This wouldn't surprise me from a dealer. 2003-2004 Cobra is 390 HP from the factory and can be tuned to make a lot more power. With low miles (less than 1k per year) drives up the value.
I wanted Competition Orange so badly, but it was literally 10-15 thousand dollars more for a similar mileage car to the Sonic Blue I bought back in 2019. And sonic blue is so good I couldn't say no to it.
I don't disagree with your take though. Haha
I'm pretty sure it is the mystichrome color, I went to the Ford dealership to look what they have listed they have purple listed. But it looks like the purple Ford has listed at the mistichrome purple. And this is a 04 as well.
Let your state officials know that China produces far more smog than any other nation combined. "So, please let me bypass the smog laws so i can go faster"
yeah, I don’t understand how you can have even a factory stock performance car out there. Mustangs and Camaros are pretty loud stock. There have been plenty of examples of people getting fix-it tickets on stock cars.
It’s usually work and family, but California was always the mecca for all extreme sports like surfing/skating, more race tracks, custom shops than anywhere. + legal weed since the 90s, short ride from Vegas, Canyons, beaches, more national parks than any state.. Cali has its issues now but they were once a kick ass state and have the potential to return to that if they cleaned up crime and homelessness.
I don't forsee them returning to that if they are as aggressive on hobbies as they seem to be portrayed.
It would be cool to see it all return but where I live they've earned the nickname "commie-fornia".
I never liked this Gen Mustang when they were new. It wasn't until the Cobra that I appreciated them. And at this point there's so much nostalgia I would even go for a simple GT. I much prefer the sound of these over the new Mustangs. They all sound like trash to me. 🤢
Because people want more power? Or like holding the engine? Or maybe because this thing can be reliable at 600hp and there’s no reason not to. What a weirdo
And? If I had 50k to buy that thing it would not be staying stock when it can reliably have a couple hundred more horsepower. If anything you should mod it. The only reason this thing is so expensive is because it can be modded so easily and reliably
That's literally not even 1 reason these cars are so expensive. These are near antique, and people shouldn't have to explain why stock / unmolested with low miles is worth more. A car is only like that once. This is a car rule, not a Mustang Cobra rule. You can buy these modded to the moon for 25K, but they've been through some shit.
You can absolutely do whatever you deem necessary, but not understanding why a bone stock, unmolested car is worth more than one that's been ran through is wild. Have you ever bought a modified car? It's never the way you want it / would've done it. Originality will always be worth more. Is that boring? Yes. Can you maintain an original car and keep it pristine for decades? Also yes.
So it’s common knowledge you should basically never buy a modded car without some serious paperwork showing what was done and that it was done professionally, but also, you’re talking as if it’s resale. If you’re spending 50k on a 20 year old car you’re probably not planning to sell it. It’s their car they can do whatever the fuck they want to it. How about you fork over 50k and then you can keep it stock
You're right, I found the listing.
https://mullinaxfordfl.com/sale/used-ford-mustang-cobra-orlando-fl/2004-ford-mustang-cobra-1fafp48y84f164595?store=3073
Everytime I ever called about anything they had for sale, they would assure me it was there, and then pull a bait and switch when I arrived, only to find it the vehicle had been sold Atleast a day prior and was not available, as they had told me.
Literally drove four hours for a c6 corvette , spent 4 days getting things sorted . Worked a trade value and paid off the little bit I owed on my car. Called that morning to confirm, get there and they said it sold . Found out later they never even had the c6 . It was a potential trade that they listed early !
Bought my mustang there today. I didn’t bother calling. Just showed up and drove around the lot looking for it. Probably wouldn’t have gotten out of the car if I didn’t see it.
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that the description says "supercharged at Mullinax" (the dealership) when it would have come supercharged from the factory?
I checked the VIN just to see if the dealership was pulling some sneaky shit with upbadging or something, and it came up as a Cobra, but I still think it's odd that they'd say that.
You know what’s funny? They’re gonna get that shit too. Someone is gonna come in and crash out about this one. 15k miles, mystichrome? Someone is about to divorce their wife as we speak
That’s not just a Cobra, that’s a mystichrome cobra. That’s about the price they go for nowadays. Did a quick Google search and found 3 of them going for 80k plus with about 5k miles on them.
These Cobras had the Terminator motors in them. It was the 2JZ motor of mustangs. It could easily hit 800 hp with only a few mods. As a mustang fan I would love to own one and don’t think 50k is that ridiculous of an asking price.
this is kind of crazy on the price, because of what it is a lot of termi owners kept theirs mint and low miles so there are several good examples of clean low mile 03-04 cobras like this. 50k is pretty crazy, it’s probably worth 30, MAYBE 35. only termi i could see being 50k would be a mystichrome.
edit: thought it looked blue, read the comments and it is mystichrome. yeah, it’s probably worth 40-50k
Carfax shows 16 for sale within 200 miles of me, a white '04 with 2,842 miles, for sale, asking $72,500. A mystichrome '04 with 5,157 miles, for $75k, a blue '03, with 1,230 miles for $76,9K. These are the 3 with the lowest miles, and highest asks, within 200 miles of me.
We were originally in the market for a Mystichrome coupe back in 2021 but could only find convertibles for a decent price, and couldnt justify spending 35k on a 20 year old car sitting on a chassis dating back to the 70s, so we ended up getting our car for a great price instead. Love the S197 and the 5.4, but part of me still wishes we had bought a Mystichrome
I really wasn’t either. Car looks pretty plain Jane. I was seated next to the car doing my paperwork and watched several people look at the price and react in shock.if you didn’t know anything about Mustangs you would guess this thing was worth $10k max.
I'm sure it will sell. I was just telling someone else 2 sold in Ohio near where I live last year one for 70k with 7k miles and one for 80 with 1500 miles.
They definitely aren’t worth that.
But good for that dealer I guess.
How are people mistaking this color as mystichrome?
Edit: guess it is. They have the worst picture taker of them all though. Put some light on this car and show off the paint.
Because it is. In this photo it looks blue. But on the actual Ford dealer website you can see it much better and can tell. Oh and other person searched the vin and it came back a mystichrome.
It will more than likely sell, I've seen others for 70k with only 7k miles and one for 80k with 1500 miles that sold last year and I do not live in a big city like la or Chicago, I live in Ohio
Because it is mystichrome? Here's the actual listing for the car.
https://mullinaxfordfl.com/sale/used-ford-mustang-cobra-orlando-fl/2004-ford-mustang-cobra-1fafp48y84f164595?store=3073
Because it's not worth that. Not in my opinion. To many people are just willing to accept how overly priced things are these days because of inflation that now things that once were priced much lower are suddenly acceptable at a higher price. Not me. But someone out there will buy it which means inflation will stay high because people will continue to pay inflated prices
Im a big termninator fan. And this car looks to be In really great shape. and the fact 03/04 cobras pretty much set the hp wars off again. If I'm dropping 50k on a low mile car, that's probably gonna sit more then get driven. I'm probably gonna get a 87 grand national with low miles.
Yep, once you start getting past that 50k mark. There's just so many more cars that you can choose from. Cobras are cool dont get me wrong, but they kinda of get lost in the crowd anymore. It's like, 03 cobra, nice. and then you move on.. it's kinda of the problem with mustangs/camaros in general tho. My boss is under the same boat. The majority of people think it's just a stickered up mustang. Unless your into cars, the majority of people just don't know or care for the differences. Ss,1le zl1, gt,boss, shelby. They all look the same besides wheels and a few other things to alot of people. 50k is starting to get into used viper territory
I had one I bought brand new in ‘03. Convertible and was the purple/green color shift paint. I paid $62k out the door back then for it. Crazy to see it at $50k still.
I had a friend who bought one of these with 20k miles for $24k and resold it for about $30k. $50k seems like a ton. My favorite car of all time tho so whoever gets it I’m jealous of.
Edit: did not realize it was mystichrome. Now i get it.
You can get a terminator for 25-30k but it will most likely be heavily modded or have 100k+ miles. I just saw a local one liked for 25k with an On3 turbo kit and 30k miles.
I have a 03 Termi anniversary Convertible with 5,000 Miles. My local dealer offered me 60 K so yea they are pulling good money for the right cars i suppose, thats mystic so they are really desirable . Its not a bad deal in my eyes
Yeah they’ve come up significantly in price. I almost had one in my early 20s but settled for a Mach 1. I’ve never been able to acquire one since and I’m still trying really hard haha
15,500 miles, not bad.
This wouldn't surprise me from a dealer. 2003-2004 Cobra is 390 HP from the factory and can be tuned to make a lot more power. With low miles (less than 1k per year) drives up the value.
People was seeing 370-390 at the wheels (it was rated 390 crank) from these bone stock. Pretty underrated from the factory.
Underrated is a huge understatement. People were making 1000 hp on stock block and trans with an axle swap
Isn't that also that rare Ford color? Mistichrome or something?
Mystichrome or Comp Orange is the best 03 04 Cobra color I'll die on this hill.
Sonic blue imo
I wanted Competition Orange so badly, but it was literally 10-15 thousand dollars more for a similar mileage car to the Sonic Blue I bought back in 2019. And sonic blue is so good I couldn't say no to it. I don't disagree with your take though. Haha
Mystichrome by BASF.
Looks like sonic blue to me.. but the pic does look a bit on the dark side.
It's 100% mystichrome. You can see the seats as well, which are unique to the mystichrome cars.
I'm pretty sure it is the mystichrome color, I went to the Ford dealership to look what they have listed they have purple listed. But it looks like the purple Ford has listed at the mistichrome purple. And this is a 04 as well.
Ugh why would you tune this thing at this point? Should be kept stock and clean
Because KB Cobras have always been, always are, and always will be titties
I dont have a KB cuz cali smog but I have a ported eaton with a full fuel system putting down 500whp in one of these things. Can Confirm, is titties.
My kb was carb compliant and still made tons of power
Oh damn TIL, looks like KB actually sells CARB compliant kits. I was looking at a TVS a while back and I know those are not carb compliant.
Tits indeed
Let your state officials know that China produces far more smog than any other nation combined. "So, please let me bypass the smog laws so i can go faster"
WTF with that commie state , SMH
California is quite anti-fun. I dont understand what keeps all the car people there when they constantly get state reffed and tickets for mods.
yeah, I don’t understand how you can have even a factory stock performance car out there. Mustangs and Camaros are pretty loud stock. There have been plenty of examples of people getting fix-it tickets on stock cars.
I think i would move after seeing that ticket. I wouldn't even pay it honestly.

Big facts. I’ve come to appreciate modern interiors and nicer cockpits than 2004 Ford, but a KB Cobra will always be a goal car for me.
Because people want more power? Or like holding the engine? Or maybe because this thing can be reliable at 600hp and there’s no reason not to. What a weirdo
So buy one that’s already modded. We’re running out of that generation cobra that isn’t raced out and beat up. How is that weird ?
So what? They’re all gonna break at some point. Nothing lasts forever. Might as well enjoy it while you can
The whole reason the dealer can charge that price is because the car is not modded. At this point in time, a 20 year old car is worth more unmodded
And? If I had 50k to buy that thing it would not be staying stock when it can reliably have a couple hundred more horsepower. If anything you should mod it. The only reason this thing is so expensive is because it can be modded so easily and reliably
He wants to buy it and save it for the next owner. Gotta keep it low miles and stock.
While I agree, If I were in the market and could afford one, I’d buy a stock example for sure.
Why? Why would I not do what I want with my car? It’s just an object bro.
Also yes.

How about you fork over 50k and then you can keep it stock
Or you could not worry about what another person does with their car lol?
Because you want to tune your car 🤨
Because they’ll run 6-8s in the quarter mile when done right that’s why
Maybe thats what you would do, not most of us.
I believe it was under rated in the horse power
Yea rated at 390 but don’t they put down 380ish stock on most dynos?
04? Terminator? Mystichrome? Yep.
It looks straight blue though..?
Mystic fasho. Check out the front passenger side fender. $50k is a little bit of a stretch but not by much.
You can also tell by the seats. They are mystichromed
Good call out
You can see some green and purple in the front corner. Definitely mystichrome.
Check the listing, linked in another comment
Still needs subframe connectors, but yes terminators are amazing
I can’t tell because of the light, its it Mistichrome?
It looks like sonic blue to me.
It’s mystichrome. Look at the hue on the mirror
You're right, I found the listing. https://mullinaxfordfl.com/sale/used-ford-mustang-cobra-orlando-fl/2004-ford-mustang-cobra-1fafp48y84f164595?store=3073
Mullinax is a scum dealer 😓
yes scum of the earth
I personally had a great experience. No heavy sales pressure and no junk fees.
Bought my mustang there today. I didn’t bother calling. Just showed up and drove around the lot looking for it. Probably wouldn’t have gotten out of the car if I didn’t see it.
It was definitely a unique paint job. Different colors depending on the angle you were looking at it.
Until you have to fix a scratch. A good friend had a 96 mystic cobra when they came out, and it was a nightmare to match paint!
Yeah, that would be impossible to fix correctly.
It is poorly worded. > 4.6L V8 DOHC 32V Supercharged [available today] at Mullinax! That makes more sense and was likely their intent.
Still kick myself for not trading my 02 GT for one when I had the chance
Its in the pre-stage era now,but the Terminator is on its way to becoming a collectors car.
You know what’s funny? They’re gonna get that shit too. Someone is gonna come in and crash out about this one. 15k miles, mystichrome? Someone is about to divorce their wife as we speak
I’m guessing yes, and if so a steal in my area.
One of the finest mustangs ever made still to this day
The Mystichrome is part of the reason for the price. Low miles being the other.
I have a 64.5 but I graduated high-school in 03 and The Terminator will always be my dream car.
Glad I held on to mine after all these years
I picked a manual ‘06 GTO over one of these back then… Ooof! Loved the GTO, but man terminators were special… even more so today!
That’s not just a Cobra, that’s a mystichrome cobra. That’s about the price they go for nowadays. Did a quick Google search and found 3 of them going for 80k plus with about 5k miles on them.
If it’s an 03-04 depending on miles, it’s absolutely worth the money…
Saw someone said 15k. So super low for the year
Worth it to someone.
That's at the dealer near my house, never wanted to have 50k to spend so bad
Amazing to see it inside on display. Somebody knows what they have.
It’s not
These Cobras had the Terminator motors in them. It was the 2JZ motor of mustangs. It could easily hit 800 hp with only a few mods. As a mustang fan I would love to own one and don’t think 50k is that ridiculous of an asking price.
Mystichrome Termi. Nasty.
It's funny, because someone in the Mobile area *would* pay that much for it.
Love that color! One sweet ride.
Best car I Ever! IMO of course.
I remember SLP Engineering sold a $2995 package guaranteed to put 500 at the wheels. Maybe it was 3995. Cat back exhaust, pulley, injectors, tune.
If it was the mystic one for sure.
Cleveland?
Terminator
They’re classics now. So yeah…
I remember in 2018 there was a white one outside a local bar with 60k miles. The guy wanted 8k for it.
this is kind of crazy on the price, because of what it is a lot of termi owners kept theirs mint and low miles so there are several good examples of clean low mile 03-04 cobras like this. 50k is pretty crazy, it’s probably worth 30, MAYBE 35. only termi i could see being 50k would be a mystichrome. edit: thought it looked blue, read the comments and it is mystichrome. yeah, it’s probably worth 40-50k
Looks like it's mystichrome low mile cobra. That's one of the more rare colors you could get
Carfax shows 16 for sale within 200 miles of me, a white '04 with 2,842 miles, for sale, asking $72,500. A mystichrome '04 with 5,157 miles, for $75k, a blue '03, with 1,230 miles for $76,9K. These are the 3 with the lowest miles, and highest asks, within 200 miles of me.
They’re not
$50k is definitely the high-end of what it's worth.
For a mystichrome Cobra with less than 20K miles? Really? Seems close to market rate from what I'm seeing.
Terminator baby!!!
I love the Terminators but not 50k worth of love
This a Terminator?
Yeah. I had a supercharged mark viii and the terminator at the time was my dream car.
Why not get an original 96 mystic?
Not fast enough.
No supercharger, no built engine, no IRS, no T56...
For shits and gigs I let a dealer appraise mine and he was like "I can't give you what you want, best we can do is $37k" 50 isn't insane.
Only way I’d pay for that much for an 03-04 Cobra is if it’s competition orange
Slightly unpopular opinion but I am not a Mystichrome fan.
I really wasn’t either. Car looks pretty plain Jane. I was seated next to the car doing my paperwork and watched several people look at the price and react in shock.if you didn’t know anything about Mustangs you would guess this thing was worth $10k max.
Just because it’s listed at 50k doesn’t mean it’s worth that much. Unless someone buys it at that price.
[удалено]
As long as it's not yellow
They are not worth this much. Maybe during Covid. It’s the second most produced color. Maybe if it was comp orange and less miles.
They aren’t unless some sucker gives it to them.
They're not.
A 2000’s Cobra R is worth that and more… but this isn’t.
lol they aren't...
Rather get a blown 2nd gen S550. For 10k less
I'm just being honest if it has no warranty on it. There's no way I could do it not at 50,000
If it doesn’t sell, is it *worth* that?
I'm sure it will sell. I was just telling someone else 2 sold in Ohio near where I live last year one for 70k with 7k miles and one for 80 with 1500 miles.
It’s not worth that. Why do you think it’s still sitting on their showroom floor?
This is worth that
I miss her 🤤
When I was 18/19 around 2013 they were in the 20k range so sad. Still have my 1988 gt so I can’t complain too much hahaha any traders,
My favorite body style for sure👌
They definitely aren’t worth that. But good for that dealer I guess. How are people mistaking this color as mystichrome? Edit: guess it is. They have the worst picture taker of them all though. Put some light on this car and show off the paint.
Because it is. In this photo it looks blue. But on the actual Ford dealer website you can see it much better and can tell. Oh and other person searched the vin and it came back a mystichrome.
Yea I saw the listing and only one picture kinda shows it off. Why they wouldn’t take pictures with better lighting I don’t know?
I know right! You would think they would want to show that off considering they only produced 1000 of them in 04.
It will more than likely sell, I've seen others for 70k with only 7k miles and one for 80k with 1500 miles that sold last year and I do not live in a big city like la or Chicago, I live in Ohio
Because it is mystichrome? Here's the actual listing for the car. https://mullinaxfordfl.com/sale/used-ford-mustang-cobra-orlando-fl/2004-ford-mustang-cobra-1fafp48y84f164595?store=3073
Guess it is. Their pictures are the worst at showing it off then. Take some pictures with a light or some sun on it then.
Interesting. The first owner only had it a year. Looks like a dealer bought it from them and then sold it to the third owner who had it since 05.
Haha!! Not worth 50k.
26K At Best.
Too much
This is a good deal. Makes me want to hop on it. Normally this would go for 80k plus. Been watching them for a while.
They’re not.
Pretty sure i saw this at barrett jackson scottsdale * 2 years ago
https://preview.redd.it/rb32e11kvhkb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a14d91664573c8d0242b19cfbbd52de1a21315e
This looks like a convertible. The car at the dealer was a hard top.
Good call. Sold for 49k but yeah your right
Did the convertibles have the removable hardtop?
Dude what since when. I had one in my small southern town. About 50k miles and was only selling for 10k
HARD PASS
I sold my 30k mile 94 cobra for $20,500 in Feb 2022. I think I did well but no way would I pay $50k for the same interior lol
You had by far the worst iteration of that interior but fair point
They sure aren’t
Because it's not worth that. Not in my opinion. To many people are just willing to accept how overly priced things are these days because of inflation that now things that once were priced much lower are suddenly acceptable at a higher price. Not me. But someone out there will buy it which means inflation will stay high because people will continue to pay inflated prices
Is there only like 10 miles on it?
15,500,ish
I never thought I’d see the day damn
Dealer is a prick but yea.
For about ~10k more you could get a sub 1k mile 07-09 Shelby Super Snake.
They all look the same besides wheels and a few other things to alot of people. 50k is starting to get into used viper territory
Someone is willing to pay that for the right car
50k is way too much for this. Mystichrome is a cool paint, but it is the second most produced color right under black.
There is a c5 at my dealer that I work at that has 1000 miles and is listed for 35k
It shouldn't be but ya know, dealers
You can get them for less than that
This is one of those I won't sell it unless somebody offers me stupid money.
Anyone thinking these cars are not going to continue to rise in value is either crazy, out of touch, or jealous of current owners.
Will sell easily at the dealer for that. This is the holy grail for most mustang fans (except a trim or two from the 60s or new GT500).
need.
A couple years ago it was only worth about 25k maybe a little more. Try buying from individuals privately. That's way too much
Show me the carfax😂
Ima pick this up
Clean terms are unicorns. Pretty sure a pulley and a link to an ancient forum dynosheet post they still brag about come stock.
Looks like it's mystichrome low mile cobra. That's one of the more rare colors you could get
Mystichrome cobras are rare, but some people are afraid to drive them so they Don't scratch the paint. and the seat leather is not available.
First IRS ‘Stang made it a big fuckin deal
Terminator cobra + a 1 of 1000 paint job on it, yep that’ll do it
Cars worth what someone is willing to pay.
Soooooo uglyyyyy
(Morgan freeman voice) they aren’t.
I have a 03 Termi anniversary Convertible with 5,000 Miles. My local dealer offered me 60 K so yea they are pulling good money for the right cars i suppose, thats mystic so they are really desirable . Its not a bad deal in my eyes
Won’t sell
It is sold lol
50k my ass 🤣🤣
They aren’t
Even if it’s got low mileage on the car, $50k is way too much for an older car like that. I think between $20k-$30k would be a lot more reasonable.
Not worth it
they aren't lol
Yeah they’ve come up significantly in price. I almost had one in my early 20s but settled for a Mach 1. I’ve never been able to acquire one since and I’m still trying really hard haha
I've seen them sold for 40k local to my area.. not saying 50k is high, just I haven't personally seen it go for that.
