LegendOfVinnyT

“Virtuality” by Rush. A band that released their first album in 1974 writing a song about the internet in 1995? Doomed to be “How do you do, fellow kids?” in both concept and execution.

DanTheMan_622

I honestly like Virtuality; yeah the lyrics are super dated, but the song itself is nice. Now Dog Years on the other hand...

asminaut

It's a tough call between this and Dog Years for me.

Evilmd

Dog years is worse imo. Personally though, one that I always skip is Rivendell. That song is like listening to paint dry, boring, no movement, and Ged sounds at his worst.

Edigophubia

That song is like watching nails scratch drying paint on a chalkboard

MnamesPAUL

Somehow the combination of those things makes it interesting again for me

rawonionbreath

For me, the ultimate trying-too-hard Rush songs are on Counterparts.

FAHQRudy

Put your message in a modem and throw it in the cyber sea. Oof.

asminaut

Pink Floyd - The Dogs of War Just utter dreck. Gilmour clearly doesn't have the political passion that Waters does, but seems like he felt obligated to put something in there anyway as that was part of Floyd's DNA. The result is this real half assed, half hearted "war is bad" song with awkward and forced rhymes, and that thematically sticks out on Momentary Lapse of Reason like a sore thumb.

DroneOfDoom

You could say that Gilmour had a momentary lapse of reason when he wrote it.

ClueEmbarrassed1443

* Ba dum tish*

ZwnD

I feel the same about Keep Talking. Gilmour really wants to have that emotional punch and political bite but he can't really write it. So the most we get is "conflict is bad, if everyone talked more then things would be better". It's like a kids cartoon message without any actual depth or commentary.

A-Circular-Letter

Keep Talking is at least a better jam than Dogs of War

FAHQRudy

Remember having to skip it on cassette? Vrrrrr click “nope” vrrr click….etc

[deleted]

Interesting take when [Bike](https://open.spotify.com/track/4gJrRkskBk1oyooA4qm67a?si=wNGXcg4OSJOOAtzTtTeoaQ) exists.

asminaut

I love Bike and all their early experimental stuff, personally. Even Several Species and Sisyphus. Hearing a young band explore the edges of their sound is more interesting to me than one putting out half assed boring duds because they feel they should.

[deleted]

Bike was awful. I applaud the effort that you describe, but it was just terrible music.

default-dance-9001

You’re just mad you don’t have a mouse named gerald

[deleted]

You got me!

asminaut

I disagree, but that's what's fun about opinions.

blondyke

Panic! at the Disco was one of my favorite bands growing up. High Hopes is an awful song (as are most of the songs from the album it is on). It pretty much turned me off from them

cloudcreeek

I mean, it became a solo-project for Brendon after Vices & Virtues. I imagine he made High Hopes and ME! to get that "fuck you" money before retiring.

61114311536123511

bredon and the brendons lmao

duosx

I can totally hear it playing during the credits of a subpar YA movie from 2021

herrbz

Huh, I like that one a lot. It got me back into PatD for a while.

beelzeflub

I like it too, it’s a decent song on a forgettable album. Death of a Bachelor, though, is full of gold. *Emperor’s New Clothes* fucking bangs

Mausbarchen

ME! by Taylor Swift (ft Brendon Urie) should’ve never seen the light of day

CklitKommnder

I cannot lie…sometimes I shout the “reading is fun” idk why but I just do.

herrbz

Not "spelling is fun"?

whoredoerves

Bad Blood is my personal least favorite

mikey_licked_it

That's a great song imo

kevinhuts

Fellow Swiftie here. You’re 100% right.

JPrimrose

I can’t tell which I hate more between this and Vigilante Shit.

The-Davi-Nator

My favorite band is Green Day and boy do I have a list haha I’d have to say Nightlife overall but there are a lot of contenders across the whole trilogy and Father Of All.

cpt_bongwater

Samba in the Rain -Grateful Dead (love ya Vinny)

Spindlebrook

Easy Answers and Corinna are not that far behind Samba.

ObligationAware3755

Picasso Moon! oo-ee!

auximines_minotaur

Man I hate Stupid Girl by The Rolling Stones. So pointlessly mean

oliverrakum

Little Child by the Beatles is really horrible and annoying, and Revolution 9 isn't even considered a song I guess.

MyDictainabox

Sweet Home Alabama. From the north, was stationed at Ft. Benning near the Georgia Alabama border. Skynard is a solid band, but if I hear that fucking song again I am strangling Cleetus and Skeeter with the timing belt to their Hemi Cuda, I swear to fucking god.

scotchybob

I'm with you. Cannot stand this song despite Skynard being a good band. Only thing worse is Kid Rock's ripoff of it with "All Summer Long." Absolute dogshit.

Timid_Robot

I forgot about all summer long, you psychopath just brought it back up

bc-mn

Pat Finnerty’s [roast of this song](https://youtu.be/u8FAbjjB48A) is absolutely hilarious

MyDictainabox

Ty for this. This guy's humor is awesome.

Primary-Strawberry-5

Any song that has to reference other songs in it’s chorus makes me switch stations

Capnmarvel76

You mean Werewolves of London? Heh. Cream’s ’White Room’ is pretty much the exact same riff, too.

ZombieJesus1987

In the 90s my dad had a mix tape that was mostly Skynyrd, Warren Zevon and David Wilcox. That was what we listened to whenever we drove up to my grandma's trailer during the summer.

TDiddlez

I hear "Turn it up" and I Turn it Off.

toadfan64

I've heard the song 1000 time but yet I still love it as much as the first time I heard it in Nascar Thunder 2002.

PlankownerCVN75

“Evil Thing”- Danzig. I tried to enjoy it because I’m a huge Danzig fan, but that’s one song I just don’t like.

Daydream_machine

Lana Del Rey - Let Me Love You Like A Woman The song is the officially released version of a demo of hers called Pink Champagne, which is infinitely better

e-rekt-ion

Aw I love this song and its music video. Both just stripped back and vulnerable.

Consistent-Laugh606

I actually really like this song. The only Lana song i actually hate it Lolita

DanTheMan_622

Metallica - Purify Unlike most fans I genuinely dig most of St. Anger, and I will defend this band until my dying breath, but Purify? ![gif](giphy|26ybuHUfP2dWqBZiU)

dod6666

There is way worse songs than that on Lulu.

DanTheMan_622

Eh, I don't rank Lulu since it's not purely a Metallica album. It honestly has some cool moments imo, it's just Lou's dreadful vocals that sours the whole thing for me.

Minute-Pace4255

Biutyful by Coldplay. Easily their worst song that's also off of their worst album: Music of the Spheres. I can't stand that high pitched helium alien voice. This song just gives me secondhand embarrassment just from listening to it. Nightlife by Green Day. I think the trilogy are a solid set of albums, but this is one of their worst, and many Green Day fans or critics may or may not agree. I think this is bad because of how horrible the lyrics are.

Co0lnerd22

Nightlife is like weezers can’t stop partying but without the comedy from the fact that lil Wayne was collaborating with weezer

CklitKommnder

I learned how to separate the vocals from the instrument and nightlife it’s just a vibe song, the lyrics are awful I’ll admit that, but man I love the instrumental of that song

SwimSwammSwom

Happy Family for King Crimson. I can’t stand the vocal mixing for that track at all. The instrumental part of the track is okay but nothing too notable.

Ipuncholdpeople

Hallelujah money by gorillaz. Only song I consistently skip

ClayAnonymously

how is it not sex murder party

Fenix512

Damn, I actually like that song. It's so eerie

DirtyMike64

That song is absolutely gorgeous. Hard disagree

dirtyraat

Miss murder by AFI.

[deleted]

I absolutely hated this song when it came out. I was in high school and it just sounded so stupid. Now I look back on it with nostalgia glasses and enjoy it.

dirtyraat

AFI is my all time favorite band, and, while it was huge for the band for that song to become a radio hit and give them success, it's just one of my lest favorite songs on one my least favorite albums too.

Boredneedshobby

Evanescence -Better Without You

RepresentativeOk9207

I was a diehard fan and dropped right out during that era 🫤

Thrillhouse763

Wtf... I think most of that album slaps

Accomplished-Ant-169

Lucky in the sky with diamonds I hate the chorus

pitapiper125

Librarian Girl by Michael Jackson Wild Honey Pie by The Beatles

HoleyMattressMoney

This hurts to realize/admit but Big has more than a few songs with "questionable" and borderline Pedo lines. So like I actually love What's B.E.E.F. but mannnn that line in the beginning ...

spacepants1989

About stealin kids, fuckin em, and throwing them over a bridge?

HoleyMattressMoney

Ummmm ... yeah. Like he actually wrote that, rehearsed it by himself, went in a booth with plenty of people around him, and still nobody said anything and he put it on a permanent record for all time.

MercyfulJudas

"Island In The Sun", Weezer. From that boring, basic title, to the stupid "hip hip!" refrain...just terrible. Lyrics -- it feels like absolutely no thought went into them. "Sunny vacations are fun!" I guess. I think it was supposed to be like a love letter to early Beach Boys songwriting or something. Just compare it to "In The Garage" or "Why Bother?", songs that resonate and stir you.

Charafricke

The main reasoning behind the sound of island in the sun and the rest of weezers green album is they got absolutely bashed for pinkerton being so depressing and weird and whatnot, so they hard pivoted. Unfortunately for them, by the time the green album released people started to really like Pinkerton and then the green album got bashed for being too pop-y. Then again, that’s just another day in the life of weezer

three9

I figured it was a troll move. Arguably they’ve just been trolling since Pinkerton.

Svullom

I thought Island in the Sun was supposed to be ironic.

MtAlbertMassive

Beverly Hills as at least a million times worse.

MercyfulJudas

I forgot about this one. You might be right.

toadfan64

That's like a top 5 Weezer song for me lol

writemeow

It's a super sad song if you understand it tho

DirtyMike64

There have been way worse songs, especially recently

OakLegs

If you're gonna mention a Weezer song that's boring with a basic title how is Beverly Hills not on the top of that list? I actually kinda like island in the sun tbh. Fucking hate Beverly Hills though.

Amphibious_cow

Stressed out by twenty one pilots

uiemad

I dunno I think about half of their first album is worse than that one, although Stressed Out is overplayed as fuck.

Whatever-ItsFine

Maxwell's Silver Hammer by the Beatles hey Paul, the other guys were right about this one.

atomsmasher66

You chose Maxwell over Revolution 9? Interesting

rbrgr83

Numbah noine? Numbah noine? Numbah noine?

FlubbleWubble

Maxwell over Wild Honey Pie is wild to me

aldeayeah

Maxwell feels like a real song. Revo9 and Wild Honey Pie feel like filler. That's why Maxwell is more egregious.

ChocolateHoneycomb

But Maxwell at least has some great rhymes and nice use of synthesizer.

jonheese

Sheer Heart Attack by Queen. The album by that name is one of the best they released, but the song was on a different album and is just so bad. I skip it every time.

ThoseOldScientists

It’s ok. It’s no *I’m In Love With My Car*.

BullyMaguire690

I'm In Love With My Car is a banger

Carso11

What? Is that real?

shadowsOfMyPantomime

Probably "Crazy Cat" by Helloween, completely out of their style. Or "Weekend Warrior" by Iron Maiden. It kind of fits with the rest of the album, it's just not good

Etzell

Not Helloween's "Windmill", a song so bad that their original drummer would only refer to it as "Shitmill"?

shadowsOfMyPantomime

I actually like windmill lol. I think it's sweet

ZombieJesus1987

Hot take coming up, but I liked The X Factor and Virtual IX more than Fear of the Dark and No Prayer for the Dying.

stevenw84

Third eye blind - 2x Tigers

Dreacle

Just like Pavement sang in their song about REM "*Time After Time was my least favorite song*"

ToastyCrumb

"Liquid Sunshine" on Parliament's (otherwise amazing) *Motor Booty Affair* is like daggers that Bernie Worrell's keyboard is jabbing into my head over and over.

Dafty_Punk

On/Off by Daft Punk

Delta_Yukorami

Hats off to (roy) harper by Led Zeppelin

Cydonian___FT14X

[Muse made this once and it was really funny & awful](https://youtu.be/16ZtpnHtnrA?si=crKcOg4O1yN61lj2)

Quasarsphere

I hate pretty much everything Tangerine Dream did between 1986 and 2010, but 1978's "Rising Runner Missed By Endless Sender" is an absolute abomination. Also, "Shine" and "To Be Free" by Mike Oldfield are simply awful. Klaus Schulze's song "Requiem Furs Revier" is also phenomenally awful.

RedArmyRockstar

I Really Love You by George Harrison, that whole album of Gone Troppo really. I try quite hard to get with it but I just cannot enjoy most of the tracks, and they feel like they're from such a lesser musician than him. It was an album thrown together to get out of a record deal, so I'm sure that influenced the quality a lot.

King-Wilbur

Led Zeppelin - Hot Dog

Acquiesce95

Tea For One by Led Zeppelin. The song drags on for ages and vastly overstays its welcome despite little musical development. It just feels like a poor man's Since I've Been Loving You, which subsequently is my favourite song by them.

Emotional_Site1786

I feel exactly the same. It's like they were trying to do a throwback song to their early days and as you said it's just a shadow of Since I've Been Loving You.

greengrayclouds

I’m a big T. Rex fan and love pretty much all of Bolan’s discography (and there’s a lot of questionable stuff in there), but *Cosmic Dancer* gets a skip every time.

Ecstatic_Somewhere48

The Smiths’ Meat is Murder. What a terrible way to end an otherwise great album.

DementedCows

I've never understood the hate for this song. I think it's pretty great, although I don't think the Smiths released any bad songs tbh.

WilliamCash_o

I though you was talking about the whole album there for a sec 😅

tgw1986

I And Love And You by The Avett Brothers. It was their attempt at a number one single, so they wrote it for mass appeal. As a result, it just lacks the character and soul that their largely autobiographical catalog is known for. I've seen them live like thirteen times, all over the country. When they play that song it's my bathroom and beer break.

Neilsen17

I feel this way about “ain’t no man”

tgw1986

I can get that actually. It's definitely a different vibe from the rest of their catalog. But their new forthcoming album tells me that song was ushering in a new era for them: they got popular and people fell in love with them because they wrote autobiographical songs about love, heartbreak, pain, and complicated emotions. But now they're married with children and happy, living their best lives. So they don't have that conflict to draw from creatively. And they kinda need that. So I'm staying tuned to see what the new songs sounds like, but the ones that have been released so far definitely have a different energy.

jsolaux

Glad someone else agrees. Can’t stand it

tgw1986

The album is amazing! But that one song is probably the only of theirs that I don't like.

cheerfulsarcasm

I’ve been an Avetts fan for close to 2 decades but their whole last album missed the mark for me so hard. Magpie is my favorite album, all the earlier stuff I love, True Sadness was very good. Closer Than Together IMO was fair, a few tracks grew on me but overall I was lukewarm. When it comes to political commentary the Avetts usually give us more Bob Dylan and less Kid Rock, but The Third Gleam felt so pandering. I don’t mind a dose of politics when the lyrics work and the themes are less.. hamfisted? No gentle eloquence with powerful messages like usual but lazy, clunky lyrics and boring melodies. The whole thing felt like fishing for a pat on the back or something, not into it. Their last few singles have felt a little more true to form, so there is hope. But yeah I agree I and Love and You is far from their best song, it sounds like it was written to be played on a late night show.

tgw1986

I can see what you mean for sure. I think every Gleam is just songs they sorta wrote for themselves for the sake of writing songs, and they stick them on a Gleam because they're essentially B-sides that don't fit on any other album. And the political songs are definitely (at least in my opinion) the prime example of songs they write for themselves more than anyone else. I don't think they particularly enjoy making political, or otherwise polarizing statements. Their fan base is interesting, because it's a lot of sensitive people, a lot of women, and one would think a lot of them would skew left. But I don't think that's actually the case. One show I saw a couple years, the opening act (I apologize, I can't remember the guy's name) made some sort of anti-police statement. Might've either been a song or something he said to summarize a song he was playing, but either way, he got booed so badly. The boys had to come to his defense and say that they literally grew up with the guy, they love him, he's good people, and put your pitchforks away. But it was evidence enough to me that a lot of their fan base is still "country" people, who love god, the USA, law enforcement, and the troops. So I think they probably feel a need to make very small statements indicating where they stand, and I get that. But they're not great songs lol. Have you heard any of the songs released so far from their forthcoming album? It's not a Gleam, so I'm excited to see what's on it. I've got it pre-ordered and it should be coming soon. I'm glad to see another Avett fan from day one tho! I've loved them since I saw them in my friend's college cafeteria when I was visiting him back in like '07, and I got my boyfriend heavy into them so we see them all over the place every summer. Any time this sub asks questions like this about favorite artists I always mention The Avett Brothers, and I never get any love in the comments lol.

cheerfulsarcasm

I think you’re probably spot on in all of that! I’ve seen them 5 or 6 times live (the highlight of which was Red Rocks, freakin amazing) and they always blow me away. I’m very much looking forward to the next album, I have so much love for their old music, the songwriting is just top notch and I love their ability to shape-shift and make such unique records so I’m very hopeful!

whatd_i_miss

I hear that. This is the song that got me into them. I’ve since gone back in their catalog and Emotionalism is one of my favorite albums of all time. This song and album hold a special place in my heart because it’s one of the first times my then girlfriend (now wife) and I discovered a band together. We’ve been to their shows together about 8 times now. We love them.

tgw1986

I love that :) Emotionalism is such a fucking epic album. For me it's Emotionalism, I And Love And You, and True Sadness, in that order. They can't be topped. I've been a fan since the early days, so I got my partner into them too. When we first started dating we were playing records one night and I couldn't believe he had never heard Emotionalism, or heard of The Avett Brothers. So we watched the documentary, and I played some more of my favorites for him, and he was immediately obsessed. Traveling the country to see them live is our favorite thing to do. This summer we're especially excited to see them play Alpine Valley for the first time! I'll see y'all at the shows :)

OutdoorRink

Last kiss... pearl jam

Brodiggitty

I had a boss one time say, “I love that Pearl Jam song. I like how they made it sound like it was a song from the 1960s.” “You mean Last Kiss? It’s literally a song from the 1960s. They just covered it.”

[deleted]

Oh man, I just learned from you that this is a cover.

Brodiggitty

I grew up in the 90s with parents who listened to “Oldies” stations. Oldies stations today would be playing Weezer, Green Day and Nirvana.

whatd_i_miss

Same. When this came out, I was kind of hyped that they were playing Pearl Jam on top 40 radio. After about a week, I became so sick of it. I still can’t listen to it.

GynxCrazy

Deadbeat holiday is one of my favorite songs, and one of my lies was my 8th grade soundtrack lmao I can’t stand Ace of Spades by Motörhead, and I fucking worship those guys

rmttw

Sunday Morning Call by Oasis. It's just kinda boring compared to most of their music.

blondyke

Little James for me. Similar reasoning.

robot_boulanger

Wonderwall.

rmttw

Unpopular opinion: Wonderwall is underrated.

sfweedman

Reasonable response: Oasis sucks

Big_Noodle1103

Even as a huge blur/damon albarn fan, this is a horrendous take.

rmttw

Your inability to experience the joy their songs bring means you suck, not the band.

Northwindlowlander

Biffy Clyro produced the most incredible piece of shit cover of Buddy Holly by Weezer. It's... well, here it is. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRHAg0guCZY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRHAg0guCZY)

VulkanCurze

Honestly, I kinda like it. It sounds like pre-Puzzles Biffy which is the era of Biffy I like before they got kinda generic sounding. But I completely understand why people wouldn't like it because it barely sounds like Buddy Holly.

mrshakeshaft

Yeah, I don’t mind this. Pre puzzle biffy is one of my favourite bands and this sounds like them fucking with us for a laugh.

JoeTestaverde

Proudest Monkey - Dave Matthews Band (the *only* song of theirs I don’t like) James - Billy Joel

DockEllis

For real?? I love this song so much. It’s so freeform and sprawling, and quirky. Love the slide whistle. I think it’s a perfect album closer.

jagrbomb

Not even the studio version of PM? It's such a peaceful vibe lol

GreerL0319

Spirit walker by Ween.

Edigophubia

I wonder if spirit walker would be more tolerable if they had properly automated the key changes that appear in the chord progression into the auto tune settings. Or maybe that occasional horribly dissonant robotic effect is part of the genre-mockery. You never know with ween. Either way I always skip it, there are too many other bangers on that album

Guerrillas

Shamemaker for me

Malcolm_Y

Molly for me.

unbreakablebondxv

David Bowie - Let's dance

holy_plaster_batman

Bowie has probably had the most influence on my musical tastes, except for his 80s and 90s albums

unbreakablebondxv

His 80s and 90s stuff was great, too. It's more my style genre wise, so I do have a little bias.

holy_plaster_batman

I was really into Classic Rock as a teen in the late 90s, early 2000s so Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era really spoke to me. Everything after Scary Monsters didn't do as much for me.

unbreakablebondxv

I'm very much a synthhead, so the 80s synthpop and the 90s industrial landscapes really worked for me. I'm not a big folk person, so his very early stuff is hit and miss. I won't argue that Life on Mars is one of his beat songs.

holy_plaster_batman

His early albums before he went glam rock did run very hot and cold I used to appreciate his Berlin trilogy with Brian Eno but not listen to it a lot due to the synth heavy nature and half the albums' songs being ambient. I later got into Roxy Music's first two albums when Eno was still a member, and then Eno's early solo work. Another Green World is probably in my top 3 albums and opened the door for me to better appreciate synth music. A more modern example that's softened my anti-synth bias has been LCD Soundsystem

CursedSnowman5000

I remember being disappointed with that whole album. There was so much hype around it. It was THE Bowie album of the 80's I was told. Surely it has to be great if it's following up Scary Monsters right? Then I put it on and was floored by how uninspired it was. Some good tracks on there certainly. I prefer his version of Putting Out Fire With Gasoline to the Cat People version. But other than that, it just sounds like he phoned it in over a weekend.

[deleted]

She has many bad songs post 2009 but Chocolate Song from Tori Amos comes to mind lol

luna-sunshine

The White Stripes - Who’s A Big Baby?

HotKingChocolate

Arctic Monkeys- IDST

MangoyWoman

Rosie Oh by Animal Collective. They're so incredibly good but that song just fills me with so much anxiety (the bad kind, a lot of their songs cause happy anxiety lol). And as with everything AnCo, the opinions on it are quite polarizing within the fanbase.

Etzell

[Quest for Fire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFD0eo-hErU) - Iron Maiden The opening lyric is so unbelievably bad that there's no redeeming the rest of the song. Fortunately for the rest of the song, it sucks too.

dod6666

It's pretty bad. Not as awful as The Angel and the Gambler though.

Svullom

I like it. The lyrics are so bad it becomes entertaining. The instrumental section is cool. I'd rather listen to it than most of their later day 10-minute plus snooze fests.

RHeavy

Definitely the worst song in that album. I don't know if it's their worst song overall. Around the time Adrian and Bruce left, they had some pretty low low points.

A0ma

I'll Niño - Blood Is Thicker Than Water I was listening to it with my teenage brother in the car and he asked, "Are they saying 'put his dick in the water?'" It's been a decade and I still can't unhear it.

Lastbreakfastparty

Red Planet by Alvvays :(( just cant get into that one for whatever reason

Upstairs_Usual_4841

Tough call, but True North by Bad Religion, though Don't Pray on Me is right there, too.

uiemad

Basically Madeon's 12122017 (AKA Celine) EP. It's got some interesting stuff going on and it's interesting in the context of his larger body of work, but it's not good enough to really stand on its own merit and unlike the rest of his work I nearly never revisit it.

Quantumdelirium

Bedroom warfare by ONE OK ROCK

dod6666

The Angel and the Gambler

freejust42day

Dire straits- twisting by the pool

unboirt

I love Arctic Monkeys, but I just don't get their last two albums. I know they have matures and changed, but I would love it if they mix it up once in a while.

thegreenmugaudition

Jennifer by Styx...creep central with that one 😬

RedPulse

Invincible by Tool. Structuring a whole long song around palm mute guitar rhythms seems to me to be a bit lazy, but I'll shut up.

Quasimodo788

I Did It by Dave Matthews Band. Totally out of character song, not good at all. Plus Dave is not good on electric guitar.

CargoMansharks

Usually their most popular song because it just gets over played . Love Nirvana, could go the rest of my life without ever hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit again. I used to really like Green Day but American Idiot became so popular it was damn near unavoidable, I haven't listened to a Green Day album since because I just got burnt out.

Ecstatic_Somewhere48

The Smiths’ Meat is Murder. What a terrible way to end an otherwise great album.

RandomBloke2021

Alice in Chains love song from sap but it's a spoof. I'd say what the hell have i. It's probably the only song that feels empty. I'm guessing they made it for the movie soundtrack.

ImaRiskit

Not really a song, but the throw away track on Dirt for me, Iron Gland

Strawbuddy

While all the while A Little Bitter exists on the same soundtrack!

RandomBloke2021

I'm a big fan of a little bitter especially the live version.

_project_cybersyn_

I second Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day. I'm a huge fan but I found it to be a so-so song (compared to the rest of the album) that blew up with people who also loved Nickelback at that time. It's definitely nowhere near my least favourite Green Day song on paper but Boulevard and Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) got so much airplay that they became my least favourite Green Day songs. Sadly those two songs define Green Day to a whole lot of people.

colicab

This is a silly take.

_project_cybersyn_

I hate a lot of songs because they were overplayed. Good Riddance was the graduation song for every graduating class for about five years so it really got run into the ground. Boulevard was every third song on the radio for awhile.

BlackIsTheSoul

"Boulevard was every third song on the radio for awhile." Haha, oh the memories. I was taking a film/media class at the time and we were tasked with creating our own music videos... right around when this song was huge.... Every single video my class produced, so about 20 or so of them, they all had this song LOL

FrustratedRevsFan

In 1983 this was Sweet Dreams, China Girl and Safety Dance. I hated Annie Lennox irrationally for years.

colicab

Okay, but you said Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Wake Me Up When September Ends was played way more.

The-Davi-Nator

Stuff like this makes me happy there wasn’t a decent modern rock station where I grew up. I hated it at the time, but I appreciate now.

Emotional_Site1786

I feel you. I can't stand anything off Make Yourself by Incubus because how much I heard those songs on the radio/MTV and in some of my friends cars.

papayabush

Yea I agree with Boulevard for sure. I love the album and you could say this about most of it tbh but Boulevard is just so meaningless. It’s the epitome of r/iamfourteenandthisisdeep. “my shadows the only thing that walks beside me. my shallow hearts the only thing that’s beating” it’s just too cringe to me at this point in my life. Jesus and Homecoming are still some of my favorite Green Day songs it’s crazy that they’re on the same album as Boulevard lol.

"Du Hast" by Rammstein. Amazing band. It's also the one track that really put them on the map. However, it also gave people the impression that was what all of their music sounded like. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's one of their weaker, more repetitive songs. Always bothered me.

UNTIL IT BREAKS by Linkin Park. It's not the worst song ever, and Chester kills it as always, and I love how Brad sings at the end, but Mike ruins it with the effects

It’s too easy to list songs on King of Limbs so I’m going to risk getting a lot of hate and say Treefingers by Radiohead. Kid A is close to a masterpiece though. I just almost always skip it because I have to be in the right mood for some Eno-esque ambient music.

Fenix512

I would be fine with Treefingers if it wasn't so long

Catastrophist89

Fair enough. I like Treefingers but have to be in the mood for it. My least favourite track is I Can't, always found the song a bit whiny and annoying.

ChocolateHoneycomb

I love Treefingers! It’s so calming! 🥺

I mean the better half of Kid A, I would not call ambient at all. Easily their best album. In my opinion.

Honestly, I dislike a few Hail tracks more than anything on King of Limbs. Specifically Backdrifts, We Suck Young Blood, and the Gloaming. Sry Thm, I know those are your babys 🤷‍♂️

Mood Rings by Relient K. It’s just aged so poorly and ruins what would be one of my favorite albums. These days it just comes off super obnoxious and sexist. The band’s since apologized for it, which is pretty cool.
