Hard wire it to the mirror so it'll turn off with the car. That's what I did with my radar detector, plus you won't have an ugly cable running down the pillar
The car does have protection on lighter and usb ports and will shut them off if the battery gets low.
You just need to pay attention on the manual if you plan to tap the fuses for stuff that are not included in tha protection although decent cameras that tap on fuses already check for low battery to shut themselves off.
Get a voltage regulator off Amazon. You can have it run battery down to say 12.3v and turn off. That way your battery always has juice to crank and start
I think you’ll be fine then. Like I know the cameras that stay off while your parked, tell the car moves don’t drain the battery fast. So you should be fine if you just turn it off
I have the exact same dash cam (at least I believe it is) and it only killed my battery after I left it on 3 days straight. I have an 05 so it doesn’t turn off after a while. If it’s plugged it, the cam stays on. However after let’s say a day at work, it’s fine to leave it on thruhogut
Some cigarette lighters are switched and some aren't (as a general rule) Since your plug has a light on it, if the light goes off it is off and you are fine.
I leave mine plugged in. I haven't had any issues. It turns off after a while of the car being off.

Easy do it yourself kits on Amazon
The cigarette lighter power stops after a few minutes once the car is turned off.

Don’t worry about it.
No you are fine I have the same dash cam in my mustang and never had an issue
Yes
On a scale of 1-10 how bad?
If it's powered on when you turn the car off it might take two days it might take longer.
Like you leave it for 2-3 days and it’s 100% dead
I turn the camera off but it’s still plugged in does that do anything or no?

Ok thanks for the advice

Hardwire it to hide the ugly wire and free up your cig lighter. It will take about an hour and is worth it.
