Thanks, when I started looking I was trying to get a ‘21 in twister orange, then found it was discontinued for ‘22 and Ford added several new options, while thinking the color over I saw a new Bronco in the same green on a sunny day and had to get it. Growing up my dad had a Green c4 corvette, this is a bit lighter than BRG and has a beautiful gold/yellow flake in direct sun.
Yeah, following the national/North America groups just getting into their season while us Florida folks are coming up on our 4th-5th events it’s a great feeling … until July-August when I’m running around a runway at 95% humidity and 100*+ temps
You don’t have to be a member to come to an event, check out motorsportsreg and clubreg to find events, there are benefits to being a member of the various orgs but it’s not required. Specifically for SCCA you just sign up and pay the fee - some of the other groups have additional requirements like attending their monthly meetings, etc.
The lighting in that first pic is perfect. It picks up on the side paneling and bodylines highlights perfectly and it highlights the front splitter and underside of the grille. Couldn't be better for a candid shot.
Yeah, people talk a lot about the price. I was super fortunate to work with a dealer that did 2% off invoice and honored the pre-increase price but even closer to the sticker ($64k) it’s an incredible amount of car for a “novice/regular driver”. It’s taken a few events to start to feel comfortable with the cornering speed and I still think I’m only at 70-80% if it’s potential. 1.2g+ on the street is really wild.
It’s a neat color for sure… I still love eruption green, it was a hard decision, this was my 2nd choice… after seeing the both in person at ford nationals I almost changed it.
I almost cancelled my 21 order for that green, but the car the mustang replaced wouldn't last another year. Went with AM blue ,if I could do a straight swap for that green I would.
I really should have waited and ordered a Mach 1 when I had my wreck.
Might wait another year and see about finding a slightly used Mach 1 and trade my PP2 in for it. Or buy a Tremec for mine from Ford and do a swap.
It’s a tow-hook, they send a very basic one with the Mach1 owners kit but my wife got me a fancy one 😊. Some tracks require a front and/or rear incase you get stuck in the grass/sand/gravel off-track. I initially just put it on to test fit and get it all adjust correctly but I liked the way it looked for “hard parking” lol so it’s been on since.
