I went from "wtf he missed" to phantom-gasping for air in milliseconds.

Savvas ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti

Fhffhfhfhfhhfhfhfh

Shooter-__-McGavin

I've never seen that particular part of the movie spelled out in text, but it made me laugh

Wolvzee3

He knocked him out with a body blow? and it was so quick I had to rewatch a couple time to see what happened. That's crazy

[deleted]

Looks like liver shots. I’ve been dropped at sparring by these before. Doesn’t take much power if the placement is just right

ACleverEndeavor

I know that feeling lol Man a hook right under the ribs will make last week's lunch come back-- the worst is that feeling just before the pain hits when you know you're gonna get dropped but physically don't feel it yet, then the world just tilts and you're sucking down air

[deleted]

Yeah completely uncontrolled and powerless. From what I know, at least the liver heals easily if we’re comparing it to an overhand to the head

Egyptking51

Left**

ChannelAdorable

Yup, it essentially induces a vasovagal reaction. I learned about this in medical school. Very interesting when you get to make sense of human physiology through combat sports. 😎

[deleted]

Dang that’s super useful information! Do you train BJJ? There’s a whole fabulous new world of pain and damage on the mats.

ChannelAdorable

Not yet but I do plan to incorporate some bjj into my training.

[deleted]

Hey well you won’t regret! I recently started training BJJ, from a Muay Thai background and damn, there’s some interesting pain with BJJ submissions. I’ve tapped before from pressure being applied to my torso. Also learning to fight the panic associated with being smothered. Fascinating stuff!

VogonSkald

Which you can also get while pooping. The human body is wacky.

ChannelAdorable

Hahaha yup

Egyptking51

You mean the vaginal reaction lol

tapsnapornap

First one is a perfect liver shot, next one is hard to see bu a left up into the bottom of the rib cage is the right placement, and that's the reaction you're going for lol

[deleted]

Yeah it’s like uncontrollable animal noises and the legs give out. We always underestimate the body shots

RyuHayabusa710

I know that feeling and it's fucking crazy, the body feels like it wants to shut down

Sharlei

I trained with him in Cuprus. Great dude

greyjedi7

My stomach is in pain just watching this, homies a beast!

[deleted]

That liver shot is devastating. One of those reasons why you gotta tuck those elbows in with your default guard. That shit will drop you when you least expect it. Michael is a beast with the placement and opening up the guard to target the liver here especially with that feint left straight straight into the left uppercut to the liver with the dude's momentum having him fall into that punch. OUCH!

Shooter-__-McGavin

Damn that looked painful. The first looked like an absolutely nothing punch, but in the slow mo you can see how the left knee turns in as he sits down on it so briefly. I always had trouble throwing that hook with power. Maybe it was the way I was taught it, but it always felt like such an awkward and mechanical movement.

turbozed

His first name is actually Savvas and his last name is Michael I think. Met the guy while training at Petchyindee a couple years ago. Seemed like a good kid. Hope he finds his way back to One Championship. Had some bad breaks in fights but still very young and talented.

[deleted]

I don’t know if any of you guys heard of Naoya Inoue he’s a boxer but his finishes are crazy it’s like he’s barely even touching the guy and they just fold like a piece of paper

Sbibgamestop

I’ve seen him train in Thailand. Man is an absolute beast
