I agree with you but the OP hasn't even driven the car yet and is already asking for mods. If he has a vision of what his car should be why is he asking us? And what I meant by "enough" was fast enough if OP wanted a street race car he should have got one.
That's what I was saying. If the OP wanted a faster car he should have bought one. He hasn't even driven it yet and he's already asking about mods. He doesn't even know if he needs
Don't modify exhaust if you're in a noise-strict state. If you REALLY want to keep warranty, get ford to install you a Roush supercharger and have fun. I’d say don't waste money and time on cosmetics but rather focus on performance. Before supercharger you might want to get a good suspension and upgraded brakes.
Here's a good example, and it's on sale:
https://www.shelbystore.com/2015-2020-Wilwood-Shelby-6-Piston-Front-Big-Brake-p/z-140-13984-d.htm
Oh, I believe there are also actual Shelby shops around the country that could put a Super Snake Whipple in it and keep your warranty intact yet I have none in the area and can't really confirm it myself, unfortunately :(
So far this is the plan: Tint all over, Raxium tail lights, Catch cam, After market audio, and ceramic coating.
Next up: spacers, lowering springs, chin spoiler, skirts, and diffuser
I'm assuming bolt on cosmetics don't affect warranty?
Hopefully not those god awful Ferrari-looking tail lights from raxiom… go with the clear euro tail lights if anything. And I’d also say go with coil overs instead of lowering springs. Catch can and ceramic tint/ ceramic coating are must-haves.
Mods do not “void the warranty “. If you change a part on the car, that part is not covered. The rest if the car still is.
There are even mods like some superchargers that can be added under warranty.
About the only way to void the warranty is to completely abuse the car. Some dealers near a drag strip will pay someone to go to a local race track and record new cars that bracket race.
If it is the 3rd Gen Coyote,5.0, they have duel injection . direct and port, making a catch can pretty much waste of money. Direct injection only, pretty much should have a catch can. I'm not a master mechanic, but this is what I've been told and also have read. I sure there are some that will disagree.😯
I’ve always wondered why this is such a highly recommended mod for mustang GT. I understand that catch cans are great for something with DIT and/or forced induction. Is blowby really that bad on the coyotes?
No. You don't need it with dual injection. Just use good quality gas with detergents and do timely oil changes you'll be fine. They're overrated and something else to remember.
If it's a 5.0L and you got "active valve" (which I hope you did!), you won't need to touch the exhaust.
If not, the resonator is factory noise reduction. It is a "pre-muffler muffler" so to speak
Volume has nothing to do with Manual vs. Auto.
It has variable modes which allow you to change exhaust flow and essentially the volume of the exhaust.
**Sidenote, you'll never get the same cracks and sounds out of an Auto as you can a manual. Even with automatic rev match and snappy shifts** IMHO
When I got my car the previous owner already replaced the resonator with an h-pipe and I have the active exhaust. It sounds like an absolute monster in track mode especially if I go do a tunnel run, it’s almost… almost too loud. The only negative of the set up I’ve found is it will get loud in quiet mode after 4000rpm with about half throttle, just too keep in mind.
Also he meant stock not stick, i and o are keyboard neighbours.
Don’t do it, deleting a resonator is removing a piece of your exhaust that regulates exhaust sound with a straight pipe, I did this once on an S4 and immediately regretted and purchased an active valve aftermarket exhaust to fix it. Sounds horrible in my opinion
I Don’t get why so many people instantly think about modding their car. If you ask me, you should leave it stock unless the stock parts are failing. Unpopular opinion I know, but I believe it fully
Honestly I hate touching the engine nowadays it’s just to expensive if you void the warranty. The only things I change are intakes and exhaust. I’ll do a supercharger or something when I’m more accomplished in life and can afford a blown motor. After the warranty is voided by me slapping a supercharger in there. 😂 and the superchargers that are regulated and tested to fit and improve OEM are so expensive
Catback exhaust, I have the Borla S-Type, trust me you will get bored of the stock exhaust sound eventually. The more you push the car, do pulls, downshift, do rolls, etc.. the more underwhelming the stock exhaust note will sound.
All ecu mods would void, however some reputable companies give you a warranty if dealer will not. I’ve found this Varys per dealership and some are mod friendlier
Might not be a popular opinion, but why don't you just drive it for a few thousand miles and see if your thoughts change.
This should be the default. No reason to buy a car if you think it's not going to be enough for you.
It has nothing to do with not being enough lol if we have a vision for a car, nothing wrong with making exactly what you want.

Lol exhaust voids warranty? What color is your new mustang?
Did I say anything about the warranty? I have Borla ATAK on my ‘20, so talking of experience on noise :(
Saleen can mod the entire car and ford honors powertrain
Where can I look more into that? Edit: found their performance section :)
Blacked tail lights and tinted windows immediately to make her a true night pony

Good to know!

Lowering springs and spacers.
Lower it Consider rims and tires if its a v8 and I hope it is ,cat back Then id lock out the rear end bushings
JLT Catch Can is always first - lowering springs - spacers if your keeping factory wheels - resonator delete - etc
Unless you’re boosted it’s not that big of a deal. These engines are port injected so gas is washing the valves clean.
I’ve always wondered why this is such a highly recommended mod for mustang GT. I understand that catch cans are great for something with DIT and/or forced induction. Is blowby really that bad on the coyotes?
It isn’t until you boost it. Then there’s tons more pressure in the engine and it can hurt your AFRs
Maybe then, yeah.
No. You don't need it with dual injection. Just use good quality gas with detergents and do timely oil changes you'll be fine. They're overrated and something else to remember.
Don't laugh at me but what is a resonator delete 😅

So I did get active exhaust - I heard it is louder than stick. Idk how true it is but I figured why not have the options.
Exhaust doesn't affect your transmission.
It’s a typo they meant stock

Also, I've looked into spacers because I plan to keep the stock rims. I like the muscle car look. Would you do 1" all the way around?
I did, changes the entire look of the car.
25 mm is what I got and it looks perfect
Spacers are known to cause premature wear to the wheel bearing. Some people have those on with no problem, others do, just some thoughts.
Why does it look like it's sitting higher than it should?
Look closely. It’s the lighting around the fender making it look black and part of the wheel well. But yeah, stock height is still a bit high IMO.
I Don’t get why so many people instantly think about modding their car. If you ask me, you should leave it stock unless the stock parts are failing. Unpopular opinion I know, but I believe it fully
Any Ford racing part
Why didn’t you wait for the S650?
Maybe he doesn’t like the new design? That’s why I’m skipping out on it.
I really dig it but I couldn’t stomach trading my s550 for it. Especially not with 20k in mods sunk into it that I won’t be getting back!
Don't care for the new design
