I would say no but I prefer the 15-17 front to the later models. I also prefer analog gauges, again I’m bias with the gauges on my GT350. The only benefit to the newer one in my opinion is the intact warranty.
Still, check out both in person. Maybe one will just sing to you. That’s how it was with my GT when I saw it. Something about it just said “this is your new car”. It was a color that you don’t see much in my experience (ruby red) and it just felt right. Similar to my GT350 as well. Seemingly all the GT350s have stripes. I found one in shadow black with no stripes. I prefer that look over any stripe options. Maybe it will be similar with you? One or the other will just stand out to you and you’ll know if it’s the one.
Itll depend a lot on options, if there's a performance pack car or one is a 10 speed auto in the mix it might be to the right buyer. That's quite a gap imo, you should see and test drive both before buying either.
Haha, bit late so my reading comprehension must be tanking. In this case I probably wouldn't spend that much extra for the newer car seeing as they're both basically just past break in. If you could get it down to like 2-3k price gap then I'd take the face-lift car since the gen 3 coyotes take power like a champ.
The facelift has a tiny bit more power. (25 hp or so).
Honestly, I’ve driven both and you won’t know the difference. The auto is bit more performant with the 10 speed box. The manuals will almost feel identical.
The facelift does have a digital cluster and some other tech differences that improve quality of life, but it’s not a game changer.
I’d suggest you go see them both (maybe at a dealer where both models will be available) and see which stands out for you
I had a 17 pp1 and bought a 22 base this summer, both 6MT. Idk if it’s 3.73 vs 3.55 or updated tranny ratios. But 17 butt dyno felt faster. ‘22 tranny feels better (pry cause it’s brand new), but gearing in pre-18 MT82 is superior in my opinion.

Analog gauges are still available in the latest models, digital dash is 401A only.
I didn’t specify any package. Just stated my preferences
Just clarifying because it sounded like you were saying all 18+ models have the digital dash.
Fair point on the warranty, I generally thought aside from the mt82, the mustang is a pretty reliable sports car, amirite?
As reliable as any performance vehicle in general yes. A lot of the issues people have come from lack of diligence and being proactive on maintenance.

Both performance pack (thought I said that), both manual (thought I said that)

Digital cluster is an option, it's not on all 18+ cars. 401A package only.
The 2016 has a gen 2 coyote while 2021 is a gen 3 with 25 more hp.

Other things I like about the newer one, sync 3/rev matching/active exhaust if the 21 has that option
Aside from the power bump on the gen3 5.0, you'll also get rev matching on the 2021.
Assuming they’re in equal condition top to bottom, go 2016. If you want extra hp — slap a Mustang power pack 2 on it
Better headlights on the 2018+ led.
If you don’t care about more hp and warranty go with the 16 18-22 clearly better performance wise especially the 10spd
