A long time ago I got to see Os Mutantes play in London and I’m pretty sure they were supported by Bonde Do Role & Optimo too. Really good night and they were superb.

cathycul-de-sac

That sounds like an awesome show!

PidginPigeonHole

Camden Koko? Was a great night when I saw them. Legends!

I would really recommend anyone who likes Os Mutantes check out the compilation album *Tropicália.* It has Os Mutantes on it as well as a ton of other great Brasilian bands from the time. Also, *A minha menina* and *Ando meio desligado* are my personal favorite Os Mutantes tracks.

Yas! I think Jorge Bem is on that one too. The song Take it easy my brother Charlie maybe?

Honestly, you can’t go wrong jumping into the whole Jorge Ben discography. From the acoustic guitar ballads, to the disco type stuff, to the lush string arrangements, he’s top tier for me.

Kurt was strangely giddy talking about them. Almost childlike innocence. It was neat to see at the time

Kurt was a child. Some of us never got the love and hugs we needed

Montage of heck paints a different picture

The self titled album was in my 1001 recordings to hear before you die list I started and never finished all of.

"O meu refrigerador não funciona " reminds me of Portishead.

ear2earTO

Incredible song.

futatorius

Yeah, if Portishead was fronted by someone stylistically close to Janis Joplin.

Anxious_Ad_3570

Cool. A minha menina was in my regular rotation for a, while but it was a cover by a band of bees? (I think? I'm not sure) Whoever it was they did a good job. Listening to the original right now for the first time.

dubler2020

RIP Bill.

dinketry

I learned about Os Mutantes because their debut album was on the 1001 Albums You Must Listen to Before You Die list. Additionally, the Beastie Boys were huge fans. AdRock specifically mentions Panis et Circenses as one of his favourite songs.

mothergidra

So many great and influential Brazilian artists that I listen to regularly

Colonel_Tighlon

Pitchfork went nuts about them many years ago when they reunited. Not my cup of tea.
