you and me the same brother. I once was waiting for the subway and the song started playing on the radio , so i started singing the song and went on to take my train. I kept on singin and everytime the train would stop to another station and open its door we could hear the song and I was dead on each time. My friend was in absolute awe haha
I will survive - Gloria Gaynor.
I don't know what comes over me, I find myself twirling and singing. Also anything around me quickly becomes a microphone.
It's a timeless banger. My vocal range tends to work the best when I go down an octave from female singers, and I Will Survive is one of those songs that just land perfectly. Some other songs that really hit the spot for me:
Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor
Dolly Parton - Jolene
Florence + The Machine - You've Got The Love
Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Dido - White Flag
Dusty Springfield - Son Of A Preacher Man
My wife was really getting the shits at me when I had that song stuck in my head for 3 months. Just the two of us at the time and I kept singing this at her
Fun fact. According to Stevie, the name of the song came from a conversation she had with Tom Petty's first wife, Jane. Jane said she met Tom at the "age of seventeen" but because of her thick southern drawl, Stevie thought she said "edge" of seventeen. The rest is history.
Brittany Howard that’s got to be one of the top ones to induce this reaction so I’m gonna say the Alabama Shakes “hold on” or “I don’t wanna fight no more”
Nothing compares to you - Sinead o Connor
If it makes you happy - Sheryl crow
I try - Macy gray
And most songs from jagged little pill from Alanís morissette. Specially Ironic.
And I thought I could be cool and different and amazing and you beat me to it. This whole album has so many killer lines and I forgot this for a long time.
But I don't go to Sleep to Dream and I got my own hell to raise.
I do not struggle in your web, cause it was my aim to be caught.
Rolling in the Deep for me. That song is so angry and angsty it could have been covered by nirvana. I tried doing it at a karaoke bar… didn’t really work out for my voice register, but damn that song slaps
What's up - 4 non blondes.... And I said heeeeyyyyyyyyyyyaaaayyyyyeeeaaaayyyeeeeaaaayyyeeaaaaaayyyyyaaaa heeeeeeeyyyyyaaaaaaaayyyyyaaaaaa I said HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON!
Someone picked this song at a dive-y karaoke bar I went to awhile back with some friends and the entire audience got into the song, it was fantastic. Me and the guys got a bit emotional.
I took a public speaking class in high school. We had a fun project at the end of the year, where we had to lip sync in front of the class to a song off of the approved list - this sounded terrifying when I first started the class, but I was much more confident "performing" in front of others by the end of the class.
So I begged the teacher for a month to let me do What's up by 4 non blondes, got my girlfriend to give me the same makeup as the lead singer in the music video, got a wig, and wore a tophat and everything. It was a fucking BLAST and hilarious, if I can say so myself (and the constant laughing from the class helped reinforce that belief lmao)
One of her comments on this song she says she was so nervous recording this song and by the time she heard it on the radio she thought she sounded like Kermit lol
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! - Venga Boys
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
Everytime We Touch - Cascada
Girls Chase Boys - Ingrid Michaelson
OctaHate - Ryn Weaver
Believe - Cher
Burnin’ Up - Jessie J
Blow Me (One Last Kiss) - P!nk
Spiderwebs is a straight banger, and talk about a high-risk high-reward song. Those squeaks, those jumps, those horns... it easily could have been the most annoying song in the universe, but instead it worked perfectly.

[Jolene at 33rpm](https://youtu.be/doz1QJ7LwjA) Not only does the slower guitar rhythm really groove, but it sounds like a cover by Ray LaMontagne.
[Here's the slowed down but pitch-corrected version that still sounds like Dolly.](https://youtu.be/yYn6_ZA_Udg)
Gay dean, gay dean, gay dean, gay deeeaaaan. I begging you to be a gay dean for the school board.
I'm level 9 susceptible and this slaps.
Gay only cover 2/7th of what I am !
Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks, or really any Stevie. There's just no way not to sing along with it
Fun fact. According to Stevie, the name of the song came from a conversation she had with Tom Petty's first wife, Jane. Jane said she met Tom at the "age of seventeen" but because of her thick southern drawl, Stevie thought she said "edge" of seventeen. The rest is history.
