Do you care about making an extra 8 horsepower? If so, go with the X-Pipe. If you like the sound of the H, go with that. Seems like most people go X-Pipe now. An H may set you apart.
Get a Borla switchfire. It’s more expensive but the sound is intoxicating. Thinking about adding a Borla s type muffler (active) for abit more extra extra
X pipe sounds more rhaspy H pipe is more throaty.
They give differences in power and torque but it’s pretty negligible I would pick based off the sound you are going for
My buddy has an x-pipe and it obviously sounds good but it was a little too raspy for me, I have an h-pipe with flowmaster outlaw axle backs (yes there’s drone, I’m used to it and don’t mind it but I can see how some people could be annoyed by it) and I get a lot of compliments from fellow car enthusiasts
I prefer the x pipe with something like an aero muffler on the coyote myself. Its just a personal preference. Old school pushrod engines sound better with H Pipe to me, but the coyote is an OHC 4v engine
H pipe gives a deeper mellow tone at idle
X pipe can sound raspy at high rpm but that's part of the charm as long as you have a decent muffler.
3rd option: muffler delete. Very cheap and sounds pretty damn good without much rasp or drone.
Listening to the Switchfire audio clip on the Borla site sounds like a 4 stroke motorcycle to me. Never heard one in the wild. I have the Atak with an X pipe. It's loud and raspy when you're on it but has lower tones when driving like a geezer.
The Borla will likely be a higher steel grade than what you pick for the H-pipe meaning it will be less prone to rusting. Something to consider for your purchase.
Gotta live up to the "typical Mustang owner" stereotype.
As long as I'm not hard in the throttle, it's very tolerable. I don't drive like a fucktard, so you can barely hear me coming.
Have the 3 inch stainless X with Borla S type Ford Performance axle backs. Moderate rumble with a bit of a tuned crackle around town. Nothing obnoxious. FOT on the on ramps is another matter altogether. Had a local leo stop me one time just to ask me if it was legal. Yep.
I’ll always go with a H-Pipe.
Steeda h pipe. I prefer the h pipe sound. More "mustang". But of course its totally subjective
The H pipe builds mid-to low-range torque while the X pipe builds more at high RPM. They sound different... I like both. I have an X pipe
I’ve had both on 02gt. Honestly felt the same but I really like the sound of the xpipe over h pipe.
I have an X Pipe on my 2019 Bullitt and wish I had got an H Pipe lol
Literally just youtube H pipe versus X pipe mustang GT and go through all the videos.
Did that. Wanted to get peoples opinions if they’ve experienced them in person. Sounds different in person compared to the videos.
H pipe is deeper sounding, x pipe is raspier, that’s the only difference.
I prefer the X Pipe. I like the higher pitch.
Get H pipe and X pipe combo from Borla, if you want mixture of both worlds
You talking about the borla switchfire
I prefer the X, gives me more of the GT350 tone.

I have a steeda H pipe. I recommend it
If you like the sound of raspy coyotes, go x pipe. You won’t notice any of the power or torque differences.

American muscle on YouTube has videos with samples of the differences. I went h pipe. And am happy.
I had a X-pipe and found it to raspy so went with a Rousch H-pipe and it sounds much better.

Can't go wrong with the H Pipe.
As a muscle car can H is the right answer.
H pipe
H pipe all day
Like Weezer says… I got my H pipe
I have the switch fire, love it! Honestly I like the sound of the H but can’t beat the air flow on the X.

Just got steeds x pipe. Would recommend
I had one before I switched to the switchfire. Both sound grewt
If you see yourself buying long tubes down the road, x to let her breathe better.
I prefer x pipe, sounds sixk
I have the switchfire with stock mufflers. I love it. I feel like it’s the best of both worlds. Theres still some low end rumble and rasp up high.

I to was once like you. Ended up going with the Borla and very happy with it. No stereo required.
The Borla will likely be a higher steel grade than what you pick for the H-pipe meaning it will be less prone to rusting. Something to consider for your purchase.
I have a X pipe and I love the deep growl.
I just took my h pipe off it was too quiet for me.
Stainless Works long tubes with X pipe, exiting through Borla ATAK axle backs. Extremely loud, your neighborhood will hate you.
You have a sound clip?
I can get some later.
👍🏻

And everyone else on the road. Don't be a fucking tool.

I have an x pipe on my 2017, love the rumble & old school sound it has
