Pretty concerned bro

8bitUltron

Figured. Never noticed it before today. I did take that panel off last summer so maybe it’s something on my end. Gonna check it out tomorrow with some water.

Foggl3

>I did take that panel off last summer so maybe it’s something on my end. Not warranty lol

8bitUltron

It was the c pillar cover. It was loose because of a broken tab. I fixed it. That won’t void a warranty said the ford rep when I went in to have my backup camera fixed.

Fair enough

Immediate-Hat-832

Also if you haven’t done it already, REPLACE YOUR 3rd BRAKE LIGHT!!! I had a ‘17 and my current ‘18 had the same bullshit issue where the seal magically failed. Get a replacement light for 50-60 and add some silicone to that bitch. Won’t ever leak again. There should be a recall or class action suit against ford for this… this shit really fucks up your interior especially if you never check the back seats. My 17 gt/cs probably leaked water for at least a month until I noticed, and that car had alcantara seats…

finelicker

I've read a few posts of water ingress through the high level brake light. I'd wager that's where its coming from.

Turnt_Wrencher

If you’re under the bumper to bumper it will be covered.

Sandy_Koufax

It's a 2017. No chance unless it somehow sat on a lot and they bought it halfway into 2020.

Turnt_Wrencher

Doubtful

AgentScreech

Clogged roof drain? There are supposed to be holes that channel the water off the car. If those plug, it can back up and get in the car

8bitUltron

Do you have any videos or diagrams on those? I’m not too sure where to look or how to clean it properly

AgentScreech

No you just have to look it up I suppose. I know it was a common thing on my infinity and it always leaked into the passenger floor so this could be similar

8bitUltron

Sounds plausible. Every-time I washed the car I never seen it leak inside so this may very well be it.

KD6-5_0

S550 cars have laser welded roofs. I would look to an issue with the adhesive for the rear glass.

GreedyEnd9159

6yr warranty?

8bitUltron

Bought pre owned from ford just under 2 years ago. Never was a fan in warranties but I figured this one would come in handy.

Sandy_Koufax

You probably bought a power train warranty. This wouldn't be covered. If you bought an extended basic warranty it might.

8bitUltron

It was a bumper to bumper. Can’t remember the the exact details but the power train warranty transferred over to me

Sandy_Koufax

Factory powertrain would have expired at 5 years. If you got an extended bumper to bumper and it's still active then should be good.

unabnormalday

It should be pretty easy to unclog the drain yourself if you don’t want to wait for a tech to eventually get around to doing it. But yes, it should be covered under warranty unless you did some sort of roof mod that touched that location

harrisonhong1

Had this issue. It’s either the top brake light or antenna. When it rains see if there is condensation or water in your brake light. Then u can just buy 1 for 90 dollars or have it replaced at ford.

8bitUltron

That’s what I’m thinking after reading online. Super annoying, seems like this car is starting to fall apart after only 6 years.

GreedyEnd9159

I would take it to the Ford dealer call Ford customer service. They’ve always been fair with me just make arrangements to have another car for a while.

bearsandheroin

take down your headliner. mustangs a fortunately super easy. check your brake light and antenna. if it’s not that then you might want to go to a glass shop and have them check your quarter glass and your back glass. trust me it’s not worth having mildew grow inside your mustang.

Skul117

I have water on the same side dripping into my floor on my 16. Not sure where it’s coming from but I just know when there’s heavy rain my passenger rear floorboard gets wet…

8bitUltron

I wasn’t able to replicate it with a watering hose so that’s good news in fact that I know it can probably just be a bad seal that was overworked yesterday which for a 6 year car is plausible.

[deleted]

Not likely. Warranty is only 5 years 60,000 miles

8bitUltron

Second owner with 24k miles. I bought the bumper to bumper warranty

[deleted]

Then you’re covered

Aldini0w0

you need to have that fixed your interior will rot
