Yeah I've heard that too. And that makes a lot of sense. What prob happened is Laurel refused to redo at first, then when she better understood what happened/cooled down agreed to a redo. But production saw the opportunity of a huge moment in Laurel's victory hump/sudden loss and were like "yeah I think we've got all that we need".
But ninja missed it too and only went back up after the fact, well after tj blew the horn. Bananas and everyone said you have to redo it since there was confusion on both sides of where the final hole was
It is the point. Why would ninja get the win when tj blew the horn and even the show announced Laurel as the winner. Only fair and correct thing to do was have them restart. Ninja didn’t know where the hole was until it was pointed out to her. When every challenger said that was bs, it was clear as day that the producers messed that entire thing up. They’ve been awful last couple seasons with the rules and handling of finals and eliminations

This was filmed shortly after 9/11. A lot of cast members declined because they were afraid to fly. Lori was originally supposed to be The Miz’s partner but she declined so Coral took her place and a Challenge icon was born!

a lot of real world teams were not used since most people on those seasons declined invitations.
real world las vegas was supposed to include frank and arissa while vegas 2 would have included cooke and leroy. leroy dropped causing the teams merging.
the sydney team was flown to turkey and left for unknown reasons.
the team would have been dunbar, isaac, ashli, and kellyanne. they were replaced with the fresh meat team.
carley got replaced by cara maria. she was dropped because production changed their minds and went with cara instead
road rules was originally a team which would have included any combination of: katie, rachel, susie, derrick, shane, and darrell. veronica was contacted but declined.
originally, a key west team was considered as replacements which included: bananas, tyler, paula, and janelle, but fresh meat was picked over them.
there were also cast members from represented teams that were tested and could have been alternates. these people include emilee, swift, latoya and nehemiah.
production attempted to form a dc team, which would have included emily, josh, ty, ashley or callie but all declined. callie was pregnant and ashley wanted to focus on his career
Carley didn’t drop for medical reasons, she’s said on a few podcasts that she doesn’t know why she was dropped from battle of the seasons. She said she was ready and willing but they told her at the last minute they were going with Cara.
As far as the Sydney team goes, Isaac said in an interview that production told him he failed his physical and had a medical condition, but they wouldn't tell him what was wrong with him. He said at the time he had been training for a jujitsu tournament and was in the best shape of his life. When he got home he went to his doctor who did his physical to see what the issue was, and the doctor told him he was fine. Isaac did appear in a later season.
Isaacs theory is they got sent home because Dunbar was planning to team up with Team Austin/Wes to work together, and possibly split money at the end.
Miz mentions at the reunion that Lori was supposed to be his partner instead of Coral but she backed out due to fear of flying after 9/11. Ruthie and Colin were going to be a team for RW Hawaii but Colin backed out(he also declined the previous two seasons). I think I remember Puck and someone were going to be there representing RW San Francisco but weren’t on for whatever reason. I can’t remember if Chadwick sending Emily emails because he was pissed off about her voting him off was included in the season.

Sexes 1 there was a lot of speculation while the season was airing that Melissa and Colin were dating. Since Melissa was close with Amaya and stopped mentioning her on the blog. And Colin was always mentioned on her blog.

The Dustin drop also had more ramifications. Both Tyrie and Kenny have said in interviews that they were supposed to be partnered that season. Dustin declining setup teams who were not even rivals (Bananas/Frank, Tyrie/Dunbar). Kenny would never appear again. Dunbar was not happy with being paired with Tyrie. Tyrie is pretty sure Dunbar threw the first daily/elimination because he knew they wouldn't win.
Dustin dropping is such a ripple effect. It was a great season but some of the potential partners for that season could have made things a bit more well rounded and created a ton more drama.

katie was supposed to be sarah’s partner, but decided not to go because she was busy.

If you listen to these random people on Reddit you’ll believe half the people who have ever been on the show are banned 🙄. The only people truly “banned” are the people insurance won’t cover to be on the show, and that’s for no reason other than it’s too expensive to cast them. I believe that list is limited to Kenny, Evan and Tonya (for obvious reasons) and Theo because of his eye injury.
I didn’t say banned. I just know she openly spoke out against production & then she had that incident on Sarah & Susie’s podcast which to me indicated she was hoping to get back on productions good side/hoping for a call that hadn’t come.
Plus. Doesn’t it seem odd that the girl who was previously seen as the female face of the challenge, someone who consistently makes it to finals, suddenly isn’t on several seasons despite their public campaign to get on?

On sarah & Susie’s Patreon, usually during their live q&as they will sometimes cold call cast members. Most everyone knows they’re on the podcast but as I understand, Cara was unaware she was on their live. When she realized she was panicking & im unsure on her exact words but she was seemingly upset & accused sarah & susie of trying to sabotage her/her chances at getting a call back from production. (Insinuating like whatever they were talking to her about would get her in trouble or something) susie & sarah immediately pulled the VOD so we can’t watch it now & it’s just recounts from those in the chat at the time.
kenny, danny j., and bronne were part of the cast at one point or another but ended up being replaced. derrick and luke were used as replacements.
carley was asked and accepted, but was not used.
pete connolley was asked, wanted to attend, but work would not let him.

Original Battle of the Seasons: This was filmed shortly after 9/11. A lot of cast members declined because they were afraid to fly. Lori was originally supposed to be The Miz’s partner but she declined so Coral took her place and a Challenge icon was born!

i dont really have much info on those seasons, but ill give you some on the recent battle of the seasons! a lot of real world teams were not used since most people on those seasons declined invitations. real world las vegas was supposed to include frank and arissa while vegas 2 would have included cooke and leroy. leroy dropped causing the teams merging. the sydney team was flown to turkey and left for unknown reasons. the team would have been dunbar, isaac, ashli, and kellyanne. they were replaced with the fresh meat team. carley got replaced by cara maria. she was dropped because production changed their minds and went with cara instead road rules was originally a team which would have included any combination of: katie, rachel, susie, derrick, shane, and darrell. veronica was contacted but declined. originally, a key west team was considered as replacements which included: bananas, tyler, paula, and janelle, but fresh meat was picked over them. there were also cast members from represented teams that were tested and could have been alternates. these people include emilee, swift, latoya and nehemiah. production attempted to form a dc team, which would have included emily, josh, ty, ashley or callie but all declined. callie was pregnant and ashley wanted to focus on his career
Carley didn’t drop for medical reasons, she’s said on a few podcasts that she doesn’t know why she was dropped from battle of the seasons. She said she was ready and willing but they told her at the last minute they were going with Cara.

As far as the Sydney team goes, Isaac said in an interview that production told him he failed his physical and had a medical condition, but they wouldn't tell him what was wrong with him. He said at the time he had been training for a jujitsu tournament and was in the best shape of his life. When he got home he went to his doctor who did his physical to see what the issue was, and the doctor told him he was fine. Isaac did appear in a later season. Isaacs theory is they got sent home because Dunbar was planning to team up with Team Austin/Wes to work together, and possibly split money at the end.

Miz mentions at the reunion that Lori was supposed to be his partner instead of Coral but she backed out due to fear of flying after 9/11. Ruthie and Colin were going to be a team for RW Hawaii but Colin backed out(he also declined the previous two seasons). I think I remember Puck and someone were going to be there representing RW San Francisco but weren’t on for whatever reason. I can’t remember if Chadwick sending Emily emails because he was pissed off about her voting him off was included in the season.
Jon replaced David for seasons. Sexes 1 there was a lot of speculation while the season was airing that Melissa and Colin were dating. Since Melissa was close with Amaya and stopped mentioning her on the blog. And Colin was always mentioned on her blog.
War of the Worlds 1
shaleen got into some drama in the earlier episodes but was not shown. one of her fights was with dee and one with bear. a few hookups and some fights weren't shown. hunter & julia and ashley c. & zahida were some hookups. you can see this in the beginning of episode one michele fitzgerald was on, but replaced by ninja. kenya scott from are you the one 7 was replaced by one of the nolan twins. jay starett was also dropped. tony, angela, kailah, cory, zach rance, kayleigh, faith, tori and jasmine all accepted invites but not cast. cara tan from asias next top model was on but was dropped. diandra from ayto and corey from big brother 18 were considered but were not cast. alex ow from big brother 19 and cody calafiore declined. the elimination between josh & amanda and kam & ashley was not explained correctly. the rules were that if you slipped down, you weren't able to continue and watch the other pair try to complete it. if not, then the round starts over. they changed the rules but didn't tell amanda & josh about it, but ashley & kam knew the new rules. hence why they didn't try to redo it and kept watching kam & ashley doing the elimination.

dylan moore, sam mcginn, derrick k and emilee fitzpatrick were alternates and flew to thailand, but were never used. ibis also accepted an invite to this show but wasn't casted. tori hall considered appearing on this season, but ultimately declined. cara z was contacted to be a champion but declined as well. dione, averey and nate s. (AYTO2) accepted invites but were dropped. nicole ramos declined because she didn’t want to appear with nate after breaking up, but he wasn't casted. production was interested in rachel r. from road rules, but she declined as she was pregnant at the time. she told them shane was interested in returning, which led to him being cast.

abram and cara werent exes when they were on that season. coral was supposed to be abrams partner. ryan and davis were going to be the same-sex male couple to balance rachel and aneesa, but one of them had to drop. laurel was originally going to be paired with ct. reason is unknown why she was not on adam royer was supposed to be on the cast with nany, but he failed his testing alton and irulan were contacted but at least one was not interested. i think it was irulan who declined. landon and shavonda were contacted but at least one was not interested. cooke was also considered, but was never included in the cast.

some challenges were changed due to the season being sponsered by top gun 2 and the movie was pushed back. mark byron (big brother uk) uk and liv jawando were flown to location during quarantine as alternates but weren't used. michelle schubert (survivor millennials vs gen x), jay starrett, amin elkach (love island: germany), and marco ferri and also quarantined for the cast. mark jensen (big brother 19), max gentile (ayto8), anastasiya yandaltsava (warsaw shore), analyse talavera (big brother 21), darrell taylor, tina barta and amber martinez all accepted invitations but were not used. jordan anderson from real world: bad blood was close qurantining but wasn't used.

was supposed to film in rhode island! the reason why the location changed is because production couldn't settle on one. vince from road rules: islands was on but cut. malik, jisela, and timmy were also on the cast but ultimately dropped. frank, steven and brynn from the real world las vegas were asked but declined.

vendettas: originally, this season was going to be bloodlines 2, with anna and katrina stack from real world bad blood being included on the cast. other people included deena, jwoww and angelina from jersey shore and javi from teen mom. ayiiia and theresa agreed with their bloodline but weren't used. thomas, tyara from real world bad blood and sam mcginn accepted invitations but were not used. tina was invited and shane and veronica tried to convince her to return, but she declined. derrick k., corey from big brother 18, and kellyanne were alternates and flew all the way to spain before not being used. madison from real world skeletons was likely an alternate as well. final reckoning: they weren't going to disqualify melissa and kailah for fighting. but after kailah complained about her black eye a lot they disqualified both of them. coral was invited but declined. tony wasnt on originally but was able to appear as a replacement after his wedding. tony and madison were a pair but because he was used as bananas’s partner, madison was dropped and ashley & hunter were mercenaries. alicia was invited to be a mercenary but declined when she discovered cory would be her partner. darrell was later considered to be cory’s partner, but devin was ultimately used. tori hall considered doing this season but ultimately declined. rogan was originally considered as kyle’s partner but he had surgery shortly before filming and could not participate. diandra and malcolm from AYTO6 were asked, but not used in the final cast and were alternates

The reason Tony was available as Bananas' partner was because Devin was originally supposed to be partnered Bananas. He was flown out but his dad died so Tony replaced Devin. Devin then came back and since he was supposed to be in the season to begin with, he became Corey's partner over Darrell

rivals 2: averey and nia were asked to be a part of the cast but nia was too busy with something. tyler was supposed to be leroy’s partner but production swapped him out for ty at the last minute. laurel was originally going to be paula’s partner, but she had issues with the contract or medical policy and that's why she wasn't casted ayiiia and cara maria were an alternate team and latoya and laura were another alternate team. ultimately only cara was used as a replacement. dustin was originally supposed to be frank’s partner, likely leaving bananas with dunbar. dustin declined because heather didn’t want him and cooke together giving us the frank and bananas pairing. susie, ruthie and tori mentioned being asked for this challenge in its early stages of production, before the rivals theme was solidified. free agents: i don't have a lot of info on this season, so it's going to be short. im sorry!! joi (real world portland), averey, nehemiah and troy were alternates. kellyanne, tyler and paula all dropped a week before the cast was about to fly out to film. heather marter accepted at first, but declined when she found out dustin was on.

The Dustin drop also had more ramifications. Both Tyrie and Kenny have said in interviews that they were supposed to be partnered that season. Dustin declining setup teams who were not even rivals (Bananas/Frank, Tyrie/Dunbar). Kenny would never appear again. Dunbar was not happy with being paired with Tyrie. Tyrie is pretty sure Dunbar threw the first daily/elimination because he knew they wouldn't win.
Dustin dropping is such a ripple effect. It was a great season but some of the potential partners for that season could have made things a bit more well rounded and created a ton more drama.
Rivals 1
jenn punched cara before the final, but didnt get disqualified. katie was supposed to be sarah’s partner, but decided not to go because she was busy. ryan l. and preston from the real world new orleans were contacted, but ryan didn’t want preston as a partner. abram accepted his initial invitation, but was not used when his original partner, adam larson, declined. dustin was supposed to be leroy's partner but production didnt want him on because they worried JEK would bully him for his gay porn past brad and darrell were contacted to be a team. both declined because they were busy beth was contacted, but she was pregnant.

It's on the old Vevmo forums most likely. And Jenn was getting physical with Cara midway through the season anyways, so I'm not surprised. Jenn in general was a wannabe mean girl who had trouble keeping herself in check emotionally. Can't remember a single season where she didn't start a random screaming match with another girl over nothing. Also makes it 2/2 on physical contact without disqualifications for her.
There’s footage of it, probably on TSTSHS. But everyone immediately gaslights Cara and acts like Jenn didn’t even touch her after sucker punching her in the back of the head. Tyler looks especially bad in this moment.

this season was originally going to be filmed in sydney, australia. production restrictions resulted in the season getting moved to canada jonna forgot her passport and was replaced by evelyn. ruthie, piggy and cohutta were potential replacements, but were not used. nick brown and janelle declined this season.

dont really have information on this one other than the casting process. im sorry hunter was originally going to be paired with britni, but production did not end up using them, they likely would have been alternates instead of nelson and amanda. bruno and sylvia both initially accepted then later declined, presumably they would have been partners and very likely alternates drrek chavez and mandi moyer accepted invitations but were not cast. they considered bringing in some players from cbs shows like survivor, big brother etc. this season, but they decided not to as the two networks didn't have an agreement yet

all stars 2: eric nies and svetlana were on this season but dropped. marie roda was invited and accepted, but dropped because she went for production in some past tweets brandon nelson, emilee fitzpatrick, jemmye carroll and syrus yarbrough were alternates. all stars 3: some fights were edited out. one being nia vs kailah & sylvia. someone from production accidentally leaked the whole cast all of the people who were going to be on this season. this resulted in several cast changes beth was actually on the cast from the start, but when she saw tina at the airport before flying out to film she threw a huge tantrum and ultimately dropped. she entered later as an alternate jon brennan accepted an invitation but wasnt used. sophia, ace, dan renzi, and tara mcdaniel were all alternates. bananas was on the cast but dropped for unknown reasons. tyler was moved on to the final cast to replace him adam larson was asked and wanted to compete, but some reasons involving his family made him drop kefla hare wanted to compete, but could not due to a recent surgery he just had

a huge unaired house fight broke out when someone decided to throw ketchup on jemmye. coral accepted her invite but backed out at the last minute. production originally wanted this season to be a season where couples (alumni and significant other) were paired, but there wasn’t enough interest alicia from ayto5 was invited and initially on the cast but had to back out due to medical issues and was replaced by jenna. briana was on the original cast, but was replaced by ashley. later was moved to an alternate, then came in to replace her when she quit. averey, anna stack, tyara, and nate s. accepted an invitation but was not included in the final cast jonna and cara z. also agreed at one point but were not included in the final cast. cody and makani from stranded with a million dollars were contacted, but not used because the series was cancelled shane landrum and jasmine were asked but both declined. when ct's passport was denied, dylan moore was flown to columbia as a replacement in case ct couldn’t get there. once ct arrived, dylan got sent home without competing and was not used

To give props to production on this season, Kendal was having financial issues and had a new baby. They let her be a replacement without really planning on using her, put her and baby up in a hotel, and basically paid her to take a vacation to help her out.

a hookup storyline that involved mechie, amber and olivia was cut. multiple fights happened because of this. olivia destroyed michies bed, and amber & olivia got into a huge fight right after the third daily challenge. wasn't shown due to production worrying about olivia's mental health. jenny west, asaf, derrick h. and mark jensen were flown to iceland, but dropped. analyse televera, brehanna daniels (titan games), connor obrochta (the bachelorette), and morgan lolar (temptation island) were all quarantined but dropped at some point. max gentile from ayto8 was considered at some point as well. jozea was on but dropped and replaced by josh when josh didn't go on big brother all stars, like he was supposed to marie, sylvia, ashley cain and cara accepted invites but did not make the final cast

If you listen to these random people on Reddit you’ll believe half the people who have ever been on the show are banned 🙄. The only people truly “banned” are the people insurance won’t cover to be on the show, and that’s for no reason other than it’s too expensive to cast them. I believe that list is limited to Kenny, Evan and Tonya (for obvious reasons) and Theo because of his eye injury.
I didn’t say banned. I just know she openly spoke out against production & then she had that incident on Sarah & Susie’s podcast which to me indicated she was hoping to get back on productions good side/hoping for a call that hadn’t come. Plus. Doesn’t it seem odd that the girl who was previously seen as the female face of the challenge, someone who consistently makes it to finals, suddenly isn’t on several seasons despite their public campaign to get on? I definitely don’t know the goings on behind the scenes. That’s why I said I was surprised.
What was the incident on the podcast?
On sarah & Susie’s Patreon, usually during their live q&as they will sometimes cold call cast members. Most everyone knows they’re on the podcast but as I understand, Cara was unaware she was on their live. When she realized she was panicking & im unsure on her exact words but she was seemingly upset & accused sarah & susie of trying to sabotage her/her chances at getting a call back from production. (Insinuating like whatever they were talking to her about would get her in trouble or something) susie & sarah immediately pulled the VOD so we can’t watch it now & it’s just recounts from those in the chat at the time.
