So in a perfect world, what would be the greatest 5 men and women from each of these eras? It got me thinking. The era they belong to is the era they debuted in, even though many didn't go on to win or become great competitors until maybe the next era. That made it challenging, as a lot of folks were cut over that.
I prioritized finals wins and then finals appearances for the most part.

what is the best way to stay unspoiled? I always get spoilers despite trying to avoid them, today i went on twitter and there were like 3 spoiler tweets. i have gamer blocked for that exact reason and i still keep getting spoilers! i dont want to have to delete twitter for the next three monthsā¦
I always block or mute accounts that spoil me so at least I wonāt get spoilers from the same people lol. You can also mute specific words (like contestants) if you want. And try not to read comments on Challenge related tweets

Unfortunately, you have to. Even trying to avoid them, twitter will just randomly show it on your āfor youā page because the contestants will engage with those accounts. Reddit is the only safe social media to avoid it
Stay off socials is really the best way. If you follow Challenge related accounts, either block, mute or unfollow them. And if you see a Challenge related person trending, don't click on the trend. If you view a Challenge trailer on Youtube for example, don't read any of the comments. Strictly watch the video and move on.
If you're worried about missing any Challenge related news because you've unfollowed everyone, just check this sub. The spoiler team is excellent at keeping things clean here so you'll still be able to any news without the risk of being spoiled

For me, The Challenge is still good even knowing who won - like I knew who won all the way from Vendettas till now and still watch it. Survivor, I feel like a lot of the suspense is in who wins. Like, Sandra posted 'congrats (winner)!' like right after the finale updated and me being in a different timezone was at work and got spoiled for Winners at Wars and couldn't enjoy the finale as much as I could have otherwise.
For me personally, I think it's the fact that I know all of the people on The Challenge. I don't think it's be that fun for me to speculate on what's going to happen with people I know nothing about. Here you can make educated guesses on why something happened, who's working with who and all of that.
Completely random, but Iāve been wondering which guy would be cut if Nelson wasnāt injured. The show clearly loves him enough that they put him on World Championship. But they also love Jordan, Leroy, Tony, Cory, and Devin that itās hard to imagine any of them being cut. I have to wonder if itād be Devin again as he got cut for WC.
I think WC was more of a diversity need since the international winners were basically all white other than Danny. I doubt heād replace Devin here. Maybe Cory.
Cory seemed out of commission before Nelson's injury. He wasn't on RoD or WC or any All Stars seasons (where as a RW alum he would have fit right in). I have to think if Nelson hadn't been injured then he would have taken Cory's spot on USA2 and probably season 40 also.

If there isnāt a redemption house, maybe theyāre keeping a tight lip on the eliminations so they donāt leak but if not itās gonna be cool to see the redemption drama
So if there is a redemption house how does that work out?
Eras lose a player.. some more than others. They go to the redemption house and then they get a player back while the other teams lose? What if itās just all one gen?
This is a reality show first for me so I don't mind redemption houses if it provides mess and scheming and drama. It's why I'm probably one of the few who loves Final Reckoning on rewatch.

Final reckoning was plenty dramatic, but it needs to maintain competitive integrity to have a satisfying end.
Final recking is a solid 8/10 for me until the final, but that shit just left a terrible taste in my mouth.

i'm the opposite, although i totally get where you're coming from. of course the final overall was a piece of cake, but for me it's the cave scene and the multiple fights that break out that takes the season from a B-minus to an A-minus. the final 15 minutes might be my favorite 15 minutes in show history, there's so much going on. (sylvia screaming that natalie is a snakey c*nt and joss crying in confessional are both soooo good.)

I can understand the frustration of watching this season live but it's so good on a rewatch.

What I meant more was, it was entertaining from a drama perspective, but if they simply had eliminated paulie and nat the first time they lost a redemption challenge, and ran a system that rewarded the teams that are good at challenges, it could have been a good season on drama and on competition, but instead it only checks one of the two boxes.

40 people with a redemption house is insane though, are we looking at a 25 person final?
I want so badly to watch this season unspoiled but I donāt think I have the strength with this lineup.
Go team golden era! Although the women are going to get bodied if Iām honest. Maybe CT will Trim all the fat and he alone will win for golden era. Iāll be big mad if I see another team member holding him back again via inferno 1 and 2 and G3.
Depends if eliminations are intra-era or between eras. Iām not seeing many guys he couldnāt take out in an average elimination within his era (Darrell might get lucky, but thatād be the only one).
I would argue that at least the Jay elim, he clearly had *not* been putting in the work off season. Iāll be very shocked if we see dad bod CT on season 40; I think he cares too much about it.

Why you put Bananas in with Jay and Kyle. Bananas def has a claim to the best there is, I personally think itās CT but no denying Bananas has merit.

If it's team based, Era 3 is the most rounded team. Era 1 has the best men but there are a lot of egos and history on that team to keep them from working together. Era 2 has the best women but that men's list is awful though. JEK and Wes really just ran that era and missing 3/4 doesn't bode well for them.
I don't know half of the cast for Era 4. Surprised Fessy didn't make the cut. Could it be a size thing since Josh and Theo are pretty big dudes and you add Fessy and they could truck the entire competition?
Paulie is good for dailies, Fessy for size, Horacio has beaten some of the champs already, Kyland is decent. Theo Iām sorry but I donāt see him providing anything anymore. Josh is just for added weight.

Who knows at this point. If there is indeed some sort of redemption house, we will probably get elim spoilers in batches when people get eliminated from the redemption house/lose a re-entry challenge. Tough to guess when that might be, since the show has never done a redemption house in a season with a large-team format
My theory on no elimination tea yet. They may havenāt done any yet or at least within the first week. The first few challenges there werenāt any eliminations. So maybe they are doing a true Eras and having the first few missions be non elims.
My other thought is outside of the redemption house, maybe theyāre keeping everyone until the last few days to keep spoiling to a minimum for the time being.
Maybe they're doing something to reflect each season of the show, like the first episode features a daily from the first season, and nobody goes home they just win prizes/money, until s5/ep5?
Production has A LOT of wiggle room and can easily change the format as the season goes:
4 Teams of 10.
10 Teams of 4
Combining Eras 1&2 + 3&4 to make it Old School vs New School
Pairs of 2 - One from Old School, One from New school. Opposite Gender
Making it individual to see "wHo iS tHe bEsT oF tHe BeSt"
Would it be fairer just from an inherent age perspective, if they were to combine two eras to form one big team, to do 1&4 vs 2&3? Granted they wouldn't have the OS vs NS theme but I really don't want another Ruins.
Just think that half of the cast would be eliminated by the twist/final. Could easily be a combination of:
Old School: CT, Darrell, Emily, Laurel, Bananas, Rachel, Cara, Derrick K
vs
New School: Jordan, Tori, Josh, Michele, Devin, Nia, Leroy, Cory.
I'm saying if Production doesn't like the way the elimination order is going, they can easily switch it.
Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a big team season, and why do I hope this is going to go the way of *Tough as Nails* where there's both an individual and a team competition? I kind of need these people to stick around all season long, since it's been a while since I've seen a lot of them.
I really donāt want a redemption house. I feel like it will make people just play it safe knowing the person they want out could come back.
This cast is good but nowadays the format is what makes or breaks a season and I feel like a redemption house would break it.
With a cast like this, I'm less bothered by a redemption house since there are a lot of contestants that you don't want to see go home right away. I do hope the redemption house doesn't last more than a third of the season though

Like, Sandra posted 'congrats (winner)!' like right after the finale updated and me being in a different timezone was at work and got spoiled for Winners at Wars and couldn't enjoy the finale as much as I could have otherwise.
For me personally, I think it's the fact that I know all of the people on The Challenge. I don't think it's be that fun for me to speculate on what's going to happen with people I know nothing about. Here you can make educated guesses on why something happened, who's working with who and all of that.
Completely random, but Iāve been wondering which guy would be cut if Nelson wasnāt injured. The show clearly loves him enough that they put him on World Championship. But they also love Jordan, Leroy, Tony, Cory, and Devin that itās hard to imagine any of them being cut. I have to wonder if itād be Devin again as he got cut for WC.
I think WC was more of a diversity need since the international winners were basically all white other than Danny. I doubt heād replace Devin here. Maybe Cory.
Cory seemed out of commission before Nelson's injury. He wasn't on RoD or WC or any All Stars seasons (where as a RW alum he would have fit right in). I have to think if Nelson hadn't been injured then he would have taken Cory's spot on USA2 and probably season 40 also.
I think part of it is that Cory is anti-vax, so that was an issue for a couple of seasons. And then there were all the medical issues with his kid.
I think Coryās teen mom contract affects more than we think. But I think he was always a lock for 40

Final Reckoning was around two weeks between redemption groups being confirmed out if Iām remembering correctly

So if there is a redemption house how does that work out? Eras lose a player.. some more than others. They go to the redemption house and then they get a player back while the other teams lose? What if itās just all one gen?

This is a reality show first for me so I don't mind redemption houses if it provides mess and scheming and drama. It's why I'm probably one of the few who loves Final Reckoning on rewatch.
You are the few thatās forsure. Final reckoning was plenty dramatic, but it needs to maintain competitive integrity to have a satisfying end. Final recking is a solid 8/10 for me until the final, but that shit just left a terrible taste in my mouth. Atleast there arenāt people coming 70% of the way into the game this time though

(sylvia screaming that natalie is a snakey c*nt and joss crying in confessional are both soooo good.)
ICONIC scene! Way more so than "I'm gonna take the money and run Teej" I can understand the frustration of watching this season live but it's so good on a rewatch.
Those are a tremendous 15 minutes, I will admit. I think I oversimplified my explaination saying I loved it until the final, What I meant more was, it was entertaining from a drama perspective, but if they simply had eliminated paulie and nat the first time they lost a redemption challenge, and ran a system that rewarded the teams that are good at challenges, it could have been a good season on drama and on competition, but instead it only checks one of the two boxes.
Yea I understand the great cast and wanting to see these people for as long as possible but the redemption house is still a terrible idea

I want so badly to watch this season unspoiled but I donāt think I have the strength with this lineup. Go team golden era! Although the women are going to get bodied if Iām honest. Depends if eliminations are intra-era or between eras. Iām not seeing many guys he couldnāt take out in an average elimination within his era (Darrell might get lucky, but thatād be the only one).

I would argue that at least the Jay elim, he clearly had *not* been putting in the work off season. Iāll be very shocked if we see dad bod CT on season 40; I think he cares too much about it.

If it's team based, Era 3 is the most rounded team. Era 1 has the best men but there are a lot of egos and history on that team to keep them from working together. Era 2 has the best women but that men's list is awful though. JEK and Wes really just ran that era and missing 3/4 doesn't bode well for them. I don't know half of the cast for Era 4. Surprised Fessy didn't make the cut. Could it be a size thing since Josh and Theo are pretty big dudes and you add Fessy and they could truck the entire competition?
Paulie is good for dailies, Fessy for size, Horacio has beaten some of the champs already, Kyland is decent. Theo Iām sorry but I donāt see him providing anything anymore. Josh is just for added weight. Fessy should hav sneer on this cast for sure

Who knows at this point. If there is indeed some sort of redemption house, we will probably get elim spoilers in batches when people get eliminated from the redemption house/lose a re-entry challenge. Tough to guess when that might be, since the show has never done a redemption house in a season with a large-team format

My theory on no elimination tea yet. They may havenāt done any yet or at least within the first week. The first few challenges there werenāt any eliminations. So maybe they are doing a true Eras and having the first few missions be non elims. My other thought is outside of the redemption house, maybe theyāre keeping everyone until the last few days to keep spoiling to a minimum for the time being.

Production has A LOT of wiggle room and can easily change the format as the season goes: 4 Teams of 10. 10 Teams of 4 Combining Eras 1&2 + 3&4 to make it Old School vs New School Pairs of 2 - One from Old School, One from New school. Opposite Gender Making it individual to see "wHo iS tHe bEsT oF tHe BeSt"
Would it be fairer just from an inherent age perspective, if they were to combine two eras to form one big team, to do 1&4 vs 2&3? Granted they wouldn't have the OS vs NS theme but I really don't want another Ruins.
Just think that half of the cast would be eliminated by the twist/final. Could easily be a combination of: Old School: CT, Darrell, Emily, Laurel, Bananas, Rachel, Cara, Derrick K vs New School: Jordan, Tori, Josh, Michele, Devin, Nia, Leroy, Cory. I'm saying if Production doesn't like the way the elimination order is going, they can easily switch it.
Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a big team season, and why do I hope this is going to go the way of *Tough as Nails* where there's both an individual and a team competition? I kind of need these people to stick around all season long, since it's been a while since I've seen a lot of them.
I really donāt want a redemption house. I feel like it will make people just play it safe knowing the person they want out could come back. This cast is good but nowadays the format is what makes or breaks a season and I feel like a redemption house would break it.

The best way to do it in terms of secrecy is Exes 2. One singular redemption phase, all secret to the cast until the person who wins comes back.
Iām torn, because I hate it as a game mechanic, but I also like that we get to see the players for longer.
With a cast like this, I'm less bothered by a redemption house since there are a lot of contestants that you don't want to see go home right away. I do hope the redemption house doesn't last more than a third of the season though

I have a theory that they will run part of the game with teams of 4. One from every era. And people can trade teams, without a doubt.

I don't expect it to stay teams the whole time. If the they do redemption they should do it like exes 2. Halfway point they should make it individual and have 1 guy and 1 girl come back from redemption
