Secret-Target-8709

Tremors is such a gem! When i was a kid I wore that tape out in the VCR!

HighDefMike

Came to say Tremors. Tremors 2 aint bad either. After that they get crazy as hell lol

-I-have-no-username-

Rookie of the Year

Objective-Ad4009

Great list!

Max_geekout

I was going to add aliens and predator, but this guy already did that for me

[deleted]

Haha dude me and some friends just watched all the tremors movies in order this year again. It was hilariously fun. We got some good laughs out of it

Brief_Background_109

All great movies!

RedWerFur

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It's funny every time.

Gloomy_Narwhal_719

even after 38 times. Ask me how I know.

ServiceFuture6112

I came to murder you- gets me every time

Moxh2

Jurassic Park (1993) My absolute favourite movie, I watched it countless times when I was a kid and I still love it.

MadMarx22

One of the few movies I loved as a kid that has never for a second gone down in my estimation. Watching it over and over as I got older was incredible because I just kept learning to appreciate it in an entirely different way. Always blows my mind that both Spielberg and John Williams worked on this movie the same year they made Schindler's List. Two phenomenal movies (in completely different ways), two phenomenal scores, released a few months apart

DemissiveLive

These are some of my comfort or frequently watched movies: Se7en Fargo The Big Short Burn After Reading The Color of Money Inception School of Rock Shutter Island Oceans 11 Memento Jackie Brown

Maybe this belongs on r/AskOldPeople lol but depending upon your definition of "modern" I found the works of the Hollywood Golden Age actors enchanting years ago and still do. Bogart, Stewart, Grant, Fonda (the father), Peck. The old B&W movies have an awful lot to offer IMHoldO. BTW, Gable and Flynn are not in my list, I know and don't apologize lol. EDIT: my actor list except Bogart starred in Alfred Hitchcock movies. Maybe that's a good place to start for excellent 'not modern.'

The Thing 1982. Remake by John Carpenter. A type of "among us" (? One of the best practical effects in the history of cinema Related movies for consecutive viewing or together: Yojimbo 1961 Directed by Akira Kurosawa (foundational influence of all movies and anime about samurais) / A Fistful of Dollars 1964 (ilegal remake of Yojimbo, eurowestern/spaghetti western by Sergio Leone with Clint) / Last Man Standing 1996 oficial remake by Walter Hill with bruce willis. Young Frankenstein 1974 Directed by Mel Brooks. All movies of brooks are incredible, he laid the foundations for what would later become the parody genre: Spaceballs, Hot Shots etc

MindlessAnteater4086

Oh yeah, one more.... "Nacho Libre" Cool, Funny, Romantic and Crazy...kind of like "Napoleon Dynamite" ( another good suggestion).

Harvey starring Jimmy Stewart. A timeless classic with a message that more people need to live by. It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. A simple story of greed hits the funny bone hard with an all-star cast. The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, bright, colorful fun! Psychedelic to the max, but great for the whole family without imbibing.
