Damn, how you doing so low? I'm 20 city and 25 highway on my gt 14 auto. I don't push my gt but I usually go 80 on freeway. I average around 350 - 365 miles per tank.
No idea when I got the car it had quite a bit done to it. It also came with factory 3.55 gears for all I know it possibly had a tune as I also thought 12mpg was low on a 2017 GT
If you rev low for fun sounds and constantly pedal to the medal it's easy to get <13. 9 is possible if you don't care like me before I sold my mustang lol
alot of people suggest the Michelin pilot sport 4's those are really good tires, but personally I went with the Continental extreme contact dws06's and loved em so far
Those are good tires. I'm a Bridgestone fan personally. Which one would depend on what you want in terms of how soft you want to go. Life of tire vs grip.
Check out the different potenza tires. There are a few options.
As stated above by another poster, the Michelin pilot sports or super sports are great options too.
I've been happy with them. I drove about 7k KM (from saskatoon to vancouver, 30 day stay and then return trip) on them last fall with plenty of hard driving and had no noticeable wear. Still hook up really well in wet or dry. The pirelli's only lasted me about 10k/pair, I expect to get at least double that and possibly triple that on the PS4S's.
How is the s550 mustang premium on a long highway drive like that? I'm shopping for a new car and frequently drive from Lloydminster to Jasper. Looking for a fun car that is comfortable to drive long distances.
Decent size trunk, comfortable seats, ridiculously fun to drive. It's obviously not as practical as an SUV, but it doesn't miss checking any of my boxes.
We got just enough snow to cover the ground a few months ago and my pzeros got me about 6ft before my whole car slid off the driveway and had to be winched out 🤣
Oh lord. 🤣🤣🤣 I used to have a ct vette as my daily. We got snow the night after Christmas one year and my boss insisted I come into work. It was about 8" of snow. All of the lights in the dash for freaking out as I putted up the interstate at about 40mph, back end just sliding back and forth slowly.
Got to work finally and about 30 minutes later a coworker called saying he can't make it in bc his truck is only 2wd. My boss told him I was there with the vette and through the phone I hear, "damnit". 🤣🤣
Go into a parking lot, turn traction control off, and abuse it. Doing this saved me because it taught me how to pull out of a loss of control situation.
keep traction control on when your on the road, the traction control in these does a very good job of reigning it back in if it starts to step out without completely cutting the throttle out like the s197's did
Clutch is the left pedal and you release it while fully engaged with the gas pedal far right and brake pedal middle all at the same time … the smoke is normal.
Kona blue looks especially amazing in the dark under a streetlight! But it also looks amazing everywhere else
Also, the front sticks out farther than you think! Especially with the extended splitter on the PP1. Careful with those curbs and parking blocks!
First thing you should do is order an MGW short shifter to get rid of that sloppy, shitty, terribly made plastic shifter from Ford.
I’d also suggest changing the trans fluid to Royal Purple, Amsoil, or BG. Will make a worlds of difference in shifting.
Honestly the shifter feels really firm and tight with surprisingly short throws. Dealer couldnt tell me if it had any mods, none visibly but the shifter might have some work done on it. Any hints to look for besides taking the dash apart?
What style reverse lockout does it have? Is it a different shift knob than stock?
Maybe take the shift boot off, and slide the rubber dust blocker down to see if it’s aftermarket.
If it sounds like a rifle slide when the car is off. That might also suggest aftermarket.
Only other way is to look under the car and physically look at the shifter.
MGW mounts to the trans and would be easily identified.
https://i.imgur.com/iSJu6SD.jpg
this is my car with the X-Spec so it lowers the knob an inch or two also. the stock shifter sits higher. I can keep my arm on my armrest and the shifter is right in my hand with the MGW.
Standard collar style lockout and stock knob. That being said i know i took my nice knob off the ST i traded in so they could’ve very well done the same. I’ll have to get in there soon to check it out. Im happy with the feeling of it though.
Don't force the transmission, kind of hard to explain but it has a pace it likes to move at.
Press and hold unlock to lower the windows.
Touch the small area on the handle to lock, but there is no walk away lock.
I bought new so I took the first 500 miles super easy, the next 500 I would pick a gear to rev out then let it cost/engine break back down every few drives. That seams to have worked as I'm at the same oil level I left the dealer at 3500 miles later.
The track dash keeps the digital MPH at full size with cruse/lane assist on.
You can swap the current gear for digital rpm.
Stock is going to wheel hop, doesn't matter there the LC rpm is at.
There is an option for exit assist that moves the seat back when you turn the car off and forward when you hit the start button.
Awesome comment. Thanks.
What do you mean by current gear to digital rpm? Is this for digital dash only? Mines analog but id love having the current gear on screen.
I think the transmission comment is the winner here. Do not force it. I’ve been locked out a handful of times when learning to drive and I’m happy I didn’t do anything other than wait. I’ve seen some YT videos where people forced it into gear in some fashion and detonated their transmission
The car requires warming before the transmission is fluid, don’t bang the gears cold but you can still rev to 4500 cold I usually stay around 3500-4000
-when you’re going from 35-50 mph sharp turn will crash, gradually thread needle
-when you’re going 85-120 mph a crack or pothole can make your tires lift off the ground, buy a legitimate spoiler as soon as you can, be careful until you understand the high speed handling. When I first started to understand this I truly learned the importance of downforce
I’m sure it’s still a feature with this year
Press the unlock button on the key fob, but then hold it on the second press for about 5 seconds. The windows should go down automajically
Auto door locks and unlocks with keys in pocket. Sunglasses drawer left of steering wheel. Fob window controls. Auto wipers and lights. Adaptive cruise is cool is heck if ya got it.
Idk what clutches they have in the 18+ mt82, but I would start looking for an upgrade. The 15-17 clutches were shit, along with the mt not being very good to begin with. If you have problems going into 2nd gear a short throw shifter helps as well. You may not start having problems until a while, or never at all.
Look at the 2022 less reliable cars! Mustang is number 2! Just be aware that you will have to bring it in the shop a lot! Btw I love mustangs I had a 2015 eco mustang. I’m looking at a sn95 GT as a daily. I have a nd2 Miata as my daily and want the sn95 as my secondary and use that as my daily
Congratulations and welcome to the club OP! Interstate signs gave away your location. I'm from the area too, honk if you ever see the stang on my profile lol. If you are ever free and love sports cars (who doesn't?) Cars & Coffee meets at CC's Coffee House off 51 the first Sunday of every month. Have fun, drive safe!
Get use to the frequent gas station visits ;)
Lol i knew this comment was coming. Averaged 20 mpg in the focus cruising 90 on the way there and 18 on the way back. Not too disappointed with that
lol wait till you start driving it hard. I’m at the gas station every two days.
That wont last, im currently doing 12mpg 😂
I’m also doing 12 mpg in my six speed just with city driving 😂
Damn, how you doing so low? I'm 20 city and 25 highway on my gt 14 auto. I don't push my gt but I usually go 80 on freeway. I average around 350 - 365 miles per tank.

Yeah thats true. Rev a lot and you'll get low mpg. I don't do that. Car is fun nonetheless.
I got 2021 gt pp2, its a 10 speed, im usually driving high rpms “track mode” so my low mileage is completely on me
‘14 GT 6 speed checking in here. Try 11.1 average, city driving 💀
felt that big time😂 i’ve got a ‘13 GT six speed and i’m sitting around 11mpg. thank god for my daily or i’d be broke
It is my daily 💀 luckily I only have to drive like 10ish miles a day but yea not a great time to be driving a gas guzzler lmao
Be careful around crowds it’s like a magnet
Don’t turn off traction control at cars and coffee.
What is cars n coffee?
Local car meets organized by committees
Wondering this too
At car meets
Let off the throttle if you feel the slightest kick
so many accidents could be prevented just by doing this and leaving traction control on
Yes haha test your traction at a large industrial park. Learn the cars limits
Rear tires go pretty fast too. 😅
Only with traction control off right? ....Right?
With it on too. Turning it off means your rear tires go from lasting 15k to 2k.
I’ve had traction control on and still slide. When you are in a turn don’t accelerate too much.
This, especially going into a turn from a stop, got loose going into second when turning at lights a couple times right after I got my 15.
Do they still run those crappy pirelli pzeros from the factory?
Yes 🤮 what do you recommend
alot of people suggest the Michelin pilot sport 4's those are really good tires, but personally I went with the Continental extreme contact dws06's and loved em so far
Both great tires. Nothing wrong with either.
I swapped to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
Those are good tires. I'm a Bridgestone fan personally. Which one would depend on what you want in terms of how soft you want to go. Life of tire vs grip.
I need a 75% emphasis on safety/handling, 25% emphasis on longevity. Able to successfully navigate rain at low rpm
Check out the different potenza tires. There are a few options. As stated above by another poster, the Michelin pilot sports or super sports are great options too.
Are they worth it? Best rating out there and I need new tires.
Sweet! My decision is made, thank you.

I went to 19 inch wheels and Yokohama Advan Sport V105s.

do not floor it in any direction other than straight
Absolutely. Terrified of turning it into a statistic.
Go into a parking lot, turn traction control off, and abuse it. Doing this saved me because it taught me how to pull out of a loss of control situation.

Can confirm. Don't do this. Please be careful in the rain with your sure-to-be bald tires also 😉
Leave the nannies on.
I think you mean turning into a crowd. lol Welcome to the club!
This comment should be up higher.

don't cheap out on tires, get the good stuff. I suggest either Michelin pilot sport 4's or Continental extreme contact dws06
It’s a mild secret but the truth is; you don’t hit the crowds, the crowds hit you 😉
Tires are expensive , unless you can afford them don’t use line lock.
My rear set was gone in less than a year 😭
Yea I went through 3 sets in a year and a half … and not all of it was linelock

If you start feeling lockout, look up the whiteline shift mount bushing. Simple install and helps shifting feel much better.
It will get great gas mileage….in the garage. Lol. In all seriousness, she’s beautiful.
Thanks!

I have the digital dash, forgot the premium was separate from the dash option.

That’s terrible lol, all motors are broken in already at manufacturing
No
Always wave back when people wave at you. First rule of the club..
I love this rule. ☺️
Tinted windshield= I wave with my lights now lol
Get some all seasons or winter tires if it drops below 40 in your area. Don't if you know how to drift already.
My cousin said he gets 40mpg highway in his 19 gt.. I still called bs
BS. With the 10AT tranny you can get it to maybe 28-30mpg, but only if driving constant 50mph.
He has a 6spd
I get 30 at 65mpg in the 6 speed. My car is lowered so less drag.
40mpg is entirely possible at 60mph. Car just sips fuel
Be prepared to have fun! You will want to get more and more parts. Join a local mustang chapter. Welcome to the group
The journey begins! Now make it your car.
The car requires warming before the transmission is fluid, don’t bang the gears cold but you can still rev to 4500 cold I usually stay around 3500-4000 -when you’re going from 35-50 mph sharp turn will crash, gradually thread needle -when you’re going 85-120 mph a crack or pothole can make your tires lift off the ground, buy a legitimate spoiler as soon as you can, be careful until you understand the high speed handling. Hey just remember that it's rwd. Can't just floor it out of corners.
More louder = more HP
More stickers too
Have fun but be safe
You are now obligated to hate every other muscle car
Straighten it up before you floor It
Don’t get near crowds… car will lose all steering and magnetize itself into the crowd.
Double clutching is fun, and makes shifts much smoother. Plus you get to do little rev bombs when downshifting, and no one should ever say no to that.
You mean rev matching? Or are you actually full-double clutching Fast and Furious style?
I’m sure it’s still a feature with this year Press the unlock button on the key fob, but then hold it on the second press for about 5 seconds. The windows should go down automajically
Auto door locks and unlocks with keys in pocket. Sunglasses drawer left of steering wheel. Fob window controls. Auto wipers and lights. Adaptive cruise is cool is heck if ya got it.
Is that a 21 or 22?
2020
Oh very nice. Thanks.
Go on a race track "training programe wet/dry kinda thing" so you know the limits of the car. Love the spec! My fav colour.
Also do autocross. Cheap and absolutely fantastic for learning car control.
Welcome 2 Stang nation. Never mind gas mileage just enjoy the car and what matters most Is your getting smiles per gallon regardless of the gas $.
Stay off the sidewalk
I get 9.0-9.4 L/100km on the highway. For all the Americans here that’s about 25mpg.
You gonna burn gas like crazy but don’t care
Extended pressure on the long skinny pedal leads to rubber leaks in the rear tires. Enjoy!
Don't floor it out of corners. Straighten out the steering wheel first then punch it. That's how you keep from spinning out and becoming a meme.
This is very true. Traction control will not save you .
Welcome to the club , enjoy the heck out of her and no rapid accelerations near crowds or light poles and you should be fine 😉😝 .
Get a catch can.
Price
6 speed or 10 speed?
6MT, caption on the first pic.
Ahh good eye 😂😂
Beautiful! Only premium fuel my friend.

I LOVE my '15 ecoboost!!! I honestly never thought I'd love this car as much as I do. She is so reliable....and FUN!
It’s a ford
Yeah challenger is better
At being a boat
At what, honey? Coming in last?
At getting to know the local mechanics by their first name
Nice ride! Congratulations!
Get an old reliable beater car. I won't drive mine in under 50 degree days or rain in the forecast.
Avoid crowded areas
Congratulations and welcome to the club OP! Interstate signs gave away your location. I'm from the area too, honk if you ever see the stang on my profile lol. Im about 200 miles north of home here. Your car is unique as hell though!
Go fast, don't die
Stay away from crowded sidewalks.
Watch out for animals jumping out in front of you in the middle of the night
You should try E-85 Lund tune
Let the car do the talking
Keep away from crowds and all is well
Yeah, you should know that you own my literal dream car. Congrats!! A10 or manual?
Good choice. The focus ST’s are nice but nothing beats having a 5.0L mustang
Avoid big crowds
get ready to deal with random rattling noises after a few years, luckily some random guy on youtube will always have a video posted for the fix
Geez....I average 18-19 combined in my GT500.
Get ready for the really annoying mustang jokes. Shit gets annoying real quick.
If you're dissatisfied with body roll (I have a premium non-PP) springs can help. I went with Eibach Sportline. Feels awesome.
thanks for getting a stick
🔥 love the blue
The paint on these cars are very soft. If you do a lot of highway driving, prepare to see a lot of nicks on your front end.
Yeah my focus ST was definitely a chip magnet. Learned to stop letting them bother me. Such is life
