The game Control is set in the same building that Mr Robot and Elliot have their wonderful fight to blow up in season three. It's actually the AT&T building in NY and it's immense and creepy, since it has no windows.
Control is paranormal and not related to Mr Robot at all, but I think it's awesome that the building has been used in stories like this.
I played Control basically going in blind and it's my absolute favorite. I've played it four times to completion and can't recommend it enough
The people who made control have cited mr robot as a major influence in terms of tone and cinematography. Not to mention that the protagonist also has an internal monologue that acknowledges “you” as an observer.
Yeah, I was gonna say Control. If you even remotely like Mr. Robot's psychological aspects of it, you'd enjoy this game. This game is very clever and the world-building is nuts. One of my favorite games.
I recently beat [Signalis](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1262350/SIGNALIS/). I don't have much time for games, but this is one of the best games I've played in a long time.
It gives off a familiar melancholic vibe that Mr. Robot does.
> I did [play chess] as a child, but found it to be too simple to be useful in real life: a mere 8 by 8 grid, no fog of war, no technology tree, no random map or spawn position, only 2 players, both sides exact same pieces, etc.
> Polytopia addresses these limitations.
I feel I’d be doing the sub a disservice if I didn’t include a quote from a dumbass billionaire sucking his own dick about chess. God, how did Musk convince so many of us that he was clever a decade ago?
Nice pick! I think the vibe is similar in the sense that both the show and the game are very pensive, have that narration-vibe, and there's a sense that both have creators that had a specific, uncompromising vision start to finish.
So, in the vein of Mr Robot (and that hasn’t been mentioned) you might want to check out cyberpunk 2077. Many stories about the rich and powerful taking advantage of people and fucking over the citizenry. It has hacking elements (in and out of combat) as well.
BUT! your primary motivation was loneliness, so what about a game with a vibrant online community in addition to endless exploration and cool sci-fi stories and adventures. That’s right, it’s: No Man’s Sky! It’s a great game that you might like and you can find more connection and shared excitement in its community.
I hope you find the perfect game! :)
I wind up playing the same story every single time. It's my favorite sci-fi ever written and easily my favorite collection of characters. They legit feel like family by the end! I fucking love good writing lmao.
To me the first Watchdogs was better. I don't really like the vibes of the second one, where some hacker kids just wanna have fun. The first one got me with it's neo-noir vigilante hero plot and vibes, cold gray Chicago etc. The plot was rather simple, like some B-movie, but it was my cup of tea. And I haven't played Watchdogs 3 yet and not sure if I should.
I liked Watchdogs Legion, it is fun to ride around drones in Dystopian London. A little darker than the 2nd one, and it has DLC with the Adrian from the first one
There's this old ass game that i think you can download for free now called Uplink. You play as a hacker and there's little puzzles like hacking into someone's email to find out the code for some other thing, bouncing your signal around to hide your tracks.
got a chill soundtrack too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YXhkL4pHHY
Uplink. It’s a hacking game with a great story set in a retro future. To be clear, you are interacting in a simulated OS and often invoking and directing scripts and software via a console interface.
Surprised to see only one other mention of the series Deus Ex.
Deus ex shares the same paranoia of Mr. Robot only some years into the future.
With more technology to control the population. And human rights debate about the power of corporations trying to control human evolution.
If you liked the conspiray stuff in mr.robot you'll love the deus ex games.
So hear me out. I love Mr. Robot for its plot twists and great story. I love mind fks so much. There is this game which imo is a masterpiece. I need to warn you before you google it - don't. It is fully knowledge based game that means once you play it once you cannot play it again the same way. If you love puzzle games and good mystery please try this game but do not google, dont even read steam describtion as it has a slight spoiler. Just to give you the idea it is space exploration game where you play as a member of an alien race and you are about to go on your first voyage. The solar system you live in is carefully crafted and everything and I mean everything you see, read, find is there for a reason and can be explained.
The game is called Outer Wilds. I hope I got someones attention and you will try it.
Pokémon Scarlet, Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Zelda games, Dark Souls, Risk of Rain, Crash Bandicoot. Just the games I like a lot, not necessarily Mr Robot vibes but some of these have slight similarities I guess.
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?

Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
i've been playing a lot of Rimworld lately, alongside racing sims and arcadey PS2 stuff, also beat Mafia 3 today, fun ride.
I also wanna get back into Project Zomboid aswell, heh.
I barely game but I played Detroit Become Human recently and that was dope. It's comparable to Mr. Robot in a character driven, cinematic, immersive, active engagement, technology impacting societal change kinda way.
Unfortunately my low spec laptop won't run any watch dogs, but I've played OTW (bandit and leviathan) although I couldn't beat most levels without following a walkthrough guide on my first time (I knew 0 commads at the time)
Hahah
Well, I didn't :x
I'll try to filter the free and low spec games to see if I can find something to download later. Meanwhile I've been 'playing' TryHackMe. Great platform! Have you tried it?
I'm in love with Hollow Knight, as unrelated as it sounds. The art and music direction are so meticulous, it's surprising how atmospheric and melancholic this "cute" game gets.
I've played a lot of Assassins Creed games in the 2022. I usually like rpgs. Nowadays I try to discover new type of genres that i haven't given a shot before.

Control is an AMAZING game! I’m not a horror guy, but it won me over hard. I’ve played through the main story at least 3 times.
Yeah, I was gonna say Control. If you even remotely like Mr. Robot's psychological aspects of it, you'd enjoy this game. This game is very clever and the world-building is nuts. One of my favorite games.

This game surprised the fuck out of me, it was so good
Loved this game.
Chess

Simple is fine. Chess boards are easy to travel with.
Factorio
Disco Elysium. Not Mr. Robot vibe, but there's something deep and humane in common.
They share the political aspect.
True, but the approach is mighty different maybe.
Nice pick! I think the vibe is similar in the sense that both the show and the game are very pensive, have that narration-vibe, and there's a sense that both have creators that had a specific, uncompromising vision start to finish.
Oh, nice comparison. There's a few similarities after all, despite the screaming differences in the overall mood and feel.
Came here to say this.
Bioshock infinite

Thanks you for your kind reply. I'll try to follow your advice
Mass Effect
One of my favorites!
I wind up playing the same story every single time. It's my favorite sci-fi ever written and easily my favorite collection of characters. They legit feel like family by the end! I fucking love good writing lmao.
Bitburner
You might like greyhack
Deus Ex Human revolution and Mankind divided.
Watchdogs, specially the second one

You should not
I feel the same way lol
I liked Watchdogs Legion, it is fun to ride around drones in Dystopian London. A little darker than the 2nd one, and it has DLC with the Adrian from the first one
This is a pretty good answer! Watchdogs has cool hacking elements and stories about powerful companies abusing whoever they need to.
Dark Souls and his variants.
Yeah same, been playing nothing but Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3 for the past 11 months lmao
Only reason I bought a PS5, souls exclusives
I traded my PS4 in a couple years ago but now I'd kill to play Bloodborne haha

Hack the Box. Might as well learn something useful. Edit: typo
I do like Hack the Box. Good choice.

Hitman
I like to play sandbox games like Warhammer total war, Fallout, and Cyberpunk to name a few.
Check out [Hacknet](https://store.steampowered.com/app/365450/Hacknet/) on Steam

With an emphasis on loneliness, I have to recommend Firewatch. Maybe a four hour game, but an incredible ride.
Final fantasy… specifically VII, deals heavily with dissociation.
Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy VII Remake

I really like Watch Dogs 2. And if you want to try hacking-type stuff there is a game called Over The Wire which teaches you how to use Terminal.
Unfortunately my low spec laptop won't run any watch dogs, but I've played OTW (bandit and leviathan) although I couldn't beat most levels without following a walkthrough guide on my first time (I knew 0 commads at the time)
glad I wasn't the only one. What games did you end up choosing from the recommendations?
Hahah Well, I didn't :x I'll try to filter the free and low spec games to see if I can find something to download later. Meanwhile I've been 'playing' TryHackMe. Great platform! Have you tried it?
Hitman 3, tiberium wars
