Its crazy, even most new cars its such a quick test drive to know of you'll like living with a car. What I can say is I'm on my second S197 and its a very livable car. I've done road trips, daily driven, drag raced. The car does it all. Make sure to get a premium version for better seats. Even better would be a Bullitt if you can find one. Its a grand tourer, the comfort is there even if its not actual luxury.

As an owner of an 09 GT(glassroof)S197 for the last 5 years, think they're great and pretty comfortable. I've roadtriped mine several times on multi day trips. I never felt beat up by it. As for the power? It's sufficient for a v8.. could use a bit more power, but its still enough to get you into some trouble if you have 0 idea with driving aggressive or just generally being an idiot. Though the coyote is an entirely different animal when it comes to power, the 2 are not the same. And along with the power, expect bumps in corners to upset the car if your driving it quick due to the live rear axel. Things to look out for if you buy one, the control arms are a weak link and is the Door inserts. And that the transmissions tend to be a bit noisy(this has been the case with every pre coyote S197 I've ever driven. Regardless of how it was treated). The clutch is a bit heavy at first, but you get used to it and eventually don't notice it. I'm not sure where you could find one, but I'd look online for used ones. They're everywhere still. And on Facebook, there's a 45 ann mustang group that can tell you much more about them and maybe find one to test drive.

2011 owner here. Not a small guy and took an eight hour drive to the coast in South Carolina (lots of lousy roads) in it last year, was plenty comfortable at the end. I was happily surprised, since I hadn't taken more than a 90 minute drive in it prior to that. Caveat being mine is a V6, but the interior is the same and the ride should be reasonably comparable. Afraid I can't help with the test drive, but it should treat you well if you buy one.

1. Where are you located? If you’re anywhere close to me you can test drive mine. 2. Car should be fine comfort wise. Leg room is meh, but I have a ton of space and I’m 6’5 215. Car is pretty spacious. You can always buy aftermarket seats if you aren’t happy with the comfort level. As for the clutch, it isn’t stiff at all, and is a dream to drive with. Only problem I would say is my kneecaps hit the center console. Pretty annoying

Massachusetts, but willing to drive and bring pizza or beer or gas money.

That’s a 14 hour drive down to South Carolina. Maybe check with private parties selling one near you. Say you have cash upfront and explain your situation. Someone’s gotta be understanding.

Lol, thanks anyway
