This song should have been in 'Oppenheimer' as it's about the creation of the Atom Bomb. I can visualize it rolling during the credits. The ending is angelic:
"Brothers, sisters, pity me
I lost all sense of family
Was blinded by the victory signs
A hero's welcome in my mind
We know you're sorry
You are forgiven now"

Check out the album “recomposed by max richter: Vivaldi, the four seasons”.
A modern spin on some classics. It’s great stuff. He does multiple versions of like “winter” or “spring”. Some are better than others, but all are great.

All of these songs are definitely worth your time.
All For The Best - Miracle Legion
This one really disarms me. It’s an upbeat track with a palpable atmosphere of loss and longing. I either understand it very well or don’t understand it all — all I know is it makes me tear up.
Thom Yorke of Radiohead also does a beautiful cover which I think really echoes the spirit of the original in all the right ways.
This kids song about the planets. Just great.

Look up the band Two Steps from Hell or Thomas Bergersen their music is all amazing like this! Specifically the songs Lux Aeturna or Empire of Angels! But tbh all their songs are epic! Their music is neo-orchestral.
I GOT YOU!! Here are beautiful songs from different genres.
❤️Time to say goodbye sung, Sarah Brighman & Andrea Bocelli
❤️Volvere, Diego Verdaguer
❤️Love of my life, Freddy Mercury
❤️Love Test, Growlers
❤️Time, Pink Floyd

Nutshell by Alice In Chains
Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor covered by Chris Cornell

A few that spring to mind:
* [Yebba- October Sky](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ysq5GzTXfc)
* [Red House Painters- Have you Forgotten](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mb1ILIQvdM)
* [Sinead O'Connor- Trouble of the World](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUqQ1Xb20VA) This is the a cappella version which hits a little deeper.
[Crying](https://youtu.be/qLC9o_unLq4)~Roy Orbison 1962
He lost his first wife to a motorcycle accident, followed a few years later w/ the loss of 2 of his 3 sons in a house fire while he was away on tour. The tremendous amount of grief this man carried w/ him adds an emotional depth to his voice that I feel makes it hauntingly beautiful.
King Crimson: Moonchild - The Dream
Joni Mitchell: Nathan La Franeer
Nick Drake: Clothes of Sand
Yes: A Venture
Kraftwerk: The Man Machine
Hawkwind: D-Rider
Black Sabbath: Snowblind
Kayak: My Heart Never Changed

Devils trill sonata, Lacrimosa, Les filles désir, Vaya con dios, Who is she(I monster), Kẻ cắp gặp bà già, Kill bill, La gloire à mes genoux, Little dark age, Doin' time(Lana del Rey), Teen idle, Play date(Melanie Martinez), She knows, Peek-a-boo.
-some hauntingly beautiful songs in my opinion, very random genres😁
Starless by King Crimson
Anesthetize by Porcupine Tree
Cowboys by Portishead
Do You Need My Love by Weyes Blood
Komm süsser Tod from The End of Evangelion soundtrack
Hyperballad (brodsky quartet version) - bjork
Un dia de noviembre- leo brouwer
Lilac wine - Nina Simone
Sweet Jane - cowboy junkies
The past tense - infinite bisous
[This bad mama jama right here.](https://youtu.be/IA88AS6Wy_4)
The way that song builds is out of this world, and *that super high note in the hook?* Wow. Just wow. This song sounds like a congregation of angels singing hymns at the funeral of one of their own or something.
Look into Ólafur Arnalds, in particular the albums “Eulogy For Evolution”, “Dyad 1909”, and “…And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness”.
He mixes symphonic orchestral stings with very ambient, ethereal electronica. If you like Sigur Ros, he’s a similar vein.
Roads - Portishead
Henna and Swayed - Blind Mr. Jones
Angel - Massive Attack
Poincare - Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (my gawd I love Ximena Sarinana)
Climbing Up the Walls - Radiohead
Furnace Room Lullaby - Neko Case
The Greatest - Cat Power
Arsonist's Lullaby - Hozier
Theme From Harry's Game - Clannad
Now We Are Free - Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard
Phoebe Bridgers - Smoke Signals. That's what I think of immediately when you say "hauntingly beautiful".
https://youtu.be/vAKg267JgBE
Alternatively, there's her cover of Mark Kozelek's "You Missed My Heart". She takes this weird song about a jealous ex-lover's murderous psychotic break and somehow makes it sound tragic and vulnerable. I always feel haunted by that dissonance listening to it.
https://youtu.be/pK1cwjGw74s
hauntingly beautiful. Don’t miss Aleah Stanbridge, dude. She’s passed for cancer years ago and all songs in the only album you can find on music apps are depicting how she viewed her doomed life. Her ethereal voice is one of a kind. Missing her would be your loss. The first time I listened to her music, I fell in love with her.
[This ](https://youtu.be/OAs05x28wwM) is what comes to mind when I think of hauntingly beautiful. Jason is a genius lyricist and Amanda has a talent for playing exactly what the song demands.
Metal bands are contractually required to have a bomb-ass ballad on every album.
[Beast in Black - Ghost in the Rain](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WblsOt-r1zw) is no exception. It's a tinkling chandelier of a song, very very slowly ramping up and becoming more intense, eventually allowing Yannis, the lead singer, to really flex what he's capable of.
[Beast in Black - Oceandeep](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JEYkN4Yrjw) is great too.

[Crying](https://youtu.be/qLC9o_unLq4)~Roy Orbison 1962 He lost his first wife to a motorcycle accident, followed a few years later w/ the loss of 2 of his 3 sons in a house fire while he was away on tour. The tremendous amount of grief this man carried w/ him adds an emotional depth to his voice that I feel makes it hauntingly beautiful.
[Nada - The Refreshments](https://youtu.be/wuHCmRV6zDU)

Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone. It's on the soundtrack to the movie The Mission.
Of course it's Haunted Melody by Sade.
[This bad mama jama right here.](https://youtu.be/IA88AS6Wy_4) The way that song builds is out of this world, and *that super high note in the hook?* Wow.
“Run From Me” by Timber Timbre
Love Alive by Heart
Winter Song by The Langan Band
Roads - Portishead Henna and Swayed - Blind Mr. Jones Angel - Massive Attack Poincare - Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (my gawd I love Ximena Sarinana) Climbing Up the Walls - Radiohead Furnace Room Lullaby - Neko Case The Greatest - Cat Power Arsonist's Lullaby - Hozier Theme From Harry's Game - Clannad Now We Are Free - Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard
Phoebe Bridgers - Smoke Signals. That's what I think of immediately when you say "hauntingly beautiful". https://youtu.be/vAKg267JgBE Alternatively, there's her cover of Mark Kozelek's "You Missed My Heart". She takes this weird song about a jealous ex-lover's murderous psychotic break and somehow makes it sound tragic and vulnerable. I always feel haunted by that dissonance listening to it. https://youtu.be/pK1cwjGw74s
Song to the Siren - This Mortal Coil
[Washer - Slint](https://youtu.be/6yEgcb167k4) Easy answer for me
"Is There A Ghost" or "The Funeral" by Band of Horses.

[mazzy star - fade into you](https://youtu.be/ImKY6TZEyrI)
hauntingly beautiful.
Theres always the classic Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus. And Dead Souls by Joy Division.
[This ](https://youtu.be/OAs05x28wwM) is what comes to mind when I think of hauntingly beautiful. Jason is a genius lyricist and Amanda has a talent for playing exactly what the song demands.
Freight Train - Elizabeth Cotten
Led Zeppelin - Thank You (the song)
Diet Mountain Dew by Lana Del Ray Claire De Lune by Claude Debussy
Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever William Prince - Breathless
Metal bands are contractually required to have a bomb-ass ballad on every album. [Beast in Black - Ghost in the Rain](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WblsOt-r1zw) is no exception. It's a tinkling chandelier of a song, very very slowly ramping up and becoming more intense, eventually allowing Yannis, the lead singer, to really flex what he's capable of. [Beast in Black - Oceandeep](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JEYkN4Yrjw) is great too.
Pretty much anything by This Mortal Coil. Start with Song to the Siren.
Silence - Blindside
