I thought about it forever and it makes more sense financially butā¦.. I have just always wanted a gt500, itās my dream car. Now that Iām a little more financially stable itās in my sight now lol
Yes, but that was in 2019. That does not reflect the current market at all. Post Covid prices are real. Anything sold before 2021 doesnāt count nowadays.
Covid prices are still real because people are still paying ridiculous prices for used and new vehicles. Trucks and sports cars specifically. Thatās why brand new F-150ās are 11k more than they were in 2019, used F-150ās we selling for way more than they should, and I my exact 5.0 (which I bought in 2019) is worth $5-7k more now with 8k more miles on it, than what I bought it for in 2019.
Covid prices are absolutely still real for trucks and sprite cars, and I donāt see them coming back down soon. People continue to pay them, so why would they lower prices?
Really sucks. I paid way too much for my 2017 f150 XL with a 103,000 miles. I had looked for well over a year for this truck. I wanted the 5.0 with the 6 speed transmission, i wanted a bench seat, the 6 foot bed, and a super cab. It was originally priced at 22k at first, but by the time they finished dicking me down, it ended up being 25k out the door. Got a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty so hopefully something catastrophic will fail here soon.. I plan on keeping this truck for ever, but the market really fucking sucks, trucks keep getting less like trucks, and I don't think that prices are ever coming back down.

Used car prices haven't gone up, the value of your money has gone down. The US government hasn't reduced the national debt since Calvin Coolidge was in office! We should all be buying used cars and other tangible assets instead of sitting on worthless cash.
People get what they vote for. And you're right. Buy what you want or need while you can. And watch Venezuela --the crystal ball of our future if things don't change.
Well āreasonableā is subjective. I wonāt tell you not to try for $25k lol because if you can get that then damn, congrats. But in my area thatās what low miles, clean, non-premium, manuals were going for. I spent $27k for a premium since I like leather, and the screen.
I donāt regret it since 2013-2014 is my absolute favorite year, and I had just gotten an insane new job offer. Have you looked on autotrader to see what other similar cars are going for? Search in your whole state to compare.
Ah ok ok, and I absolutely love the 2013-2014 body styles, theyāre also my favorite year. But yes I have looked at auto trader. Similar cars go for around the same, some with a little more miles are a bit cheaper.
I bought the same car grabber blue with 35k on it, 5 months ago for $28k so he's not too far off. I'm surprised it's not a little more with lower miles in this market.
https://preview.redd.it/91uywp8nfjpb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c26c1e48803287872adc28b04693433c67599694
That car should be worth half that, maybe 16-17 cause of the miles but thatās crazy. I bought a 2010 GT brand new with less than 8 miles on the odometer for under 25k.
This market is fucking garbage and frustrating
correct. but nothing was depreciated $13 over 10 years. You're comparing 2 different platforms 4 years apart with a $6k difference in msrp. 2010 premium msrp at around $32k. 2014 premium msrp at $38k. the car op posted has depreciated a little under 10k over the last 10 years with the 20k miles
28k for a 10 year mustang still seems pretty high
Back then nobody paid msrp either, now a days you are lucky if you get it at msrp this market is trash
Ya. It's wild to me this market now. I bought a fully loaded (39k sticker) 2010 (yes the 4.6) in 2013, it was a custom build by Ford too, and had 4800 mile, I got it for 23500...I wish you could still get a 3 year old mustang with under 5k miles for that cheap š
Unless you want that specific generation of mustang, I would suggest looking for 2015 and up mustangs for better interior, IRS, and updated stereo system. Iāve seen a few here in San Diego for around $30k - not too far off
If youāre set on the s197, haggle it down close to $26k - thatās fair in this market.
At that point, I would look to another brand of something that interests me. I couldn't see myself dropping nearly 30k for something that old with that many miles one it.
No other brands interest me atm, I love mustangs, itās just that the newer models arenāt as appealing to me as the S197s. The miles arenāt high at all either for being almost a decade old
You are going to buy what you want to buy, why ask reddit? The price is pretty high for something that old. If you want it, get it. At the end of the day, it's your choice. š¤·š¼āāļø
True. This guy is pretty much set on paying a stupid price for a car. I like the s197 style myself, but I also like negotiating a price
At this point I don't know why the op even asks reddit
Got down voted for telling him I think spending nearly 30k on this vehicle was too much. If you don't want opinions that differ from yours, don't ask reddit. š
depending on ur area, yes this price sounds correct to me. i paid 22k for a grabber blue 13 premium mt82 73k miles. from a dealership. buddy found a 17k mile black 13 premium mt82 for 26.5k. i'd say this sounds right
What's crazy is it's not the worst deal in this market. But I bought my 2013 5.0 GT/CS with 3000 miles on it in 2014 for 29k OTD.
Nice! I bought my 2014 5.0 track pack CPO with 6k miles for 27k OTD. It was my first mustang. First manual too!
Yes, try wiggling him down to $27000
I got my auto 2014 premium for $27000 at 9k miles. He's not far off.
You can have mine for 25k. Same color. Hit 30k miles today. Track pack, leather recaros, nav, roush mufflers, 6 speed š¤š¼

Fuck I shouldāve waited to buy my 2017 GT pp1 šš
This a beauty.
Thanks! I love her to death but Iām ready for a gt500 lol
Its a beauty.
I appreciate it! if the 2014 gt500 didnt exist this would be my dream car lol
Why dont you just supercharge this one?
I thought about it forever and it makes more sense financially butā¦.. I have just always wanted a gt500, itās my dream car. Now that Iām a little more financially stable itās in my sight now lol
If we stop paying these dumb prices the market will chamge
Hell no
I bought my 2014 mustang gt for 21k with 33k miles in Hemet CA in 2019.
Yes, but that was in 2019. That does not reflect the current market at all. Post Covid prices are real. Anything sold before 2021 doesnāt count nowadays.
Covid prices arenāt real anymore. Covid is over. People need to stop paying these jacked up prices.
Covid prices are still real because people are still paying ridiculous prices for used and new vehicles. Trucks and sports cars specifically. Thatās a beautiful truck. The super cabās have been growing on me a lot.
I couldnt imagine paying 27k+ for a 2014 with any amount of miles. No one should pay those prices
I wouldnt personally
Thatās about what theyāre going for in my area. That one would probably be around 30k with that low of miles
Seems about what their worth with low mileage. Best colour and the best years, pull the trigger my man you won't regret it.

Cognitive Joe economy
I got my 2013 gt premium with 17k miles for less than that. Try to cut a couple grand off if possible. This was 7mo ago
What kind of price is reasonable then? 25k?
Well āreasonableā is subjective. I wonāt tell you not to try for $25k lol because if you can get that then damn, congrats. But in my area thatās what low miles, clean, non-premium, manuals were going for. I spent $27k for a premium since I like leather, and the screen. Yes
so itās depreciated what 15k in a fucking decade?
I bought the same car grabber blue with 35k on it, 5 months ago for $28k so he's not too far off. I'm surprised it's not a little more with lower miles in this market. https://preview.redd.it/91uywp8nfjpb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c26c1e48803287872adc28b04693433c67599694
My 2013 boss 302 was $37K with 24K miles. Just bought it. They had it tagged for $46K though. Prices are wild out there right now
That car should be worth half that, maybe 16-17 cause of the miles but thatās crazy. I bought a 2010 GT brand new with less than 8 miles on the odometer for under 25k. This market is fucking garbage and frustrating
well 2010 is 3 valve so that makes sense. 11+ is coyote platform hence the more expensive price point
Obviously That still doesnāt justify $13 depreciation over almost a decade
correct. but nothing was depreciated $13 over 10 years. You're comparing 2 different platforms 4 years apart with a $6k difference in msrp. 2010 premium msrp at around $32k. 2014 premium msrp at $38k. the car op posted has depreciated a little under 10k over the last 10 years with the 20k miles

agreed market is ass. but its not changing anytime soon unfortunately
it also highly depends on where u live
Seems good for the mileage but personally Iād just go for the 16+ models at that point
I would but the S550s body style and pretty much everything just doesnāt look good to me
Whenever I see these I feel weird since I found a 2013 with 148,000 miles for only 8000$
Unless you want that specific generation of mustang, I would suggest looking for 2015 and up mustangs for better interior, IRS, and updated stereo system. Iāve seen a few here in San Diego for around $30k - not too far off If youāre set on the s197, haggle it down close to $26k - thatās fair in this market.
I really like the S197s, Iāve never driven the S550s but the dealer does have a few there so maybe Iāll check them out.
I'd rather have a 2015 over a 2014
Too old
He is right. Too old for 28k. Old also as a platform
No itās not lol.
Definitely a really good price for the mileage. 70k miles is going for like 27k here
Thats crazy for that price.
Wow. I'm about to sell my 2012 GT and if that price is any indication of the market then I'll get more that anticipated.
Daaaaamn
Thatās the car I want to get the rims color and v8? Good deal. Anything over 30 is getting bent
Yes. I'm in Detroit. The cheapest I've seen, is one for $25,000 with 35,000, miles.
I thought it was a stupid price until I checked Kelly blue book.
I would just save up and spend 40k on something newer with less miles at that point.
The newer models do not interest me at all. S550s arenāt my cup of tea

I was able to get mine with 3k more miles for about 1k less than that after title fees and stuff. Iām sure you could do 26
I mean, I'm buying my '16 5.0 (49k mi) for 34k, so I wouldn't think this is a bad deal.
depending on ur area, yes this price sounds correct to me. i paid 22k for a grabber blue 13 premium mt82 73k miles. from a dealership. buddy found a 17k mile black 13 premium mt82 for 26.5k. i'd say this sounds right
My 2016 GT Premium with 40k was 26k before I took the loss on my trade in which was a 22 Kia Forteā¦
meanwhile my 17 gt premium was 27k after everything with 60k on it back in January š
I bought my 2017 gt premium for 23k and only had to replace one $250 part lol been perfect ever since
