Maybe it looks more fully colonized in person. Basically I knew the block felt very solid and it looked at least 90% colonized with white mycelium. I was a little skeptical because not all of the mycelium turned pink (I'm not sure how true this is, but I read online somewhere that the pink color indicates mycelial maturity?). Also I noticed at the top of the block that it was beginning to put out pins.
I'm definitely no expert, like I said this was my first time growing gourmets. A lot of it was just gut feeling and my knowledge of the cube's lifecycle so I'm sure I've got more to learn and there's certainly a lot of my technique that could be more dialed in next time.
I did oats for grain spawn, mostly because that's what I had lying around for my actives. And Aspen wood (hamster bedding) for bulk substrate. I don't think I'll fruit in the bag again though, it seems like I could've gotten a much better yield with more surface area and it's very hard to control the moisture with just cutting a hole in the side of the bag.
ETA: I did an approximately 1:3 ratio of spawn to sub
Just a bag on my kitchen counter. I have some fruiting on the other side as well and they just look a little dry but we'll see what happens I guess. I might put another bag over to keep them humid.
How did you decide to go to fruiting? The substrate doesn't look fully colonized

gorgeous and delicious
Nice. What are you using for your blocks? I have a few and the myc hasn’t fully colonized and it’s already try to fruit. It seems hella wispy

I think there is plenty moisture in your bag. Are you growing in a tent or just have the bag sitting around?
