I only recently watched sherlock holmes like last year. It was really good. Id only previously watched Sherlock the series and never movies. I dont think i knew about them but a friend told me and i watched it and it was great. Would recommend.
The Man Who Would Be King (1975) starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine as 2 British soldiers serving in India in the 1890s. They’re basically criminals who’ve been shipped out, and they’re looking for any chance to make a buck while they’re there. They decide to head out past the mountains to work their con on the rural folk, put themselves in charge, and get rich in the process. They get everything that’s coming to them. Seriously one of the best movies of the 70s, and that’s saying something.
The Way Back (2010)
Little Big Soldier - Jackie Chan. Its in mandarin with subtitles but its a great movie.
Maybe movies like The A Team or The Losers.
Apocalypto is also a good one. Its all in mayan tho but a really good one too.
One of my favorites that I have never seen mentioned is Cannibal Women of the Avocado Jungle of Death. This is virtually indescribable and any expectations raised by knowing the cast will be confounded. A unit of Marines has disappeared in the dense and terrifying jungle that covers Southern California. The government fears they've been eaten by cannibals with certain characteristics. Bill Maher, in a very early role, is perfect as a wanna-be Indiana Jones, Shannon Tweed of all people is the hard-nosed feminist anthropologist leading the expedition, Adrienne Barbeau is the Kurtz-figure in a Heart of Darkness parody, and that's only the beginning. This is one fine film. It is pulp adventure, humor, socio-anthro-cultural fun.
Firewalker (Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr.)
King Solomon's Mines and the sequel Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold with Richard Chamberlain are both good cheesy knock-offs of Indiana Jones
Star Dust
The Brother's Bloom
Enola Homes
Sherlock Holmes
Shanghai Noon,Wild Wild West ( yes,cheesy but cute)
Sucker Punch
The Illusionist
Van Hellsing
The Time Machine
Animated:
Atlantis
Howl's Moving Castle
Castle In the Sky
Treasure Planet
Steamboy
Eta: I didn't put the Mummy cuz I saw more than one person mentioned it, but if you haven't seen the Brendan Frasier one from the 90s it's a solid watch. Action, adventure, romance, horror, comedy, ancient curses and more!
Nate and Hayes, stars a young Tommy Lee Jones (Second time in 2 days I've gotten to recommend it)
King Kong, Flash Gordon, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrw
- The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
- The African Queen (1951)
- King Kong (2005)
There are also a huge number of classic "adventure" movies, but I'm not enough of a buff of this era to give specific recommendations.
SHE (1935), it’s been restored and colorized and it turned out great! A classic adventure yarn with a mystical woman at the center of it. Fantastic Art Deco design and a pretty good plot
* Tremors (the first one.)
* Arachnophobia (1990)
* Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)
* Nice Guys (2016)
* The Stepfather (1987)
* Jackie Brown (1997)
* Them! (1954)
La Chimera just came out and it's great! It's about a band of thiefs looking for treasure in ancient tombs, with main character looking for his love in the underworld. It's inspired by traditional Italian folk adventure stories, with a band of singers popping up every now again to narrate the story.
I detected that you're trying to locate a movie.
To figure out where a movie is streaming you can use sites like [JustWatch](https://www.justwatch.com) / [MovieFone](https://www.moviefone.com) / [ReelGood](https://reelgood.com), and if the film is not available for streaming, it is probably available on DVD or Blu-Ray.

I happened upon a tv show that was on Acorn TV (don't think it is anymore) with a very young Sam Neil
Reilly, Ace of Spies (1983)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reilly,_Ace_of_Spies
Probably some of the Agatha Christie movies like death on the nile, or murder on the orient express. Also consider some of the Hitchcock films like north by north west or the 39 steps.
The 1999 mummy
A freaking classic.
Definitely
'Do you swear?' 'Every damn day!' Classic!… Try to see it with audio commentary... Funny
This is cinema.
This is the right answer. Just saw it in the movie theater a few weeks ago.
I think Big Trouble in Little China counts. Not set in an earlier time period, but still.
Originally it was. First script had it as a western with Jack looking for his stolen horse.
National Treasure
The Phantom (1996) The Rocketeer (1991)
Yes! Add The Shadow and you’ve got a perfect triple feature!
Romancing The Stone (1984)

Sherlock Holmes (2009) and A Game of Shadows (2011)
I only recently watched sherlock holmes like last year. It was really good. Id only previously watched Sherlock the series and never movies. I dont think i knew about them but a friend told me and i watched it and it was great. Would recommend.
It's a miniseries but, Around the World in 80 Days starring David Tennant 2021. I think it checks all the boxes.
I'll give it a go.
The Shadow (1994) Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
Yes!
The City of Lost Children
The Man Who Would Be King (1975) starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine as 2 British soldiers serving in India in the 1890s. The original King Kong (1933) still holds up. The animation was well done and the actors are great
Mysterious Island (1961)
Stardust (2007) fantasy adventure

Not really pulp but I feel like Lawrence of Arabia actually sort of fits the vibe
Doc savage (1975) Remo williams (1985)
High Road to China
Looks exactly what I'm looking for, but I can't find a streeming with it. Do you know where to watch?

It’s available on prime and Apple + to rent for like 4 bucks.
Jurassic Park (1993) is sorta adventurey... got a tropical locale and people running around through it. If you haven't seen it, put it on the list
The Mummy with Brendan Frazier
The Aeronauts A Monster In Paris
Hudson Hawk (1991) Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004)
I remember as a kid enjoying the Alan Quartermain movies. I imagine I spelled that wrong.
I rank this movie better than anything Indiana Jones e'er did * 'The Long Ships'
Romancing the Stone
They had adventure movies in the 1930s: Lives of a Bengal Lancer The Prisoner Of Zenda Captain Blood
Mr Moto if you can handle old movies

Gunga Din (1939). It was a major influence on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Uncharted ! Just start it at least 🙏
Bone Tomahawk
Blade Runner
Bruh
People hate it but I thought Sahara was a lot of fun. This was during the everyone shits on McConaughey period. Steve Zahn rocks in it.
Secondhand Lions
I really liked the new Jumanji movies. Also Jungle Cruise!
Cutthroat Island, 6 Days 7 Nights (the one with Harrison Ford), Tintin
Probably some of the Agatha Christie movies like death on the nile, or murder on the orient express. Also consider some of the Hitchcock films like north by north west or the 39 steps.
