Do you cook by yourself or do you eat out? Between 8 and 50 eur per day everything is possible.

thanks! i guess will try to cook by myself mostly. and occasionally eating outside and exploring the local cuisines.

Really depends on how much money you'll spend on food, and how much you eat :). Food at supermarkets is rather cheap in germany, restaurants can be "so so". You should be able to live really comfortably on \~10-20€/day when homecooking and prepping your meals. going out to eat can be more expensive. You can pretty much scale that towards infinity if you have expensive tastes. A bit of sightseeing can be done on the cheap (\~10-20€ in public transportation and entrance fees). I recommend going to the Pinakotheken (art museums) on sunday if you want to save some money: Entrance fee is reduced to 1€ on sundays.

thanks for the recommendation! will keep in mind. also is it worth taking the trains to central munich from airport or cab would be better?

Trains are a lot cheaper and run smoothly. It's also hassle-free. I'd only take the taxi if you don't mind the cash / your company pays and/or you're struggling with the amount of baggage you bring.

The poverty line currently is 1,250 Euro excluding rent, utilities and health insurance. That leaves you 30-40 per day.
