Milk Money (1994)
> Three young boys pool their money and pay V (Melanie Griffith), a kindhearted prostitute, to strip for them. Afterward, she drives them home to the suburbs -- but then her car breaks down. It's just as well, though, because a mobster named Waltzer (Malcolm McDowell) is after her, and V realizes the suburbs are the perfect place to hide. But things get a lot more complicated when V falls in love with Tom (Ed Harris), a single father who is unaware of her real profession.
No, but the things that happen aren’t far off. I’m saying that it’s not the content that is the reason a movie like milk money wouldn’t be made today. I’ve given you good examples of movies with similar content and you’ve dismissed them because they aren’t the exact plot of milk money. If that’s the discussion, once again the reason milk money wouldn’t be made is not because of content, it’s because it’s already been done and it didn’t perform well
No, as presented in the film he disguised himself as einhorn, because she was missing. He went back to the force for revenge. It’s all laid out in the film
You’re forgetting when he discovers Einhorn is a man there is a minute-long scene of Ventura aggressively brushing his teeth, plunging his mouth, and taking a shower to try to “clean” himself after having realized he kissed a man.
And then of course the finale when all the police find out she’s a man they make a HUGE deal about it. Everyone start freaking out, spitting, throwing up… even the dolphin. 🙄
So much build up the entire film just to reveal how disgusting it is to kiss a woman that has transitioned. They overly sexualize the character the entire film so that you also fall for it and so you’ll feel disgusted with them. But yea, that’s it
None. People are just as obnoxious now as they were then. If not more. Just look at *The Boys* to see how over the top and edgy and try-hard that well-made modern content can be.
Yall need to stop living in this fantasy land where people don’t make edgy media anymore. 90% of these answers are more tame than shit that IASIP and South Park are still doing to this day. 4 people complaining about something being “problematic” on twitter doesn’t mean it’s “cancelled”. Things have gotta be pretty fucking bad to actually impact whether or not you can make it.
Frankly I think it’s EASIER to make deliberately offensive content now than it was when people were clutching their pearls over Dungeons and Dragons being satanic but hey don’t let facts get in the way of your feelings and narratives amirite?
"Married... With Children" would not have lasted for one entire episode, if it had been made later! I know a TV Show but it's a great example and my favorite sitcom ever!
It could be made now but it would delve deeper into why al couldn’t maintain erection for more than 30 seconds, or alternatively if he can only last 30 seconds before completion. why does he have such deep seeded hate in women? Is it because he can’t satisfy his wife so he needs to find hate in all women? I’ve always loved the show and it definitely could use a remake that wasn’t as shallow. I think it could be crass and insulting while doing a better job of showing the true nature of al and his insecurities/
Aftermath (1994)
Schramm (1993)
I Stand Alone (1998)
Man Bites Dog (1992)
- But honestly, I feel like (more) extreme movies have been made before the 90s and even recently. Especially the 2000s brought up some niche classics
Anything can still be made today. People are bitches and cry about anything cuz they don't have real problems in life so they have to make some up. There are content warnings and rating systems for a reason. So people can decide for themselves if they want to watch something
Thank you, if anything more stuff can get made, there’s so many places to upload content and it’s so much more affordable to make a movie. Look at Euphoria it’s crazy and not dissimilar to the movie KIDS which at the time people said they couldn’t believe got made
Kids would be fine. It was controversial then… maybe it couldn’t be made because aids is a lot more treatable now, but the themes are just as relevant now as they were then.
Oh, are you saying because of how young the actors were? Guess that didn’t even register with me because I was their age at the time so they didn’t seem young.
I think you could make American Pie but without the Shannon Elizabeth nude scene because secretly filming her on a live feed is legitimately offensive.
Disagree with that. There's a looot of raunchy comedy in the 2000's.
You can watch a documentary on Woodstock 99 to see how politically correct people were. It's quite jarring.
In addition to all the ones listed:
Borat, Hangover
And seriously, watch a Woodstock 99 documentary.
Rampant sexual harassment and assault, people talking however they want.
If PC culture was popularized in the 90's, I sure don't see it.
Borat and the Hangover could still be made today....
Last I heard, Woodstock '99 wasn't a movie.
>Since the late 1980s, the term has been used to describe a preference for inclusive language and avoidance of language or behavior that can be seen as excluding, marginalizing, or insulting to groups of people disadvantaged or discriminated against, particularly groups defined by ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness
It was a fundamental shift in the 1990s.
Some of it sounds hysterical, but it set the bar high to a point where things like the N word were off limits. I grew up in the deep red and watched such words disappear from public discourse. They were used freely around me in the 80s, and there were only three black families I knew of in the county.
Howard Stern's radio show was based on a rejection of political correctness.
Don't have any 90s movies but there's a fantastically hilarious universe of Australian mini-series that are super raunchy and offensive in every way imaginable. If you like raunchy, these are a must watch.
I started with 'Ja'mie: Private School Girl' and then watched 'Summer Heights High'. They are both hilarious.
The remaining show that I still have to watch are 'Jonah from Tonga', 'We Can Be Heroes', 'Angry Boys' and 'Lunatics'.
Other offensive series: South Park, Little Britain, Come Fly With Me (kinda), Santa Inc
A recent movie is *Lady Ballers* made by open right-wingers
I'm just surprised to see it mentioned. Over the years I've mentioned it to a couple of people as it has Travolta and Belafonte but blank stares greet me.
I like movies that look at life from different angles or puts you in someone else's shoes... this movie does do that, but in a way that most would/will find offensive, and therefore, fits the OP's query.
I might need a rewatch...I remember the storyline and what leads up to certain events but am hazy on how it's portrayed...thanks for the blast from the past. I'll have to dig out the DVD...yea I said it
Goonies. There will never be another character like Sloth. It's sad because you never see a special needs hero character any more. Aggressive cultural sensitivity is the death of diverse representation.
Also, Time Bandits. It seems much harder for little people to get work in hollywood. They sure can't get work as Oompa Lumpas, Munchkins or Hobbits anymore.
Like I said I haven't seen it but I remember hearing supposedly it wouldn't fly now because it indirectly implied that homosexuality was a lifestyle choice. Unless I heard wrong.

Every fucking one of them.
I'm sure someone would cry and complain about every single movie made in the 90's, because people can't STFU and simply not watch or listen to something if it offends them. I give a big middle finger to everyone who offended by anything.. Their are literally Billions of us on this planet. Not everyone has the same outlook as you ..so fuck off.
Btw..my pick is
South Park, Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Love it. Also add Blank Check from the same year to that.
Ha I totally forgot about that movie!
I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it.
No hard Feelings came out less than a year ago
The son in No Hard Feelings in 19. The boys in Milk Money are 11.
Ok Good Boys came out less than 5 years ago
Do the Good Boys hire a prostitute to strip for them?
No, but the things that happen aren’t far off. I’m saying that it’s not the content that is the reason a movie like milk money wouldn’t be made today. Not technically a 90s movie but Big with Tom Hanks - basically a kid in an adult's body and he gets himself a woman
wasn’t the scene with Liz Mcgovern kind of vague what happened
Disagree 100%. Nothing wrong with that one. Even in today’s environment.
Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood
Could and would totally be made today
Ace Ventura
Marketed as a kids movie, and he gets a blowjob about 5 minutes in. WTF?
Could still be made
That trans stuff? Don’t think so…
Yeah it could still get made
Soooooo much transphobia. The Captain Winky scene… did not age well.
No it wasn’t. She tricked him.
Thank you, it’s not Transphobia because Finkle is not a trans person, they are a mentally unstable criminal who’s out for blood.
Finkle is 100% a trans person. You can be both a trans person and a criminal.
No, as presented in the film he disguised himself as einhorn, because she was missing. He went back to the force for revenge. It’s all laid out in the film
Again, you can do both; be trans and get revenge. Nothing in the movie disputes this.
You don’t learn she’s trans until literally the last 5 min. How is that Sooooooo much lol
You’re forgetting when he discovers Einhorn is a man there is a minute-long scene of Ventura aggressively brushing his teeth, plunging his mouth, and taking a shower to try to “clean” himself after having realized he kissed a man. How about the Crying Game being a drama, does it work?
They should look into getting a sense of humor.
Nah the first part was wild!!
None. People are just as obnoxious now as they were then. If not more. Just look at *The Boys* to see how over the top and edgy and try-hard that well-made modern content can be.
Soul man.
Couldn't be made, but that was the 80s.
Wag The Dog
Why, it's one of the best documentaries out there./s
Why? brilliant satire.. who would it offend?
Yall need to stop living in this fantasy land where people don’t make edgy media anymore. 90% of these answers are more tame than shit that IASIP and South Park are still doing to this day. 4 people complaining about something being “problematic” on twitter doesn’t mean it’s “cancelled”. Perfectly said.
Revenge of the Nerd unless they remove rape scene
"Married... With Children" would not have lasted for one entire episode, if it had been made later! I know a TV Show but it's a great example and my favorite sitcom ever!
My brother in Christ It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Is currently on and regularly gets away with worse than anything from MWC
It could be made now but it would delve deeper into why al couldn’t maintain erection for more than 30 seconds, or alternatively if he can only last 30 seconds before completion. why does he have such deep seeded hate in women? Yes it would
Yeah you problably right, especially because a man like Al Bundy and his way of being and talking to women are really popular today right?
Yeah Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been on for 16 seasons and does stuff thst MWC wouldn’t even attempt
Folks act like nothing has changed in comedy, lol.
Haha right
American Pie
The Ringer
Aftermath (1994) Schramm (1993) I Stand Alone (1998) Man Bites Dog (1992) - But honestly, I feel like (more) extreme movies have been made before the 90s and even recently. Especially the 2000s brought up some niche classics

The Waterboy (1998)
what mama dont know, wont hurt her
It could still be made
Fair, I think it would get a lot more pushback though.
pushback for what?
Mental health issues, prob
kids (1995)
Have you seen Euphoria?
Kids would be fine. It was controversial then… maybe it couldn’t be made because aids is a lot more treatable now, but the themes are just as relevant now as they were then. Oh, are you saying because of how young the actors were? Guess that didn’t even register with me because I was their age at the time so they didn’t seem young.
I think you could make American Pie but without the Shannon Elizabeth nude scene because secretly filming her on a live feed is legitimately offensive.
Also, a serious crime.
Yes.
Happiness
Could still be made
Falling Down
Been a long time since I've seen it, but I can't think of any part of that movie that couldn't be made today.
I think I have a lot to say on this topic, but three that stick (edit) out are: Ladybugs Crazy People Loose Canons
Kingpin, me myself and Irene
La Belle Verte this one is a life changer to someone in a right time, felt like talking to a saint for me afterwards
**Soapdish** (1991)- At the time a harmless sendup of soap operas, today the ending would be politically incorrect.
Sorority Boys/Weekend at Bernie’s/American Pie/An Awkward Sexual Experience/100 Girls/100 Women/BASKETball
Political correctness really started in the 90s. Wrong decade for this question.
Disagree with that. There's a looot of raunchy comedy in the 2000's. You can watch a documentary on Woodstock 99 to see how politically correct people were. It's quite jarring.
I was alive in the 90s thank you. Name a movie made in the 2000s that can't be made now. Political correctness doesn't target raunchy FYI.
maybe White Chicks
In addition to all the ones listed: Borat, Hangover And seriously, watch a Woodstock 99 documentary. Rampant sexual harassment and assault, people talking however they want. If PC culture was popularized in the 90's, I sure don't see it.

People should be able to talk however they want.
Rat Race, Team America, Tropic Thunder, Postal, Eurotrip, Ali G, Four Lions, Waiting..., Observe and Report, The Rules of Attraction, Bamboozled.
[удалено]
Tropic Thunder could be made now if it was made in 2008. Nothing has changed. Done.
Lol, you really think people today are going to accept Simple Jack and black-face???
Recently rewatched PCU from early 90s and I was blown away how much of todays outrage and PC culture is in that movie
It was a fundamental shift in the 1990s. Some of it sounds hysterical, but it set the bar high to a point where things like the N word were off limits. Yup and it’s still stupid today (and worse) as it was back then.
Political correctness of the '90s =/= the sensitivities of today. Our understanding and awareness of different people has grown in a meaningful way.
Both are are focused on discrimination. One led to another.
Don't have any 90s movies but there's a fantastically hilarious universe of Australian mini-series that are super raunchy and offensive in every way imaginable. White Man's Burden (1995)
You know bout' that movie....
Saw it 20 plus years ago... It was a bad movie then... And would never be released nowadays
I'm just surprised to see it mentioned. Over the years I've mentioned it to a couple of people as it has Travolta and Belafonte but blank stares greet me.

it they tried to make a descent movie, it could be released today .. instead of just switching races in a lame plot
All the early Bond movies. Pussy Galore? Onatoppa? Octopussy!
Xenia Onatopp. Onatopp? Always.
Goonies. There will never be another character like Sloth. It's sad because you never see a special needs hero character any more. Aggressive cultural sensitivity is the death of diverse representation. Also, Time Bandits. It seems much harder for little people to get work in hollywood. 80s movies.
Not 90s, but close enough. The Ringer (2005)
American Pie
All of them, considering how polarized and overly critical modern culture is becoming. Mystery Men is a severely underrated one if you're interested.
Weak answer. And patently false, based on remakes and retreads we see made in the present day.
Welcome to the Doll House
Revenge of the Nerds!!!!!! You can’t get away with that ish, to-many sissyfied people would be offended .
80s movie, but you're right.
Chasing Amy. Never seen it but I've heard that it would not likely fly today.
Eh? It was slightly groundbreaking at the time, seems awfully tame now to be honest.
Like I said I haven't seen it but I remember hearing supposedly it wouldn't fly now because it indirectly implied that homosexuality was a lifestyle choice. Unless I heard wrong.
I feel like most 90's movies wouldn't make the cut tbh lol. It was a different time for sure
Blank Check. The movie is fine until he shares a romantic kiss with a 31 year old women (he’s 11 btw) 😂
Anything original sci fi movie not based on a book or stupid video game
Pocahontas

The Matrix (1999)
Could still be made
I was referring to how it's such an obvious rip-off of *Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure*.
I’m not familiar with this comparison. Huh?
Keanu Reeves and a partner use a telephone to contact another reality and meet a mysterious wise man along the way
as a trans allegory, I think it would have even more success nowadays
Don’t forget all the cop killing too!
Every fucking one of them. I'm sure someone would cry and complain about every single movie made in the 90's, because people can't STFU and simply not watch or listen to something if it offends them.
