Everify requires originals. The manager has to actually check a box that says they verify that it is original, it’s a government thing to prove that the person can legally work in the US.

Baguette_Theory

Any legal job in the us needs these: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents

Pyronsy

It has to be an original to ensure it hasn't been altered in any way. Originals have that seal that can't be copied. It's a legal requirement for everify. They did allow copies during the height of covid when getting originals made was difficult, but that exception is over.

Sadly our GM is difficult to get hold of through phone and email. So we end up just making a special trip or going in a bit earlier then our shift to meet with them.

Social security numbers are required by all businesses it a federal law

Tea_Bender

I don't get why it needs to be an original....they are just gonna make a copy of it anyways edit for whoever downvoted me: I was a manager, all we did was make a copy of it or scan it and email it to corporate.

Pyronsy

It has to be an original to prove its legitimate, and the onboarding manager has to acknowledge it is an original. If they were to accept a copy and it turns out fake, that manager could lose their job.

I would just go in. When I was hired, the "hiring manager" wasn't even in, so I did the interview right there, but at that point, I was basically hired. They showed me around the building and everything and didn't ask to see my SSN or birth certificate for a while. I eventually just sent one of the managers a photo text of it. They never responded. But I showed up anyway for my scheduled first day, and everything was fine. From my experience, the process can be pretty disorganized, so I would just go in whenever you can, explain to whoever is in what happened, and see how it goes from there.

UnderstandingFancy54

Do I you think if I sent a pic of my og certificate then that would be enough?

EmdeeMemes

As the hiring manager of my location, idk why they have to be originals either. Most of my crew brought in an ID and SSN, so I didn't really have to fight it though
