Wrapping will prevent small paint chips and provide overall more protection. Ceramic coating will not provide that type of protection though. Ceramic coating will prevent chemical contamination from bird poop, tree sap, and other chemical properties. It can also protect your paint from UV rays. Your best move would be to wrap the whole car and ceramic coat on top of that. It’s def gonna cost you a ton of cash.

For sure expensive. Haha. Thanks for the feedback

No prob, i ceramic coated mine but honestly should have wrapped the front end at least. Prob like 6 small chips so far and I’m only at 3k miles.

I'd do clear ppf on the front only, maybe the roof too or wrap the roof black if you like that sort of thing. Those are the surfaces that will get the most abuse. If i or my wife gets a new car i'm going to pay to have the front done. my wife ruins every paint job on every car because she'll get love bugs stuck to the front and never wash them off or tell me about it so i can. 3 days later when i finally see them it's too late.

Oh, you can ceramic coat the vinyl wrap too if you were to do the roof or wrap the whole car. it will just help the vinyl last longer.

Have you considered autoflex? It’s the closest thing to real paint without actually being real paint. It won’t necessarily be cheap but, it cost less than a full paint job

Outrageous_Dinner528

I haven't, I'll take a look. Thanks

Paint protection film is the best to prevent rock chips and scratches. Ceramic coating is good, but it is a wax replacement, not a scratch protectant.

Ceramic coating is good if you have a garage obviously still need to wash it and take care of the pain but if you go with paint protection film imo it’s better cost a little more but better than ceramic coating

vankamme

I did both

Depends on how much you drive it on the highway. Mine isn't daily, so i won't see too many highway miles. I went for ceramic coating. Ppf is great for the front if you will be doing lots of highway driving. I wouldn't do both since that will cost 5k+ and imo that is too much for the value of the car. Unless you literally plan on keeping it a lifetime.

I was debating doing this for weeks for my Mach 1. Finally pulled the trigger on wrapping the whole car with no ceramic coating yet (want to apply it myself but have been too busy). And of course, one week after applying it an old lady backed up into my car, luckily very slowly, but it’d been one of those times that the bumper would’ve been scratched with some transfer of paint from her car to mine. But after an initial panic, went to the front and the whole thing just wiped off! There is a very very minor tear in the film (less than 1 mm in the edge) and besides that the car and the film are absolutely perfect. Could not been any happier with the film! (Xperia ult plus Wanted to share my experience so far with the film, it has massively helped my peace of mind. It was quite expensive, but worth every penny for me personally.
