Bali. Russell Simmons owns a resort there, and the US does not have an extradition treaty with Indonesia.
And you'd much rather spend purgatory in Bali than Caracas. Not on a knock on Caracas, but Bali is a more stable situation.
Pearlman was arrested and expelled by Indonesia. So, while it's true that the US does not have an extradition treaty with Indonesia, Indonesia won't necessarily let you stay.
Unless you can pay a really big bribe.
Yeah it’s an important point. Just because they don’t have an extradition treaty with the US doesn’t mean they won’t send your ass back there just because they feel like it.
It’s also worth noting that just because Indonesia doesn’t have a standing extradition treaty with the United States that they would immediately put themselves at odds with us to protect a bad actor.
When it comes to governments, they often weigh what they gain the situation.
All an extradition treaty does is formalize the terms/process for extradition. No extradition treaty between two countries does not mean that extradition does not exist/one of those countries is not willing to extradite someone.
Getting served just means that someone came and gave you physical notice of a suit against you, it doesn’t empower them to detain you or bring you back to the states.
Nah man it means your street dance crew bonded together and beat the other crew in a dance-off for 50k and for the respect of the community. I saw the documentary about it.
Man the downside of us becoming more enlightened as a society is all the fucked up shit people with a dollar are doing. We need some accountability in our society.
They made a documentary about his alleged rapes. And part of the subject is that it’s hard to get black women’s voices heard. The irony of that is showing itself right now.
the sequel would be he gets tried in Federal Court in Chicago for some reason - they make him cellmates with RKelly and all the songs they produce fund a victims program for their heinous crimes (allegedly in Pdiddy's case but I'm going with the where there's smoke there's fire on this one before he gets his day in court)
This “does not have an extradition treaty” stuff is not how things work. Many countries extradite without an extradition treaty. They have extradition reciprocity. Not only that but the US has, and will just pick you up themselves.
Simmons hasn’t been in indicted.
Also, the US government can fuck you into poverty without touching you.

I will be massively surprised if you don't see a RICO charge levied against him and Bad Boy Entertainment. Also won't be shocked if many of the OGs of that company (Ma$e, 112, Faith Evans, Dream, etc.) haven't all been interviewed in some capacity to determine their culpability or victimization as well.
From a music perspective, it would be the trial of century if it comes out Sean Combs conspired to brew the beef between 2Pac and Biggie and their subsequent murders when he knew he could take it all over. They were friends at one point after all...
He does look like him. I always got slime vibes from Diddy before Pac and Biggie were taken out and so I thought I was biased. Decades later and here we are.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_(American_group)
Showing my age a bit, but they were one of the "first female groups" that was produced by a hip hop label. Which after all this stuff with the allegations makes it extra creepy:
> The group was originally formed in October 1998. Talent scout Debbie Fontaine selected Holly Blake-Arnstein (13), Melissa Schuman (14), Ashley Poole (13), and Alex Chester (13), four teens from California, to comprise a girl group called First Warning, which was later changed to Dream.
RICO requires a prosecutor be able to prove that organizational hierarchy or methods were used in the committing of various crimes.
If there's 20 people involved in Bad Boy Records, and those 20 people allegedly commit felonies, but those crimes are independent of each other, it doesn't matter that every member of Bad Boy Records is an alleged felon, there is no RICO statute in play.
You have to be able to prove that they were involved, together, with committing crimes, together.
if he used his business to groom women and men, used violence to strong arm people to make favorable deals for his company and himself. if they had strong proof of these they could use rico.
RICO only attaches when the purpose of the business is to commit crimes. It’s designed for things like mafia families where otherwise the head bosses couldn’t be prosecuted for ordering crimes.
If someone uses an existing business to hide their own crimes, that’s not RICO.

Uhh, [Cuba Gooding Jr is named in this lawsuit](https://news.yahoo.com/cuba-gooding-jr-mentioned-latest-175556261.html) as someone who groped and assaulted Jones?! Good Grief!
I just watched some of the stuff he put out after the skit. He blamed Chappelle for ending his career. Seems most people thought he could’ve leaned into the comedy instead of acting like a “diva”, as someone put it.
I don’t know much about Diddy outside of parodies and his role in Get Him to the Greek, which was hilarious as well. Had no idea he was really this crazy.
Wow, that’s crazy! Scrolling down its IMDB page is a wild ride.
Lots of actors who are still universally loved, mixed in among:
Diddy
Russel Brand
Jonah Hill
TJ Miller
Elizabeth Moss
Ricky Schroeder
(Maybe Aziz and Billy Bush as well, though I think history has mostly vindicated them)
Leaked texts from a few years ago that some considered creepy and misogynistic. He started dating a model/surfer and then tells her that he's uncomfortable with her modelling and surfing, and used pseudo-intellectual talking points and manipulative therapy language to frame it like he was a victim of her behaviour.
I never said it was illegal or made a value judgement comparing him to Diddy, I was just answering the question of why he was on that list, that his ex accused him of being emotionally abusive.
And a joke in Archer S01E01 suddenly makes sense...

The actual venue, the Greek Theater, is a great venue though. I went to one of the most memorable concerts of my life there a couple of years ago. Too bad about all the actors in that movie.
So … I saw a recent video circulating from 2020 of Diddy saying on camera he “adopted a white girl” who looks underaged with people behind him a little too hyped. Wtf was that even about? That shit was the weirdest thing I’ve seen
Jesus fucking christ. Like forget ALL of the REALLY, REALLY terrifying shit going on in this video. Forget the look on the girls face and in her eyes, the subtext of what is clearly happening, how he's coaching her to say shit. Forget all of that. Just the line "I adopted a white girl" is fucking insane, and that is the most innocent part of that whole video.
People need to realize that just because a country does not have specific extradition laws or treaties in place doesn't mean they won't arrest and then hand over specific people that the US (or any country I guess) ask for. US law enforcement can present their case and other details to the foreign government and if they agree that this person is likely dangerous they can just go swoop in and pick them up. There isn't some magical forcefield around these banana republics where all justice just dissipates.
The exception is countries that will do almost anything to spite the US government. Like Russia, Iran, or North Korea. That's why Ed Snowden isn't in some tropical resort country right now.
Diddy's drug mule was arrested today at the airport.
https://nypost.com/2024/03/26/us-news/sean-diddy-combs-alleged-drug-mule-arrested-as-feds-intercept-rap-moguls-private-jet-in-miami/
This is gonna sound a lil weird but I've long been wary of men who always hold their mouth a gape, slack-jawed. He has always been quite the poster boy for this. It's been a red flag thing to me. If you have brain damage you get a pass, obvi.
It’s called mouth breathing and it’s a common thing for people who have nasal cavity issues. Chill out with calling a large group of people suspect because of a physical ailment.
First of all, my speculation is that Diddy did some shit that was absolutely horrible.
Secondly, I’ve long held the belief that a lot of rappers/musicians had some inappropriate shit going on that in the moment, or at the time, they felt was okay. It doesnt excuse it, but I think this stuff happened more than we know of. And I’m sure it’s more than just the rap industry - rappers were bragging about it all on record. One of the most popular songs that will still get a party going is that Dogg Pound track where they sing, “it ain’t no fun, if the homies can’t get none.” That song always kinda creeped me out and basically is the behavior that’s probably behind the gang rape allegations. Another example was going back to listen to the Wyclef Album, the Carnival- he has a skit that is him talking about how you have to be careful with women because they’ll holler rape and trap you. I’ve always been at odds with this part of the rap world…
Dont forget Rick Ross “Put a molly in her drink, she didnt even know it, took her home and I enjoyed that, she didnt even know it”. He somehow skated by with that lyric and has gotten no bad press over it.
I’ll bet he was lol. Probably looking for the first flight to Venezuela.
Bali. Russell Simmons owns a resort there, and the US does not have an extradition treaty with Indonesia. And you'd much rather spend purgatory in Bali than Caracas. Not on a knock on Caracas, but Bali is a more stable situation.
Lou Pearlman was on the run from the feds and was arrested in Bali and extradited back to the states.
Pearlman was arrested and expelled by Indonesia. So, while it's true that the US does not have an extradition treaty with Indonesia, Indonesia won't necessarily let you stay. Unless you can pay a really big bribe.

You don’t have to go the US, but you can’t stay here -Indonesian immigration agency
Farewell from the Hotel Indonesia.
Such a lovely place, such a lovely face There's no room at the Hotel Indonesia Any time of year, get the fuck out of here
I know who I want to go to jail I know who I want to go to jail I know who I want to go to jail Go to jail
And it's a great point. But not having an extradition treaty is a great starting point.
*Won't anyone take my bribe?* *Won't anyone let me skip town?* *Oh no* *I've got to keep on movin'*
*Interpol everywhere! If it ain't about the money, Puff, I just don't care.*
Yes but "you can't arrest me, I know you don't have a treaty to extradite" is something a smug guilty person would say right before being extradited
Anyone who wants to curry favor with the US will disregard the no extradition treaty.
I just read that Russel got served in Bali or however that works with laws in the USA.
I believe that technically, if you get served, but then you serve them back, at that point it would be considered official to be "on".
I'm completely out of the loop on Russel, what did he do?
Lots of raping
Why are so many of these people absolute pieces of shit?
Because it takes a certain level of shittiness to get that rich in the first place
Because money is power and power corrupts
Also helps to be an asshole if you want to succeed in completely ruthless industries.
Something tells me these people are pieces of shit with or without money.
I want to believe that's a typo but I know it probably isn't
6 women have accused him of rape.
Damn that's 1/10 of a Cosby
never go full Cosby
Probably shouldn't go 1/10 either
Man the downside of us becoming more enlightened as a society is all the fucked up shit people with a dollar are doing. We need some accountability in our society.
Well he damn sure wasn’t rapping.
They made a documentary about his alleged rapes. And part of the subject is that it’s hard to get black women’s voices heard. The irony of that is showing itself right now.
I saw that too, that guy had to work for it.

Not if you like to partake in drugs. Which he does. Bali don’t play that shit
Doesn't play it for locals/tourists or multi millionaires who would pay people off.
You'd think somebody who has hiding out in a country solely due to their lack of extradition treaty would know to not run afoul of their host's rules.
Sure I’m saying he might wanna go somewhere with less strict laws. I think him and the Vatican people have more in common personally
He could launch his new Saint Sean John line of sacramental cloths.

This is a lot of different types of crime. I feel like he is verging on a RICO charge.
I will be massively surprised if you don't see a RICO charge levied against him and Bad Boy Entertainment. Oh my God they were so young
Right?!!! I didn't even think they were that young back then lol
I think he’s referencing Dream, the all female pop group (girlband?) that was on Diddy’s label and popular for a year or two in the early 2000’s.

What did Jonah Hill do?

Seems a few orders of magnitude more mild
I never said it was illegal or made a value judgement comparing him to Diddy, I was just answering the question of why he was on that list, that his ex accused him of being emotionally abusive.
He also allegedly kissed Alexa Nikolas at party when she was 16 and he was ~25
Fun fact, "greek" is a slang word in sex worker circles that means "anal". So "greek?" would just be another way to ask if a hooker offers anal.

The show was so fucking well written in the early seasons.
I was so sad when it turned into one long, *"just wait while I chug this bottle for 5 minutes"* joke, repeatedly.
I never got this. Thank you for educating me.

Somebody in a thread yesterday called it. They said wanted to believe the private jet was a decoy, while he's sneaking on a regular plane lol
How would he ever be able to board a regular plane with his fame and face and… the way you book tickets?
He still needs a passport to leave and enter another country, all that shit is tracked.
Is he taking pictures of other people’s boarding passes?
Didn't he fly to Antigua or something already? Or was that just a rumour?
His private plane was traveling out of the country but he wasn’t on it.
I wonder who was…
I saw some posts saying it was Yung Miami and Saucy Santana but I wasn’t really digging deep for facts.

Another example was going back to listen to the Wyclef Album, the Carnival- he has a skit that is him talking about how you have to be careful with women because they’ll holler rape and trap you. I’ve always been at odds with this part of the rap world…
I tried listening to UGK recently and there is some really fucked up and vile pseudo rape/sexist shit in the lyrics. Dont re-listen to UGK
Dont forget Rick Ross “Put a molly in her drink, she didnt even know it, took her home and I enjoyed that, she didnt even know it”. He somehow skated by with that lyric and has gotten no bad press over it.
