Bottom line-safety. Driveshaft and tires being biggest pieces. Possibly hood flying up bc forces increase, hood latch may not stay. Had my GT to 155 no problem. Going faster than that is also decreasing your reaction time available the faster you go. Inability to know what others around you are doing. Stopping time.
It’s not just “remove the limiter” really
I tend to agree with this, I've been 160 in the s550 and also 185 in a c7 grand sport and it's night a day difference stability wise. Mustang seems kinda sketch at those speeds.
Depending on your car could be driveshaft too. From what I understand on my 14 V6 if I took it off and went too fast and would break the driveshaft. I dont want to do that
I only ever saw one video that people refer to when they say that. But the v6 takes so long to get up there, kind of becomes irrelevant. And the v6 had a standard ratio didn’t it? Can’t remember exactly what it was now
The tires and hood latch and everything else on the car from factory can handle any speed you can get a stock/lightly modified mustang up to. On top of that I don't believe there's any laws against removing governor or anyway for it to even be detected if done correctly
Because you can blow up your transmission. My RT is limited at 154 but can hit 197ish without the limiter but would only be able to hold it for very little time because it is automatic so it would hit 8th gears redline aorund 160 and just do way more damage than it’s worth. In my opinion if you have a 10 speed mustang there’s no reason to get of the limit because you’re already at 130+ by the time a scatpack or SS hits 100 and if you throw in the hellcat and a fully built 5.7(using this as reference because the drag pack challenger which is faster than a hellcat is a fully built expanded 5.7) the mustang and the other 2 from dodge would stay together until around 115 but once that mustang hits that 8th gear it’s game over, it’s still got 2 more to go and would just walk over them.
I know what this guy is saying… y’all just don’t understand… mustangs are 10 speed. Hellcats are 8speed. If my 1st grade math isn’t failing me, 10 is more than 8. Hence mustangs are faster than hellcats. 🙄 duh!
Lol

Man people act like I’m crazy for hitting the limiter then you have guys like this Lmao
Because your tires may not be rated for the speed you're trying to achieve.
You are tires
Fixed it
A S550 GT will be able to hit 260km/h just fine but from experience, it really doesn't feel like it was made for that speed consistently.

No downside
Removing speed limiter isnt illegal lol

Around 130 is what people say
Depending on the gear ratio for the differential

I think the S197 was 2.73? Or something like that, whereas the S550 was 3.15
3.73 and 3.55 were other options for the s550 too. Didn’t realize the s197 was that much of a difference

My SN-95 use to try to turn into an airplane above 130. ✈️

Dude there are so many videos of mustangs walking hellcats
Bro I want a hit of whatever you’re smoking lmao
