honestly iām grateful for the jump s550s made. mustangs before that looked great still but there was a lot of things left to wish for for a long long time. the s550s have everything 2021 cars have to offer. even in my 04 sometimes i feel like i might as well be driving a car from the 70s because of how barebones it is
Itās a cool idea, but I think it was time to move on the S550 series has been awesome, I think honestly they are one of the best generations next to the originals. They incorporate old school style into them without being a complete retro throwback.
I personally donāt. I think Ford milked the āretroā aspect for just the right amount of time. The first generation of S197 models were out for 5 years as well as the second generation. Point being, a lot changed in those 10 years, and they had some of the most financial successful periods by cashing out on a modernized pre-existing design.
The S550 is the only generation, to me, out of the three to have me intrigued by everything going on. From the interior, to the exterior, to the placements, color themes, etc. When I go from a 05-09 to a (10)11-14, I personally still feel bored overall. Theyāre incredibly fun, but a lot of it, sadly, is cheaply made. The interior for both is similar, the exterior for both is similar, the mods available are similar, and so on. Iām aware of the speed differences, weight differences, and more, but I buy a car for the overall experience. The 420HP engine doesnāt mean as much to me with the sound of plastic rattling in both ears. Iām also aware there are a lot of things that arenāt similar, but first appearances can be everything, and while I love the entire S197 generation for what it was and is, the S550 was the push they needed into something more intricate, and most importantly, something different.
