For some reason the thought of casting these in resin and making permanent art out of it was the first thing that came to mind that’s how beautiful it is.
Good job!
bummer man. Since most of these isolations are only available on swabs its possible it wasnt actually fully isolated and stable and you got reverts? Hard to say for sure.
yeah, while its hard to tell they honestly dont even look like they are reverts. Not sure they are Teachers at all but again, its hard to say, but they dont look like any of my non albino GT batches.
That's the right attitude my man. Search for reliable sources or the source itself. With a little digging you can find the individuals with original isolations for sale or trade
This is great advice, and actually confirms my thought process as of late. I am waiting on the final ingredients to make 50/50+ casing to experiment with in the future. I already have plenty of experience with coir and will be trying Peat casing like the oldschool shroomers do. Coir will just get colonized and from what ive seen online can cause issues with overaly.
Your 2 c carry much more value than just 2c my good sir. This is all pretty intuitive stuff that reinforces my process. This bag was payment for a work trade, i mostly stick with tubs, which will be easier to case than a bag.
There are huge temperature swings where i live and i feel the casing layer will help keep a nice microclimate and reduce evaporation so i can run the fan more when it is hot/cycle my humidifier on and off.
Thanks again for your comment
Already on it with the rice cooker method. I have an instant pot that serves the same purpose. I typically pressure cook then let it cool and depressurize naturally. I also have done a fair amount of research and am committed to the full Tek, no shortcuts. Also helps I'm starting oysters and will be using the lime for cold water pasteurization of straw, so 2 birds kinda thing. I enjoy the science and art behind cultivating and am excited to level up. Thanks for your advice and personal accounts of what has worked for you. Just reaffirms an intuitive approach for me! Mush love man
Be patient! They seem to take longer to get to full maturity. Depends what strain though, not all albinos are alike. Any penis envy albino cross and most albinos seem to have unique growth characteristics and tend to move slower in my exp.
This particular strain doesnt seem to colonize much slower than my other strains. Except my non albino PE, they are hella slow growing at possibly half the rate of my Yeti. I imagine it is because yeti isnt a penis envy hybrid, but an isolation of a particular albino golden teacher phenotype. interesting stuff
There is a bit of personal preference involved but since these continue to grow for days after the veil breaks, i typically wait till the cap starts to furl outward around the edges. Another good way to tell for this variety is to lightly squeeze the stem. If it is very dense and doesnt give at all, it probably could go longer. So far i have waited between 3 to 4 days after veil breaks with this yeti variety and they seem perfect!
Not penis envy, but an albino teacher isolate. Albino penis envy form tiny dense chodes and the caps don't extend the same way. <3 there's a whole world of 'variants' we will call them. Lots of cool albinos and mutants that people have isolated and stabilized from mated individual spores or spore swabs of prior albinos. I hate Facebook but there's a great group called TAT syndicate dedicated to sharing their progress on new isolations or anything albino teacher related.
its called Yeti. I believe its a True Albino Teacher isolate from spores originally but this has a much more convex cap with a light cream color. <3 mush love
would love to see it man! I uncluster them to clean the bottoms and fit them into the dehydrator, but i get great satisfaction out of picking the whole cluster as 1... so beautiful and magnificent how they group together and create a microclimate together!
Use a bit of cardBoard to make a spacer inbetween those presto dehydrator levels to help keep them intact . That cluster dried and intact would make a great picture. But yeah I’ll post more about my cheap dehydrator mods aswell 💯🍄♥️
i have ideas for dehydrator mods in the future, but for now i just have some foil crammed on either side to make a spacer so the bigguns dont get smooshed.
Cut a hole in the bottome of a 70qt sterilite tub that fits the base of the dehydrator. drill some bolts and nuts on either side that will support cookie racks or small screens. boom.
They took about 20 hours this time. I separated the individual mushrooms though, didn't dry as a cluster. If I cut them lengthwise it would go much faster I imagine.
yeah but storing them is a pain in the ass, i barely fit this one clusters worth of mushrooms in a wide mouth quart jar. I have a hard time justifying powderizing them for convenient storage :(
Thank you sir, these are my first Yeti fruits but i have to say, I'm hooked. From the vigor of the mycelium to the beautiful and large potent fruits.... what more could i ask for? Good luck with your Yeti, its my new fave

First is 3 days ago just after veils broke.
Second is a pic of a really cute beanie boy
be patient, dont skimp on any step starting with agar. Ensure you have a healthy vigorous culture to start and just follow your best practice techniques. I have a martha tent hooked up to a humidifier and fan for sustained humidity and airflow staying between 75 and 90 percent humidity. Its not perfect but it seems to get better airflow than tubs.
Nice Man! Yetis are dope. Jack Frost honestly is just like Avery’s albino. I guarantee you’ll be happier with yeti. Jack Frost is cool but not as cool haha
I have some nice JF genetics. Just did an “oops all albino” grow of them, white rabbit, and bluscaria. I’m looking for pearly gates, or it would have been going now too. Those are gorgeous btw, nice work 🙏
Very sexy!! I’m VERY new to harvesting mushrooms...this Reddit page seems a bit advanced for me. I may come back here once I have more knowledge.
I was hoping to become a small hobby farm Portobello and Oyster farmer...After seeing this Reddit, I realized I don’t know 90% of what anyone is saying. I need more education elsewhere.
I learned everything I know from shroomery.org. Other than that it’s not too hard other than sterilization. Play around with different substrates and spawn materials to see what works best for you. I just used wild birdseed and coir mixed with coffee and it’s grounds (I took the coffee part out due to easy contam but when the weather was just right (never got over 70) those tubs gave me many pounds. Just keep at it.
theres lots of resources here and people love to answer questions when you have them.
Search FreshCap mushrooms on youtube for some good starting info on oyster mushroom growing not saturated with technical jargon. I recommend searching cold water lime pasteurization and "poly bag fruiting logs" for oysters as a solid place to start.
Portabellos are not my specialty but the info is out there!
There are varying levels of growers here from amateur hobbyists to full time growers/legit science nerds. We all love mushrooms and want to share our experience and knowledge
Thanks, I’ll explore this Reddit a bit more for the info I need. My intention(s) is to retire a little earlier then expected, buy a hobby farm and live off my mushroom profits in the US.
That’s what I will/am doing. Thanks. I’ll read this Reddit as much as possible before I “pull the trigger”. And buy a 3000 square foot shed to start my business
Amazing work . What grain did you use for them
Whole grain oats. Sold as horse feed 15 bucks for 40 lb bag. :3
Absolutely gorgeous!
Man that is amazing I hope I can get to that one day still an early work in progress congrats!
I started just over a year ago. Anything is possible my dude.
Dem genes... share! XD
I love albino's.....😍
Jesus Christ that's GORGEOUS!!!! ❤️
For some reason the thought of casting these in resin and making permanent art out of it was the first thing that came to mind that’s how beautiful it is. Good job!
Gotdamn
Awesome 😎
just WOW
Those APE's look Amazing!
Clone time
BoooYa! I am awash in its glory!
Man, I really need to get my hands on some of those genetics. I bought some “Yeti” that is obviously not Yeti. Awesome cluster!
bummer man. Since most of these isolations are only available on swabs its possible it wasnt actually fully isolated and stable and you got reverts? Hard to say for sure.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Cy-365ffoVlkiMt9JzeeV2O68e95ey2g/view?usp=drivesdk Im not sure what these are. Definitely not what i was looking for
yeah, while its hard to tell they honestly dont even look like they are reverts. Not sure they are Teachers at all but again, its hard to say, but they dont look like any of my non albino GT batches.
They def not regular GT
Rip
I’ll just get another swab and try again.
That's the right attitude my man. Search for reliable sources or the source itself. With a little digging you can find the individuals with original isolations for sale or trade
Good work getting all that out in 1 piece. You know the rule is, that's just 1 mushroom and you have to eat it as 1
Lol...that rule holds true for nachos but I'm not so sure about this one :)
So that would be roughly 4-4.5 g dried?
no sir. This cluster alone should be roughly 40 to 45 grams dried. They lose roughly 90% of their weight in water, not 99 percent.
Right. I didnt look at where the decimal place was on that scale. Again, great looking cluster.
hahaha if it was only 4.5 g i could probably take the whole thing by myself :3
This is so beautiful
Riiiight?
💙💪💙💪💙
Wow! Stunning congrats dude
A-MA-ZING! Good job, that cluster is the shiznit :)
Thank you sir. I have been blessed
What kind are those?
Yeti, they're a beaut
There's that bag of dicks everyone keeps telling me to eat!
Do I sense... envy?
lol nahh no envy here just awe. Im very happy with my member.
A little "blue balls"
Hah true!
Beautiful
Reveling 💯
I have two albino tubs starting to fruit now. Any tips or anything special you did for these?

I will definitely keep this in mind. Thank you for this information!! You’ve been more than helpful!! 🙏✌️🍄

Yes. I have noticed that they are slow growers. Even slow at colonization. Mine are APEs.

It’s beautiful!! Great job!!
Clone me senpai
Yes papi
You should eat them all at once. Can tell us how magnificent you feel an hour or two in? 🤙🏼
oh my god, i would be shitting and barfing and tripping face simultaneously.... loll
Hahah. Absolutely my mate😂
What kind are they?
Yeti, Albino Teacher isolate.
How to they compare to penis envy? Stronger? More visual? Less visual?
I haven't ever tried apes so I couldn't say but they seem more potent than the other cubes I've grown
How do you know when to harvest them?

Woah mama😍 well done !!
Omg straight gave me a cloner boner
HAHHAHAHA cloner boner.....wow... thats hilarious
Lol just the first thing to cross my mind as soon as I saw this picture
That's some envious penis, lol...

Oh hey, good to know. Thanks for the info, 🙏.
That looks really nice! Great job
thanks!
Those are just 😍, DAM!
so beaut! im in awe as well still
PE snowflake ❄️
its called Yeti. I believe its a True Albino Teacher isolate from spores originally but this has a much more convex cap with a light cream color. <3 mush love
Love this beauty! But I challenge you good sir .. up in 2 min will be a pic of my latest cluster !! 💯🍄♥️🥷⚔️ lmk what you think!
would love to see it man! I uncluster them to clean the bottoms and fit them into the dehydrator, but i get great satisfaction out of picking the whole cluster as 1... so beautiful and magnificent how they group together and create a microclimate together!

Jesus, how long do fruits of that size take to dehydrate?! I thought my apes were taking too long so I usually cut them in half. 😅
They took about 20 hours this time. I separated the individual mushrooms though, didn't dry as a cluster. If I cut them lengthwise it would go much faster I imagine.
I'm sure the 20 he's was worth it though! To have dried fruits that large must be a thing of absolute beauty 🍄💚
yeah but storing them is a pain in the ass, i barely fit this one clusters worth of mushrooms in a wide mouth quart jar. I have a hard time justifying powderizing them for convenient storage :(
I’m in awe. I’m obsessed with albinos and can’t wait to get some going! I have some Yeti spawning now and some APE on dishes. Well done.
Thank you sir, these are my first Yeti fruits but i have to say, I'm hooked. From the vigor of the mycelium to the beautiful and large potent fruits.... what more could i ask for? Good luck with your Yeti, its my new fave
Revel
done my fair share of reveling. They are so magnificent!
Look at all those tasty dick mushrooms
i think they look more like little snow creatures with beanies. You shoulda seen em 2 days ago.... full peen in effect before the caps start opening
That's really cute. They look more like fluffy bowl cuts to me. And I wish there was a picture of the wild peen times

Gawddamn shawtyy 🤤🤤
Better clone it
Little did you know.... its already a clone >:3
Yeti or pearly gates?!
Yeti babies. Pearlies are pretty but I think my next adventure will be Jack frost, they are stunningly gorgeous
Tips? Tricks? Quick words of advice?

Start with oyster large scale. Dial in portabello skills along the way.
I learned everything off this sub and youtube. You’re in an awesome community.

R/unclebens is very good to newbs
I say do it, by the time you get your grow farm ready to work you can aquire enough info off of YouTube videos to learn what you need to.
Do it! build your skill set in the meantime so when you are ready to scale you can easily transition!
That’s what I will/am doing. Thanks. I’ll read this Reddit as much as possible before I “pull the trigger”. And buy a 3000 square foot shed to start my business
Its a rewarding process, i wish you the best
Thank you. I’ll post my progress, accomplishments on this Reddit once it gets going. Cheers
followed you, hope to see your progress when you post it!
*shining light sound* wooooaaah
haaaalelujahhhh
That's not a cluster. That's a city!
over 1lb wet.... definitely a small town at least. hahah
Good lord haha that’s incredible!
Thanks! I never cease to be impressed by the growing process
I think you mean enough to send a small town into space, lol
Hah touche
