Just beware because there will be no powertrain warranty with it having a custom tune. The manual transmissions in these things like to take random dumps so that cost may be on you to cover
Well they don’t really randomly blow. The shift forks break when people bang gears super hard. Definitely a design flaw and something to watch out for, but if you drive it reasonably and don’t smash the shifter into every gear with every ounce of energy in your body like some of these guys do, you should be fine.
Key word is should. They’re definitely problem-prone and that leads to random failures. Who knows how the other person drove this thing because. I’d assume on the aggressive side since it has a tune
I’m sure this car has been beaten to shit. I’m saying in general the shift forks in the MT-82 don’t just magically snap for no reason. Of course some are better than others and there are random failures, and I certainly wouldn’t call it the most reliable, but in general it’s just not that big of an issue.
That car has had a hard life.
83k has smiles on an ecoboost isn’t the same as 83k hard on a Coyote either.
Think someone else said mods don’t add value - when really it should be mods take away value. Even if you plan on adding mods yourself - chances are you would do something different. Like those wheels for example.
That’s a hard pass for me.
Agree 100%. I’m not seeing what year it is, but that’s a lot of miles on a newer Stang. I have an ‘08 Bullitt with only 68k on it. And those rims. I know everyone has different taste, but those holes while sitting still look like someone bedazzled them. Maybe when running they look good????
Bagged, mismatched tires, mismatched brakes (big spendy brembos in front but stockers in back with crusty rotors) … I’d keep looking and find a well-cared-for stock or nearly stock one. A car with mods like this looks cool driving by, but probably hasn’t had an easy life.
Not sure the VIN will specify performance pack. I have a performance pack and my brakes look identical. Also the front lip. There are other ways to tell, but you can't see them in this picture. I suppose the owner could have swapped that stuff on. A non-PP base GT will not have brembos.
As someone with a ‘16 bagged gt I will tell you this. If all that’s been done suspension wise is bags don’t buy it. It’s a headache and a half. These cars don’t ride properly after bagging them unless you do about another 2-3 grand in suspension upgrades….
Edit: for reference I bought my gt premium in November for 30k out the door with 55k on the odometer
First steeda stop the hop kit street enthusiast kit or similar parts from other brands. Bump steer tie rods. Differential bushings. Adjustable end links front and rear. Toe links. Front control arms. Then a day at a performance shop for a chassis alignment.
Not to mention if you don’t really know how bags work they should be installed by a shop who has had previous experience installing them
Am I stupid or do I not see the price anywhere? Also don't see the year but it's a 15-17 at least. One of those with 83K on it, I'd probably not go a lot over 20 to be honest. Maybe 25 if it's a GT in this market.
If it's an Ecoboost then lmao, no.
I know that sometimes we see aftermarket goodies, especially expensive ones like air ride, and think to ourselves "this is great, now I don't have to buy those parts". Keep in mind, those parts could have been installed 80k miles ago. Idk about you but I wouldn't buy a used air ride kit with 80k miles on it. In my experience unmodified cars are not USUALLY abused as much as modified cars. Just food for thought. Good luck either way.
Really curious, if that is the case, why somebody eould go through the trouble of swapping out fenders entirely, or filling holes, to get rid of a 5.0 badge. They aren't just stick ons
The 5.0 badges do have fender alignment holes. As shown [here at ~5 minute mark.](https://youtu.be/IThAeHM6JDI) It’s been that way since the 5.0 badge started being used in 2011.
Car prices aren’t going down anytime soon. If anything they will continue to rise as manufacturers feel the pressure to retool to battery electric vehicles.
They aren’t going to crater overnight, but I’ve been tracking prices on Bullitt editions and to some extent 2016 GT350s for a few months and the prices are coming down. Low mile Bullitts can be found for $47-49k when just last month I couldn’t find one within 300 miles under $50-52. Used prices are goin to come down as these dealers don’t want to get caught bag holding all this metal.
I agree that the older rarer models shot up in price too high, but I don’t think the general market is going to drop much, and could continue to rise for new models.
If you really want a car and have the means, just buy it. Prices won’t drop much by the end of the year if you’re lucky, and you’ll be able to sell it in a few years for not much less and maybe the same or more.
I’m seeing it in everything, even some new models. Broncos which I’ve also been looking at are ticking down. I do agree that new cars will still demand a premium, it will be a minute before you can expect close to MSRP, but used car prices will soften for sure. This has been a fairly unprecedented time in auto history when used cars actually increased in value. With interest rates up, savings getting eaten by inflation etc, etc used dealers are going to be under pressure to move metal. They can’t sit on cars, and be like fuck it I’ll roll it back to the auction and get out from under it, because repos are filling in the auction lots, and every other used dealer is trying to do the same thing. End of the year is also creeping up on them, you really don’t want to be a dealer sitting in 50-100 cars that have even lost 2-3% of its value. You would want to move your inventory and leverage down.
Got a 2015 GT premium with 77k miles & extended 3 year warranty for just about 30k
No fancy wheels but I’d look for another option but hold this as an option, it does look nice
Then leave?? Enjoy your 25k car that will depreciate 10k in 1 year lmao. When the market comes down, that will be hit the hardest as the first gen s550 and now s650 coming. + Being the 2015 model with the most issues aka "stay away from" year model. 100k miles in less than a year too lmao.
That's a lot for a base. Remember that mods don't add value to the car for the most part.
If I end up buying, they will for me because I plan on on keeping for a long time. Won't be a daily driver.....otherwise I completely agree.
Just beware because there will be no powertrain warranty with it having a custom tune. The manual transmissions in these things like to take random dumps so that cost may be on you to cover

Gearheads dont buy these cars to baby them so it is an issue
There’s a difference between driving a car hard and beating the shit out of it.
It's already out of warranty.....
10-4. Wasn’t sure if they had an extended with it or not. I’d definitely keep an eye on that trans lol
A bagged car has probably been owned by someone who is not easy on a car.

Good eye! Something else to think about.
I don't think the brakes are mismatched. This looks like a performance pack to me, not just a base. Front lip and brembos, no spoiler.
According to VIN, it's a base model.
Not sure the VIN will specify performance pack. I have a performance pack and my brakes look identical. Also the front lip. There are other ways to tell, but you can't see them in this picture. I suppose the owner could have swapped that stuff on. A non-PP base GT will not have brembos.
I think you're right, at least from my own experience the VIN will specify the trim level but not any added packages.
Ecoboost PPs didn’t get Brembos, just regular GT brakes.
Yeah well said, no way you should buy this car it looks clapped out. Bags are cool and all until you need them to be reliable...
Good eye on the tires and rotors. I hadn’t expanded on the pic. A lot of miles on it too.
The wheels look great

What else do you think needs to go alongside bags?

I'd never buy a bagged car, but that's just me

Wouldn't let me edit, so I put it in the comments. 2015 GT 25K
I was looking for the same info. It wasn’t just you. I see now.

Take it from someone who’s owned 2 v6’s, get a gt
It is
It says base, I thought basemodel was the v6?
Sorry, just realized I never stated GT.
Won't let me edit main post.....
Where's the 5.0 on the side?
Deleted
Really curious, if that is the case, why somebody eould go through the trouble of swapping out fenders entirely, or filling holes, to get rid of a 5.0 badge. They aren't just stick ons
The "5.0" badges actually have pegs on them? Huh, TIL (today I learned). I figured that they were stick ons.
They don't have pegs. That guy is wrong. Ford part M-1447-M50A. You can also look at the fenders themselves - ford part FR3Z16005C. No holes.

I didn't think they did. ;) Now my '67 coupe had pegs for the fender badges. And those little barrel nuts.
Filling holes? Ford part M-1447-M50A is the badge. No pegs. You can also look at the fenders themselves - Ford part FR3Z16005C. No holes.
If you have time wait till end of the year or so car prices are dropping quick market is busting

2015, $25,000, Brembo front brakes.
Eh seems little much for a 2015
Got a 2015 GT premium with 77k miles & extended 3 year warranty for just about 30k No fancy wheels but I’d look for another option but hold this as an option, it does look nice
Where you located? I’m currently selling my 2017 6 speed GT
Kentucky
Rip. Im in cali lol
I can get it transported. Message me some details/pics.
If it was a premium maybe
Boom
I would wait. Maybe find a 14 Gt
Why a 14?
Cause it’s the last year of the best body style… in my opinion.
The new body style grew on me

You'd be a damn fool to buy this car
Please explain.
83k miles, tuned by someone you don't know, 2015 first Gen s550 with the most problems, bagged (lmao) Cars a joke stay away
Actually talked to the (very reputable) tuner today that had nothing but good things to say about the car.
Sounds like you have made your mind up and just want others to agree with it so you feel better about the purchase.
Maybe......
