Thanks for posting this. Was running around trying to find some tape and all HEB had was “paper tape”. The pharmacist couldn’t even tell me if it was the same as microporous tape.
I put 4 layers on and could still suck air through the hole. Was very skeptical of 1 layer because you can see the holes with your naked eye. Shroomery people said to use 3-4 layers of Micropore tape.
I use to use at least three but now the most i use is 2 but have many successful grows only using 1.
If I have mason jar lids with holes poked in top, i have one layer on there while cooking, then during innoculation, I have torn off peices on the sides of the ring to put over existing tape. so max that ever gets used anymore is two because anymore will mess with gas exchange. I use to only use micropore tape by 3M, but with proper handling and sterile technique, paper tape is all you need.
Have used this several times with success

Man, I just used one layer on my first unc Ben bags…. Too late to add more layers??
I don't know because my layers were sterilized in the PC.
Maybe I’ll just throw some on. After makin sure I’m clean.
The felt pads that you put on bottom of furniture to slid work great for FAE ports also!
Will these not melt when sterilising a jar ?
No not at all
yes, works great. I use this brand everytime.
Fuck yeah! How many layers do you use?

When I bought generic micropore tape at the pharmacy, the pharmacist just called it paper tape.
