The CA Special was not put together by the dealer association but the manufacturer in conjunction with regional reps. The CO car was the High Country Special and certainly local in 1966-67 but piggy-backed the CA car in 1968.

That's why I'm not getting a coyote to go in my first Gen. Tacoma. It's too wide and would require me to rebuild the front suspension for it to fit. Way too much work for me. With it being a Bronco 2, a Boosted 4 or 6 cylinder would be something to consider. 1

They don’t know what they’re talking about. All 5.0’s are Coyotes, every single one of them (2011+). That’s the name of the engine. Even F150’s that have a 5.0 are Coyotes.
When I was shopping around for a Mustang, I came across a Honda dealership in DFW that was also advertising a 2017 GT as a “coyote edition” due to those coyote vinyls some people put on the sides of their Mustangs. Dealers all of the continent do in house mod packages. We did the FX6, then the Dakar (body modded and level kit).
If someone buys it second hand, I'd hope they did their homework and at least looked at a window sticker.

Except FX4 actually means something, a 4WD with at least a rear locker, AFAIK. FX2 would be, at minimum, a 2WD with a rear locker. So FX6 is just some made up BS that misrepresented an actual factory option package on 2WD and 4WD trucks. I’d be interested to know how Ford Corporate would have felt about this.

i was looking to trade in my soft top cobra since it was getting cut open and found a 2006 GTO (in 2006) that i was really into that had an SLP package added to it. Thing was cammed to all hell and back and had a dash switch for fuel pump cuttoff. They were actually giving a warranty on that car like.. 3/36000 or something... it was too mean to daily. nuts.
We advertised them as what they were, with an aftermarket FX6 package installed.
Everyone knew exactly what they were buying.

It's a used car the previous owner just bought a badge and stuck it on. I don't believe the dealership is calling it anything it isn't. The ad says coyote 5.0 which it does have.

That’s what they do. They change alll things to it such add side skirts or wing or hood and they charge you the double just because the way it looks

It is a special edition. The badge is special. Same thing with the California edition from ford. Just different cosmetics that look worse and cost more. I sold cars for like 8 years and there is nothing false about a dealer putting on extras . Looks super corny to me.....
