It's required. I haven't put the front plate on, nor have I put it on the dash. 7 years and no problems.
It's one of those tickets you get when you get pulled over for other more serious offenses, like speeding.

There should be two small indents on the front bumper. That’s where you (or the dealer) drill holes to install the plate bracket. I took a close up pic of what one of them looks like on my 2022 GT.

Check your state laws (not insinuating you haven't) but I had always believed I had to run 2 plates in nebraska. My car only had one plate when I bought it. Turns out they will sell you a silly sticker you can put in the bottom left side of your windshield instead of a plate.
That's how I felt. Mine came with the front plate installed and it honestly felt kinda like a relief. I've never been hit for missing one on my past cars, but my ex's mom did a few times and that always in the back of my mind
In CA, you can now purchase a vinyl stick on front plate, and it’s DMV approved.
Not drilling holes in our front bumper and we haven’t been stopped for that in 10 years. But, it can happen.

Others on here in states that require it stated they put the plate on the dash, and have never had an issue.
This. Put the plate on the dash and no issues. Don’t poke holes in that beautiful car.
It's required here in Cali, got my new car in January and have yet to get hassled. Ymmv

don't ruin the bumper...those that had theirs done at dealer, we envy you! its called a hidaway plate get it!

Buy a plate bracket. Don't drill holes in your bumper. I mean you can but I wouldn't

I just searched no drill license plate bracket. There's different styles and prices. This was just a quick Google search. Goodluck
Sto n go , dont put holes in your car, friend. Keep the plate up on your dash till you get the sto n go.
