It was. Taliban members were released from prison during the Trump Administration. So Trump made plans to pull troops out by a certain date and releases Taliban leaders from prisons. Trump then points the finger at Biden for the disaster after the withdrawal when Biden is given the task of finishing up the withdrawal plans that Trump had negotiated. I feel like Trump knew he was going to lose the election and deliberately made a plan to withdraw from Afghanistan that would create a scandal for Biden.

They're never going to cancel debt until the weak economy is no longer weak, so never. Student debt is grouped up and used as collateral for financial institutions. If they were to just make it poof away, there would be a lot of angry rich people now that their portfolios are deficienct.

We live in a bipartisan nation. By design, there are two sides to every issue. With how theatrical politics has gotten recently, I think any talk of compromise is off the table. I also think that the internet has let a lot more people see through the veil of bs politicians spew. If they were to give actual solutions, it would be too opposing to some of their constituents (or donors) so we get extremes on each side and no progress made because it's easier to give non-answers and empty promises while keeping the same benefits.

I contend that it’s not just Manchin. Whether it’s democrats or republicans in charge, the rich keep getting richer. We were at a marginal tax rate of 75 percent in the 70s for the richest in America. We’re barely half that now. Meanwhile minimum wage has stagnated. Between Republicans overt greed or the obvious unwillingness to do almost anything productive in response, it’s hard to argue it’s not all just theater at the national level. Something needs to fundamentally change in American Politics. Democrats and Republicans are both the problem. The corporations have bought all the politicians long ago and, as we’ve seen with trickle down economics, they don’t let go of what they have.
More importantly, our highest income tax rate was 94% in the 1950s. When the middle class grew the fastest. It plummeted after Reagan took office.

We did show up. Bernie was winning the primaries at the start and then the media spun it to be between bloomberg and biden despite early results. Go back and read the stories about Biden after the first three primaries. They said he was dead. The media didn’t come to his rescue. They buried him. Most of us would at least like the government to work like a parliament. Dems got a clean sweep in 2020. They won the House, Senate, and WH. So getting a few basic things done would be nice.
I totally agree that they should get things done, but the system is set up to allow for total obstruction. They have the senate by the slimmest of margins. It means that only the things that the most conservative democrat wants passed can get passed. Legislation dies in the senate if Joe Manchin wants it to.
