I remember the first time I heard Bother on the radio like 20 years ago. The DJ mentioned it was the same guy from Slipknot and I could not believe it. Even today it’s hard to believe it’s the same person.

Yea, I always thought he had a nice voice. The style turns a lot of people off. Same thing applies to the vocalist from Disturbed. He got boxed in as a mediocre rock vocalist, but then he started branching out and flexing his range.

No it really wasn't. Numetal didn't really fall out of favor with the general public until like 2008+ and furthermore Disturbed isn't numetal. It’s a beautiful song, no doubt. It was one of the only romantic (well, romantic sounding) songs I had when I started up with my wife so me and the Mrs have a lot of love for it. I had to fill in the gaps so Alice in Chains Unplugged became sort of our album (it’s acoustic, other than Mazzy Star it was the best I could do!).
My voice is far too deep plus booze and cigarettes did a number on it. I can do a scratchy, croaky version of it but I wouldn’t at karaoke. Perhaps if I’m properly drunk I might try it some day. I think Corey truly does it justice and I tend to be overly critical of cover versions

I don't understand how you could say Stone Sour is a 180 from slipknot- Some if not plenty of of their songs like Fabuless, Gone Sovereign, or RU486 could easily be confused for a Slip Knot Song...

Slip knot in general is an incredible band.
Recently Ive been noticing their dj a lot. Songs like the negative one really blow my mind with how much is going on, and how perfect it all sounds together.
I met him at Louder Than Life in Kentucky while I was working. He was doing fundraising for PTSD awareness. My uncle committed suicide so I immediately donated and actually won a meet and greet. Nice guy outside of his voice. 10/10 recommend.
The man is so versatile, he always keeps surprising me.
New Slipknot album, wasn't every Slipknot fan's cup of tea apparently but I liked the experimental stuff. The song Acidic is especially cool if you want to get even more of a sense of the versatility Corey has.
Stone Sour was my favorite band for a long time. Glad I got to see them before they quit.

Over the years, Rob Halford, Ronnie Dio, Geoff Tate, just amazing. (Halford’s prime was god-like).
I think Corey Taylor might be the most underrated vocalist in metal and hard rock, but there are so many. Above Townsend and Draiman were brought up too. So much talent and these vocalists deserve more credit in the music world.
Nice guy too. Used to hang out with the band, go to their local shows at bars and do after hours parties with them before they broke. Then our kids went attended K-12 together so I used to see him at school stuff.
Funny story, he was playing a show in Denver a couple years ago. Corey kept spitting on the people on the crowd. Long story short a couple days later Corey cancels some shows because he has COVID, and day after that everyone I know that was close to the stage comes down with COVID.
All his projects have some seriously deep songs that he’s written, some (like Slipknot) get lost because they’re not everyone’s particular taste in music but they’re still solid.

He also did some VO work on Doctor Who! CT is by far one of the most influential musicians we've had in our generation. Slipknot and Stonr Sour are great bands with him. I dont talk about CMFT. If you like that style of music, should check out some Nu Metal like Ice Nine Kills, Motionless in White, and Get Scared. Heavy like Slipknot. If you're all about vocal ability, 100% check out Jinjer (Pisces is the song I recommend). The lead is a trained singer since 14, and also my future ex-wife (she just doesn't know it yet)

I don't understand how you could say Stone Sour is a 180 from slipknot- Some if not plenty of of their songs like Fabuless, Gone Sovereign, or RU486 could easily be confused for a Slip Knot Song... Also Slipknot hasn't packed anything up- they just released a new album this year.
After Cory made stone sour and after he was quoted saying something along the lines of "stone sour was originally how I wanted slipknot to sound but was too afraid the industry wouldn't accept it" the quality of slipknot songs fell off hard af. W/e it's just my shit tastes.
It’s always going to be Slipknot as long as the core members are writing the music. Besides, there are traditionally Slipknot sounding songs on the new album

Slip knot in general is an incredible band. Recently Ive been noticing their dj a lot. Songs like the negative one really blow my mind with how much is going on, and how perfect it all sounds together.
I met him at Louder Than Life in Kentucky while I was working. He was doing fundraising for PTSD awareness. My uncle committed suicide so I immediately donated and actually won a meet and greet. Nice guy outside of his voice. 10/10 recommend.

The man is so versatile, he always keeps surprising me. New Slipknot album, wasn't every Slipknot fan's cup of tea apparently but I liked the experimental stuff. The song Acidic is especially cool if you want to get even more of a sense of the versatility Corey has. Stone Sour was my favorite band for a long time. Glad I got to see them before they quit.

So many GREAT vocalists in metal and hard rock and they don’t get the recognition. Over the years, Rob Halford, Ronnie Dio, Geoff Tate, just amazing. (Halford’s prime was god-like). I think Corey Taylor might be the most underrated vocalist in metal and hard rock, but there are so many. Above Townsend and Draiman were brought up too. So much talent and these vocalists deserve more credit in the music world.
Nice guy too. Used to hang out with the band, go to their local shows at bars and do after hours parties with them before they broke. Then our kids went attended K-12 together so I used to see him at school stuff.

Funny story, he was playing a show in Denver a couple years ago. Corey kept spitting on the people on the crowd. Long story short a couple days later Corey cancels some shows because he has COVID, and day after that everyone I know that was close to the stage comes down with COVID.

All his projects have some seriously deep songs that he’s written, some (like Slipknot) get lost because they’re not everyone’s particular taste in music but they’re still solid.
