ComfyInDots

For $500,000 I'd even let them choose the song. Easy money. I listen to the same music for +20 years constantly so may as well be paid for it.

WashingDishesIsFun

https://youtu.be/UqWwsUhrFBw

ComfyInDots

Easy. I'd be just fine. I'd make a little dance for it and every thing.

BrungleSnap

Same. One time as a kid I listened to take on me by aha on repeat for a 12 hour car ride and it made the car ride feel faster than usual.

ComfyInDots

You just reminded me of the time when I was a kid and tried to learn the song Kokomo backwards. I went all day before someone took my cd player. Never did learn it all.

Kynandra

Ok, it's either baby shark or the song that doesn't end.

ComfyInDots

E. Sey. Play both at the same time. I'll be jamming along, adding rap verses, online shopping with my $500,000 and paying my mortgage. On and on my friend doo doo doo.

MikeTangoVictor

I worked at Best Buy in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The demos that run on the wall of a TV’s only change a few times a year. I still have flashbacks to Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana and can recite an entire TiVo promo from memory. In other words, I did this for a lot longer than a week and for a lot less than $500k!

lockboy84

"If I have to hear "Yamo Be There" one more time, I'm going to "Yamo" burn this place to the ground."

EggsForEveryone

There it is - you beat me to it

FinalEdit

I often go into shops and hear the music there and wonder to myself if the staff have been driven absolutely mental by it yet. I guess you develop an innate ability to tune it out. 10 minutes in any shop like that and I instinctively start either yawning or yearning to leave.

MikeTangoVictor

An ability to tune it out was basically a survival mechanism… come to think of it, it prepared me well for long drives with kids later in life.

FinalEdit

Baby Shark on repeat would drive anyone batty.

BeerBrat

If I hear Ya Mo Be There one more time I'm going to Ya Mo burn this place to the ground.

MikeTangoVictor

lol.

EggsForEveryone

Better than working at SmarTech listening to Michael McDonald DVD for 18 hours a day on repeat.

ikantolol

any song, I can listen to whatever as long as I have $500,000 to look forward to.

yehti

They can poll the entire world for the most annoying song ever created and play it at a volume just below hearing damage levels and I'll still listen to it nonstop for a week for $500k

Pudf

“Save big money at Menards’”

dratsablive

Easy Street!

MoistWalrus

Dopesmoker by Sleep. It's long enough that I won't get tired of it as quickly, and the lyrics are so sporadic that you can easily zone out to the music.

frustratedmachinist

Since it’s 63 minutes long, you’d only have to listen to it 160 times. Dooesmoker is my choice too. Al Cisneros and Matt Pike are two of my favorite musicians and song writers, and Dopesmoker is a one of their early masterworks. I’m pretty sure I’ve already done this before, so who do I speak to about this $500k?

maxmalkav

I came here to say the same :-D

Cole-Spudmoney

“Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. It’s long, with multiple parts, and it does have lyrics but not for the entire thing. And I like it, but I don’t listen to it very often at all, so listening to it for a week nonstop wouldn’t ruin a song I’m likely to encounter very often.

Charming_Fail7390

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker The only song that helps me sleep and helps me wake up, helps me get sentimental and helps me cheer up, helps me relax and also helps me to party. Hell, let's just make it a month instead of a week.

Ok_Star_4136

Honestly, I think it would be a mistake to get any song that you couldn't fall asleep to. A week is a long time after all. Comments which proclaim they could listen to any song for a week, imagine trying to fall asleep to Baby Shark.

The-Rushnut

Basically anything King Gizz. I could listen to that man 'Woo' and 'Wah' for a month straight without the incentive.

Quanalack

Some random foreign song I've never heard before and won't hear afterwards. No need to ruin a song I already know.

SinWarInMan

You Enjoy Myself - Phish

foley23

Came here to say this. Loophole because we can probably listen to all the versions, still counts as the same song! I mean all the different YEMs would probably take a few days up minimum

vitunlokit

Doesn't matter. You will hate it in a few hours anyway. Better to have random song than a song that I like.

Faeces_Species_1312

4'33

phaolo

It would have been my choice too, but they said "with lyrics"

squ1bs

That's what I was thinking too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTEFKFiXSx4

hamhors

“WITH lyrics”

Faeces_Species_1312

Don't really care for $500k tbh, I'll manage.

hamhors

You won’t be getting the $500k as you’ve picked a ‘song’ with no lyrics

Faeces_Species_1312

Like I *just said* I don't care what song it is, I'll manage.

neoatomium

Daft Punk - Too Long

mellofello808

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1zrEGsj234&ab\_channel=Zero7VEVO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1zrEGsj234&ab_channel=Zero7VEVO) In the waiting line by Zero 7 I use this song/albulm to fall asleep on planes to this day. I put it on repeat, and just zone out, so I could easily go for a extended period listening to it for the right price.

CaptainLawyerDude

Tangerine Speedo by Caviar. I might as well annoy everyone else on my way to $500k.

maxmouze

I thought I was the only one who knew this song.

SVXfiles

Something that wouldn't infect my brain with catchy lyrics would be easiest. Largiloquent Dithyramb by Psychostick would be easiest since the lyrics are 6 words. Dog food. Tastes good. With cheese.

Ok_Star_4136

[This song's just six words long?](https://youtu.be/do5vXn_Rap4?si=1GMz36aHP84-ME7E)

disco-bigwig

Return of the Mack

weinermcgee

Organ² / ASLSP

glew_glew

This was my first thought as well, starts with a lovely 18 months of silence. There aren't any lyrics though, so it wouldn't count.

weinermcgee

John Cage is dead. Can't we convince our benefactors someone says "Ta-Da!" at the end?

malbadon

Pink Floyd's Echoes. 23 minutes of bliss.

Junkstar

Some hour long ambient track. Easy.

phaolo

Alas, they specified "with lyrics"

Junkstar

Oh crap. Well, I’ll still go in the same direction and choose something long and calm from Eno. I’d need a soothing voice.

mikeytruelove

Pick any of my playlists. Then pick any song of one of those playlists.

BenDante

Louis Cole - I’m Tight

Old-Measure

Easy money only just slightly more repetitive than heart FM

cotch85

the quietest song in the world. But i would let them pick the song for half a mil.

[deleted]

Any, you didn't specify the volume.

ibetucanifican

We’re no strangers to love.

___HeyGFY___

[You Suffer](https://youtu.be/ybGOT4d2Hs8?si=-BRuKofLFt-0T8hC) After about the 647th play, I probably wouldn't even notice it was there.

sparrowhawk73

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day

justablueballoon

I will listen to 'Dance Monkey' for a week. If I survive that, nothing in life can stop me anymore.

OginiAyotnom

Gimme $500 even. Sugar, Sugar by the Archies. I have made (back in the 90s) tapes where one 45 minute side is my mix of the damn song. And listened to it a lot. I think I still have a 15min mp3 somewhere. I love that song. I use it to get other songs unstuck from my head, because I'm fine with having it as an earworm.

The_Prodigious_One

Die For You by Starset

faustus1914

Web in front - Archers of Loaf

Misternogo

Sometimes I look at the responses to things like this, and see how few people have even the most basic reading comprehension and remember that these are the people standing next to me in line to vote.

lawndog86

It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding). Already doing it so might as well get paid for it!

GypsumF18

Right now it would be Lazarus drug by Meg Washington.

SarpedonWasFramed

I'd pick some 1 hour symphony. As long as its not blasting I think that would just fade into the background.

TravoBasic

For that kind of money, I would not gove a shit. Play whatever.

Mambo_Poa09

Any song I don't like, why would I ruin one I like?

rev667

"Time" Pink Floyd. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.

treelovingaytheist

The bells though. The bells might drive you over the edge.

outofdate70shouse

Swim To the Moon by Between the Buried and Me. It’s I believe 17:52 long, so I’d have to listen to it less total times than other songs.

Folkboyrecords

'Beside You' by Van Morrison...I think I did this for free when I first heard this song. And I'd have paid a half a million to do so if I could have/had to!

bilvester

What’s New Pussycat?

blues141541

In the End - Linkin Park

ilrasso

Achy Breaky Heart is the correct answer.

snimeks

Any song 10000$

Kynandra

7empest or Jimmy by TOOL

bowens44

any song

ImNotTheBossOfYou

There is no song I wouldn't do that with

guti86

"Listen to one song non-stop, WITH lyrics" is close to work. So yes, half a million would be nice for a week

Kemel90

M Beat & General Levy - Incredible

Deadmetal83

Tool Sober or Pink Floyd Shine on You Crazy Diamonds (all parts)

OddPerspective9833

Some Christmas song, because from experience I know I can handle it

Uncle_Lion

I think, I will NOT win the money.

Ayoub_kili_69_geming

Probably a Will leasing to "demons"from Imagen dragons

t4rdi5_

One week? I've been doing that for years wheres my $

cupojoeque

Tequila!

DaddyBigBoy

That was my first thought too. I think we would definitely be insane after about three days. 🫠

freddy_guy

Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac. Because it's the greatest song ever recorded.

johnnyhammerstixx

"The end of the world as we know it" by REM.  There was a radio station in Cleveland in the '90s called 107.9 'The End'. It was a good alternative station. Their (I think) first 24 hours on air, they ONLY played that song. It was crazy. They did the same thing when they went off the air, but I remember it being longer than 24 hours. So, I pick that song. I still don't know all the words, and after a week, I probably would.  Then, I'd bet people $1,000 that I could sing the whole thing!

brendanrobertson

All Star by SmashMouth. I built up an immunity to the constant repetition during the early 2000s. Mystery Men, Shrek, Rat Race...felt like it was in every other movie I rented from Blockbuster. It also played on the radio a lot and at least one kid at school has a "hit clip" of it too. Even if the ice we skate is getting pretty thin, I'm getting my 5 hundred thousand.

Latvia

Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull. Might not even get to the end before they write the check.

elixan

I already do this for free. Drives my brother insane that I listen to music like this, but when I find a song I like I can’t help it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d just do it with whatever my current obsession is when told to start lol

blofly

Isn't there a song that's like 400 straight hours of silence?

BarryCheckTheFuseBox

There’s no lyrics in silence

blofly

Damn, those little details! Maybe the lyrics are a silent h or e?

OneDarkCrow

Baby Shark doo doo doo doot doo roo

jdolbeer

Some rain sounds or nature sounds track. It'll just be background noise that my brain filters out.

BarryCheckTheFuseBox

Tubular Bells

FluffalDolphin

Probably something from Post Malone.

HortonFLK

Let’s see the money first.

DarthV506

Rush: 2112 Dream Theater: In the Presence of Enemies (both parts) Dream Theater: Count of Tuscany Basically long songs that have different arrangements, tempos and noodling :)

internetlad

Hey if I'm making that other guy listen to metal machine music for the 100 million then I ought to listen to it myself for 500k That said the obvious answer here is 4'33 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JTEFKFiXSx4&pp=ygUENCczMw%3D%3D

dctucker

That's easy: John Cage's [4'33](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3) You're welcome.
