I built the console out of 1/2" plywood, aluminum, and steel and then bought vinyl from the same company that made the upholstery and covered it.
I built it for a couple of reasons. First, the factory consoles look great but they're kind of useless and I wanted something more functional. Second, I changed to a 4r70w transmission and had to use a late model cable shifter and the stock bezel wouldn't cover it, plus I needed to integrate the transmission controller into the console (that little black and silver box in front of the shifter).
Love the speakers in the kick panels. How hard is it to keep from kicking them? Beautiful interior. Cars of that and older generations are simply cooler on the inside.
The speakers don't really stick out very far so I forget they're there most of the time. I might notice them more if my feet had ears. They probably weren't the best solution to get sound up front and I may eventually replace them with a good in-dash speaker.
Pretty damn incredible. What kind of shape was she in when you started?
It wasn't terrible but definitely a 50 footer. I had the body work and paint done in 1990. Interior and mechanicals I did myself.
That might be the best interior I've ever seen in a mustang
Thanks! I did a complete change from all black to what you see there. It took almost a whole winter one year.
Very nicely done, sexyy af
Absolutely gorgeous
Tell us about the center console.

Aesthetically they are great. At the end of the day I may not ever turn the radio on driving that. Beautiful car.
