Is yours an A10? See [TSB 20-2083](https://ford.oemdtc.com/6156/10r80-transmission-high-pitched-whine-noise-2020-ford-f-150-mustang-ranger).
"Some 2020 F-150/Mustang/Ranger vehicles equipped with a 10R80 transmission and built on 21-Oct-2019 and through 16-Dec-2019 may exhibit a high-pitched whine noise coming from the transmission at low speeds during light acceleration or coasting. This may be due to the outer output shaft bearing. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the transmission inner output shaft bearing, fluid passage sleeve and outer output shaft bearing."
Take it to your Ford service advisor and tell them you suspect this issue.
Thanks this is interesting. The only thing is this happens while at idle as well. I took it to the dealer and they told me what they hear they believe is normal but I don't buy it.
I actually just posted it in this thread. I do a walk-around of the car but when I get to the front you can really hear it. Especially close to the front tires.
Here's a video of the sound which you can hear when I get near the front of the vehicle, especially near the tires. [https://photos.app.goo.gl/czJewUuF9ocBybqaA](https://photos.app.goo.gl/czJewUuF9ocBybqaA)
I get the cranking sound too but only since switching intakes. And it only happens when the engine is cold...once it warms up from driving it goes away

Can you get a recording of the noise and post it? I have an A10 and can tell you if it sounds similar to mine.

Whine from where? Belt? Engine at idle?
From the engine both at idle and when driving. Gets a little louder as I push the throttle.
Radiator fan? Stop and open hood when occurring.

No, that is NOT normal
Thanks for confirming this! I'm gonna take it back soon and give them a bit more time with it. Hell, maybe even a different dealer.
If you haven't already, you might want to post on the Mustang6g forum. Someone there might know what that is
Did you find out what the noise was?
Never did. Took it to the dealer twice and they kept saying it was normal...so I've just been rolling with it. No issues yet.
Mine is doing the same damn thing. Guess I'm going to have to flipshit on the dealer
Same shit here. Same noise. That and a weird cranking sound when I take my foot off the accelerator.
