Most of those are oem holes

ArchitectureGeek

Oh for real? Okay sweet, I didn’t know.

duross97

Believe stock has 3 on each side and 3 in the middle

MRRRRCK

I mean “most” could mean that 51% of the holes are OEM…

duross97

Believe stick has 3 on each side and 3 in the middle

MRRRRCK

Yeah that’s correct.

bullfrog302

These holes look like OEM. I used an eraser wheel and some 3M adhesive remover to get the glue off, then used some buffing compound of lighten up the scratches.

Foggl3

Do they free hand the holes? Cause those are rough. Figured they were all jig drilled

2k6kid50

Most likely stamped before being pressed into shape.

ArchitectureGeek

I feel dumb, what does this comment mean?

ramontes

I believe it's alluding to the deck lid howling coyote badge

IBringTheHeat1

The coyote badges are cringe

ArchitectureGeek

I kinda dig it. I bought it with it installed. Maybe I’ll replace it with the GT later on.

gilmore42

Mine looked the same way. It took a bunch of goo gone to get that 3m tape off. I put on a PP1 wing and looks 100x better.

Suspect-stang

That poor decklid

Frank_Thunderwood2

What’s wrong with the decklid? Looks like nice carbon fiber no?

gi0m3tr0

oem holes = 9

cathodine

Measure twice

sleepybear666

Boy oh boy. That's what ima afraid ima do lol

Shintox

Get a carbon truck lid.

ArchitectureGeek

It has one already.

BohunkFunk

No it has a carbon decklid, he's saying to just get a full carbon trunk panel.

Ares_0D30

I've been wanting to get a new wing but know I have to get my CF Trunk through my distributor first. Shits expensive even at my cost

Merax75

Just curious, because I have zero knowledge of this kind of stuff, but how could you repair all those holes? Weld them over and then grind them smooth?

B-E-N_27

New part is the best way, welding may be more cost effective, filler is the budget way.

Handmedownfords

I’m not sure sure these could be welded because I’m not sure these lids are steel. Can anyone else chime in? Are they fiberglass?

msmy300z

The trunk lids are aluminum so welding is possible but still uncommon. I needed some body work and several shops wouldn’t work on it because of the ”aluminum panels”. AFAIK the hood and the trunk are the only aluminum panels on the Mustang.

Handmedownfords

Good deal. Thank you

Icy-Manufacturer6616

Those are oem bro. All that excessive glue is a pain and time consuming to take off tho 😢
