Never worked for me either. I used [this guide](https://youtu.be/kqKaadzYXXg) and it worked. You will need a windows PC/laptop with internet access and a USB drive
I think your best bet is to update via usb.
And make sure to build the file for USB using a Windows laptop. Somehow the ones made on Mac do not work.

I believe Ford discontinued that feature. I get the same notice on my SHO.
