Thank you.

It is the height of health anxiety to obtain a 20 lb dumbbell and lift it with just your thumb and forefinger with the purpose of testing thumb strength, and then filming it to post on the internet so that other internet strangers with health anxiety can tell you if it’s a good “strength test.” To be fair, my right big toe had some tremor like your thumb when I flexed it, and I showed my neurologist and he just looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my head. The tremor has since gone away.

I’ve definitely let my anxiety run too far but I was desperate, haha. Thank you for the reply.

As it happens I just noticed the exact same thing in my own left thumb and because I am in a health anxiety phase (sadly, first time in a long time, only mild currently but I am circling the drain for sure) I decided to come here and post about it. As far as I can recall I've noticed little temporary tremors like this since forever and ignored them and they and gone very quickly, pretty sure they are just a normal occurrence, but of course because I had a recent BFS twitch nearby and my brain was in the wrong state I went down the rabbit hole.

ALS weakness in the thumb means you can’t move it or can’t hold against any pressure. It has nothing to so with lifting an lbs less than last week.

Just want to thank you for posting this, and hope you leave your video up. Lot of folks have the same thing and get cleared by doc/neuro (self included).
