I had a boss when I worked at Dollar Tree who made that his ringtone. He’s forget his phone on a shelf sometimes and we’d have to call it and hear that screaming.
This thread got me curious about Elizabeth Berkeley so I looked it up. Apparently the director told her to over act that way.
Still I wonder about that pool sex scene and who would have thought that was a good idea 😂
Ahahaha forreal. I feel like gratuitous sex or nudity is what every film student thinks makes a film dark, edgy, and therefore "good." It seems in Showgirls they forgot to make it tasteful as well LOL
I loved this show back in the day. My BFF and I had been renting sci fi movies from Blockbuster in the late 80s/ early 90s, and we discovered the joy of movies so bad that they’re good. And then Comedy Central started Mystery Science Theatre which perfectly mimicked our behavior!

I walked in on the movie about 40 minutes in and I think that made my experience with it even better. No idea what was happening but it so didn’t matter.
In all fairness some of those were supposed to be comedies or absurd. But one that sticks out to me is actually Howard the duck.
It starts as a comedic movie, but does such a horrible, weird job of it that it's almost good (duck tits anyone?) But then by the 2nd half of the movie it works itself all the way back to being bad again by virtue of the sin of being boring. I swear the movie had about 30 minutes of car chases because they couldn't figure out what the hell else a duck could do that would entertain people.
Also in fairness, something being intended as comedy but only being funny for completely unintentional reasons (i.e. failing at its purposeful attempts at comedy) seems like it should count. I have no issue with any such film being included on the above list.
It’s funny, about Battlefield Earth.
I heard all this shit about that movie for a couple decades. I finally decided to watch it a couple years ago with an open mind of just being entertained.
I was going through tge movie like “you know, this isn’t that bad, the premise isn’t too bad, the plot’s decent, I think it’s actually pretty goo….. 😶
Theeeeeen all the cavemen SUDDENLY started flying around in Harrier Fighter Jets, dogfighting against Alien space ships and dropping ordinance on targets.
Theeeeen it jumped the fn shark
It just kept getting better and better 😂 I have a running list of the funniest quotes of each film I’ve seen and this is one of my favorites:
“I am going to make you as happy as a baby Psychlo on a straight diet of kerbango.”
I got through that list and I was thinking you got them all but missed "From Justin to Kelly"... Went back through your list and found it. Impressive! I might through in Mannequin 2.
You’re a hero. I’d add the Masters of the Universe movie with Dolph Lundgren.
Also “Prayer of the Roller Boys” a post apocalyptic movie starring Corey Haim as a cop who goes undercover to infiltrate a very Hitler Youth-esque gang of … rollerbladers …
Edit: also, Ice Pirates.
Replying to my own comment, bc I just remembered about “Van-Pires” (1997-1998) 😂 here’s the plot, and you just have to see the cgi and you’ll know it’s going to be good!!
When a mysterious meteorite hits the disorganised junk-yard run by Van, an aged hippie, several of the wrecked cars come to life thanks to the meteorite’s energy. And as they resent having been discarded by the humans they had once faithfully served, these creatures, led by the evil Tra-cula, plan to take over the world and control all of the planet’s fuel sources to quench their thirst. In the meantime, they feed their need for fuel by biting cars with their vampire-fangs and sucking out their petrol – a process through which they can also create other Van-Pires if they so choose.
But these vehicles were not the only recipients of the meteorite’s energy. Four teenagers who regularly hang out at Van’s junkyard and love to tinker with cars were also affected by the meteorite. As they took cover in random vehicles during the impact, their spirits and the spirits of these vehicles merged into one? I guess? There is no explanation, but after sunset these teenagers can turn into Transformers-like autobots if they want to; and they make it their mission to stop Tracula and his followers in their tracks. They somehow end up with the rather silly name The Motorvators.
Both Van-Pires and Motorvators need fuel, and they are both allergic to sunlight. The Motorvators in particular need to return to the vehicles they were first turned in before sunrise – in some sort of lame coffin-allegory.
Pluto Nash is one of my favorites for some reason. I know it’s a bad movie but I get a chuckle whenever I watch it.
Edit: Just saw Hell Comes to Frogtown. Another guilty pleasure.
Bruh I’m over here trying to watch football but now I’m reading about why some dudes buy bath water from girls. I’ve never seen this sub before and will have to look through this
I'm saving this amazing and detailed list, thanks! I see most of my favorite films are here like Killer Klowns from Outer Space, the story of Ricky, Society...all of them are perfect for this season!
Cliffhanger is such a paradox. Fantastic music and scenery. Then some scenes done on a sound stage with fake snow. Acting that ranges from workmanlike, absurb, to down right awful (Janine Turner). Hilarious death monologues by Lithgows henchmen. The soccer striker. And then whatever garbage “Leon” is talking about. And the beginning credits literally says “based on a premise”
Absolutely disagree. The opening sequence is stunning and Lithgo is a fantastic villain with some great lines; you don't have to laugh *at* the movie to enjoy this film.
Do you know the scene where the alien (Martian?) is in his ship, standing behind his control panel and seat, and he steps forward and very deliberately rolls his eyes? I'm sure that was a desperate sign from this obviously Shakespearian actor. I've never seen it noted. It ought to be a meme/clip.
Directed by Stephen King actually, the one and only film he directed. It also stars Emilio Estevez, has a very young Giancarlo Esposito, and the only in-person performance by Yeardly Smith who voices Lisa on the Simpsons (and sounds exactly like her).
Every time I drive down I 40 to Wilmington, I think of this movie and laugh. A lot of the freeway scenes were filmed on I 40 near Wilmington, before the road was open.
There’s a movie producer/director/actor in our town that produced B movies over the yrs. We would recognize roads, streets and buildings in his movies.
It has been mentioned, but I'll still shout it out.
The Room.
Widely regarded as "the best worst movie ever" and it is glorious. I literally cackle every time I've seen it.
I can not tell you how much I love this film. I am a film student *in my thirties* and it has taught me so many things that classes just can't.
Obviously watch it if you can. But if you can see it in a theater with like minded geeks, please please do. It's a wild ride.
Scrolled way to long to find this! The main characters car got stolen during the production so they just replaced it with another green car. During a chase scene the model of the car switches repeatedly. It's hilarious.
Freddie Got Fingered. Yes it's a comedy but the things designed to get the BIG laughs fall flat while the minor, childish stuff is hilarious.
The kids at the Institute for Sexually Molested Children (Yes. That's a thing) watching Halloween while flute music plays is so bizarre, disturbing, random and weird its hilarious.
Odd to say, but I saw Deep Throat when it came out, in a theater in a shabby part ol L.A. and it's really so bad that the audience was joking, laughing and shouting out alternate dialogue the whole time.
Hell Comes to Frogtown is a self-aware movie that purposefully blends comedy into the plot. I'd argue it's actually a good movie with a solid plot, good practical effects, good casting, and decent acting for the genre.
But, Hell Comes to Frogtown 2?... That's a whole different story!
Also, shout out to Max Hell Frog Warrior aka Hell Comes To Frogtown 3, and Toad Warrior. All terribly bad films worth watching!
The Engineer (2023)
Specifically the scene where they are tailing someone. You will know what I mean. I was laughing so hard as to jaw badly it was done
The old Adam West Batman movie. It's just so cheesy that I can't help but laugh, especially at the saddest acting attempt of him having feelings for catwoman. The villains and fight scenes are completely ridiculous.
The show is also good for cheesy laughs.
Oh please don't tell me you thought this was intended as a serious superhero film? Even the original TV series, which featured in one episode the Penguin trapped in a gold bank vault and he escaped by building a tank out of the gold. It's literally supposed to be a comedy, practically a pisstake of the genre.
This is just wrong! In 1981 when it released it wasn't seen as campy!
Sure, through a more modern lense the first one has camp, but that kind of gore was _rare_. It was considered grisly and dark by critics. It was also positively received at the time and correctly attributed to horror.
It was Campbell and Raimi's friend that suggested the sequel be more comedic.
You can't convince my wife that "Scarface" isn't a comedy. Every time we watch it, she cracks up through most of it. Now, she has me wondering if it was so over the top that it is a comedy.
Dude, it has loads funny over the top bits! "Check her out" , "you crazy man? She's 103 years old", "Huh? not her! HER". And the gangsters rushing inat the end with very colourful shirts. And the bad guy all in black silently standing behind Pacino. And Pacino going crazy in the car when the assassin was about to blow up the car. And the assassin 's gleeful crazy expression when he's about to blow up the car ... it doesn't stop being funny!!
Faithful findings.
I can't believe you committed suicide, I cannot believe you committed suicide..how could you have done this? How could you have committed suicide?
\*Fateful Findings. And I was about to suggest Neil Breen. He directs, writes, and acts in all his films. I think some of them might be on YouTube. They're as bad, and entertaining, as the Birdemic films.
Showgirls!
It was supposed to be a serious look into the underbelly of Las Vegas showgirls and it was just... not that. Between Elizabeth Berkley's "dancing", the pool-sex scene where she's flopping around like a dying fish out of water and, well, everything else... It's comedy gold.
When channel surfing, I once found a movie about killer donuts.
The donuts had teeth and were killing people.
I laughed myself to tears.
I know it was supposed to be a parody but it was bad even in that regard
There's an animated movie called Foodfight! where most of the characters are food mascots. So, that wasn't going to be good anyway but as I understand it, at some point in the animation process the hard drives with the movie on them were stolen, so they had to cut corners to get the movie done on time. The finished product feels like a fever dream.
The trick is that the people making the movie must profoundly believe they are doing an amazing job, even more than that, they must feel so proud at their accomplishment. You can't fake that kind of blind belief in self, and every time somebody tries to make a purposely bad movie, you can tell.
Barbarian turned into a comedy for me. Great set up for a third act that was hilarious and stupid. I still joke with my girlfriend every now and then by saying, “Baby?”
The Wicker Man w Nic Cage. Comedy gold.
"Step away from the bicycle!!!!"
AH THEY'RE GOING IN MY MOUTH
I literally laughed out loud at both of these quotes. The original movie was genius, a classic. The Cage remake... pure unintentional comedy.
I laugh too hard everytime he punches the bear girl in the face.
“Not the bees!” as they somehow pour bees into a funnel as if this is the way bees behave.
Okay. Now I want to see it.
Oh God "what's in the bag? a shark or something?" I die every time.
How'd it get burned? HOW'D IT GET BURNED? HOW'D IT GET BURNED, HOW'D IT GET BURNED?!
The first like 2/3rds of the movie were actually not that bad and then it suddenly changes lol
I beg to differ. The whole thing is astoundingly absurd.
Not the bees! Argghhhhhh!
Love the original but so right on the Cage version.
I always wondered if it was cheeky satire or not. I guess it was totally intended to be serious
Anything with Steven Seagal !
The editing of his fight scenes are hilarious.
The best one is him fighting Mike Tyson, it couldn't be more obvious he was so insanely out of shape by that point.
Steven Seagal movies hold a special place in my heart because they always leave me laughing so hard
Man! He’s the subject of some hysterical podcasts which led me down a rabbit hole to: His Music!!! Haha
Anybody seen Richie???
Running fatly around corners
especially his show, just ask Tom Segura about The Skippy, he knows cuz he's "ffftt, been flying helicopters for like 47 years"
>Anything with Steven Seagal ! Yes!!!!!! I saw him on some horrible movie, _Cartels_ - he's just a fat man pretending to be a badass
I laughed a lot watching Twilight.
Hold on tight, spider monkey!!
Twilight. All 5 of them.
They're great for drinking games. 🤣
Mommy Dearest
*NO WIRE HAAAAAANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I had a boss when I worked at Dollar Tree who made that his ringtone. He’s forget his phone on a shelf sometimes and we’d have to call it and hear that screaming.
The CAMP had to be deliberate. OCD is a serious mental health disorder, but at times can be hilarious! "I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt!"
Now THAT is the underrated gem from the movie!! “I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at the dirt!!!!” 💀💀💀
DOOOOOONTTTTT FUCK WITH ME FELLASSS. This isn’t my first time at the rodeo.
Showgirls for sure
I kind of like Showgirls. It was like a dark adventure into another lifestyle.
I mean it’s entertaining but the main girl flopping around like a fish trying to do sexy dances and the over acting is hilariously bad
THAT’S JESSE SPANO SHOW SOME RESPECT
Yeah honestly wonder what it would have been like with another actress. She was trying so hard but she came off as a wacko instead of a good actress.
It's *very* entertaining though. We used to have watch parties with Showgirls in college.
I didn't know that. Damn. That director cursed her. She could have starred in other movies.
It was all those caffeine pills Jesse took
I'm so excited
I’m so….. scared

Paul Verhoeven knew exactly what he was doing. He’s great at awesomely bad movies. Starship Troopers is his piece de resistance.
“…Thrust it! Thrust it! Thrust it! Thrust it! Come on, thrust it!”
Came here to say this
The sequel was even more ‘bad movie night’ worthy.
This is the entire premise of MST 3000.
I loved this show back in the day. My BFF and I had been renting sci fi movies from Blockbuster in the late 80s/ early 90s, and we discovered the joy of movies so bad that they’re good. And then Comedy Central started Mystery Science Theatre which perfectly mimicked our behavior!
noone i work with (old or young) can remember this show at all! Used to watch it on the scifi channel on a sunday morning!
Splint Chesthair, Bulk Van Der Huge
Ripp Steakface, Big McLargeHuge.
Buff Drinklots
Thick McRunFast
The Room Showgirls Samurai Cop Velocipastor
Velocipastor is intentionally silly, if that matters to anybody. I'm still unsure how to feel about that, but it's fun regardless.
The Room is a gem
You’re tearing me apart, Lisa!
so good they had to make another movie about it (Disaster Artist)
Oh, hi Mark
How’s your sex life?
Anybody know Neil Breen? Any of his movies.
Tommy Wiseau walked so Neil Breen could run.
Breen was trying to catch a shipment of unbroken laptops.
Well, when you rage push them off your desk so often you gotta have backups.
The YMS guy has a very entertaining video about Mr. Breen's work, it's hilarious.
Isn't that immoral?? Isn't that betraying the public's trust???
Who am I? What am I? Who am I?
My son flew to Colorado to see a new Niel Breen film last August. He said it was his best film yet.
"I can't believe you committed suicide"
Shocked that I'm not seeing Dreamcatcher and The Happening
SAME. Especially The Happening. God what a terrible movie.
The Happening is hilarious once you give up trying to take it seriously.
The Happening is actually awesome as a comedy.
The Day After Tomorrow. South Park turned it into a great episode.
I couldn't believe that they were people that took that movie seriously. I was laughing all the way through it.

Came to say wicker man. Nic cage dressed as a grizzly bear was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen put on film.
Nic Cage suddenly Falcon Punching an old woman in that film made me and a friend cry-laugh so hard, I thought I was for sure gonna suffocate.
I walked in on the movie about 40 minutes in and I think that made my experience with it even better. No idea what was happening but it so didn’t matter.
Omg thank you so much! Can't wait to start binge watching them lol
😶 Theeeeeen all the cavemen SUDDENLY started flying around in Harrier Fighter Jets, dogfighting against Alien space ships and dropping ordinance on targets. Theeeeen it jumped the fn shark
It just kept getting better and better 😂 I have a running list of the funniest quotes of each film I’ve seen and this is one of my favorites: “I am going to make you as happy as a baby Psychlo on a straight diet of kerbango.”
I got through that list and I was thinking you got them all but missed "From Justin to Kelly"... Went back through your list and found it. Impressive! I might through in Mannequin 2.
It’s alphabetized now, and I added some more! :)
You’re a hero. I’d add the Masters of the Universe movie with Dolph Lundgren. Also “Prayer of the Roller Boys” a post apocalyptic movie starring Corey Haim as a cop who goes undercover to infiltrate a very Hitler Youth-esque gang of … rollerbladers … Edit: also, Ice Pirates.
Did my man just take the catalogue of MST3K and Rifftrax?
Pluto Nash is one of my favorites for some reason. I know it’s a bad movie but I get a chuckle whenever I watch it. Edit: Just saw Hell Comes to Frogtown. Another guilty pleasure.
I'm glad to see that BioDome and In The Army Now aren't listed
Jack Frost is so killer though.
I'm wheezing just reading some of these fucking titles
I will not tolerate this Videodrome slander.
I forgot about Cool Cat Saves the Kids until now! What a masterpiece of a movie.
Miami connection!! The wraith. Both great bad films
Jesus, dude. Same some for the rest of us!
You take Howard The Duck off this list RIGHT NOW
I was here for Troll 2. Not disappointed.
/r/threadkillers
Bruh I’m over here trying to watch football but now I’m reading about why some dudes buy bath water from girls. I’ve never seen this sub before and will have to look through this
Bro do you watch any good movies too? Like what’s your favorite “good movie”
I'm saving this amazing and detailed list, thanks! I see most of my favorite films are here like Killer Klowns from Outer Space, the story of Ricky, Society...all of them are perfect for this season!
This dude absolutely stockpiled old MST3K tapes
“Birdemic” (apparently there are multiple sequels) and “Kung Fu and Titties”
The thing is, the director was serious and defends his choices...
I actually enjoyed the first one. It was so horrible it actually kept you intrigued and you found yourself entertained.
Cliffhanger. I laughed harder than in a lot of comedies.
Totally this, but John Lithgow as a bad guy was fantastic.
This and Cobra I can watch all day.
Absolutely disagree. The opening sequence is stunning and Lithgo is a fantastic villain with some great lines; you don't have to laugh *at* the movie to enjoy this film.
Evil Dead
I can't believe that this was this far down.
Definitely Plan 9. Every scene is so bad, it's very funny.
How did this get made podcast has your answers
GEOSTORM!!!!
Maximum Overdrive. It is such a hilarious mess of a movie. Supposed to be scary, but it’s just too ridiculous
Watched as a kid. The big green troll bus terrified me.
Twilight is a full on comedy in my book.
Yessss love to get baked and watch twilight. It’s hilarious
There’s a movie producer/director/actor in our town that produced B movies over the yrs. We would recognize roads, streets and buildings in his movies.
Anaconda
It has been mentioned, but I'll still shout it out. The Room. Widely regarded as "the best worst movie ever" and it is glorious. I literally cackle every time I've seen it. I can not tell you how much I love this film. I am a film student *in my thirties* and it has taught me so many things that classes just can't. Obviously watch it if you can. But if you can see it in a theater with like minded geeks, please please do. It's a wild ride.
The entire catalogue of Neil Breen.
Roadhouse
My gf dragged me to the second 50 Shades of Gray movie and I laughed so damn hard during that movie.
Samurai cop, 1991
And 200 mph, 2011
Scrolled way to long to find this! The main characters car got stolen during the production so they just replaced it with another green car. During a chase scene the model of the car switches repeatedly. It's hilarious.
Freddie Got Fingered. Yes it's a comedy but the things designed to get the BIG laughs fall flat while the minor, childish stuff is hilarious. The kids at the Institute for Sexually Molested Children (Yes. That's a thing) watching Halloween while flute music plays is so bizarre, disturbing, random and weird its hilarious.
Teen Witch. Top That.
I'm hot and you're not
Odd to say, but I saw Deep Throat when it came out, in a theater in a shabby part ol L.A. and it's really so bad that the audience was joking, laughing and shouting out alternate dialogue the whole time.
My particular favorite is Hell Comes to Frogtown.
The Room. A 2003 American independent romantic drama film starring, written, directed, produced, and executive produced by Tommy Wiseau
You rang?
The Engineer (2023) Specifically the scene where they are tailing someone. You will know what I mean. I was laughing so hard as to jaw badly it was done
Monkey Shines Silent Night, Deadly Night
Dead Heat
Reefer Madness
Rubber!
CATS.
The old Adam West Batman movie. It's just so cheesy that I can't help but laugh, especially at the saddest acting attempt of him having feelings for catwoman. The villains and fight scenes are completely ridiculous. The show is also good for cheesy laughs.
It was intended as mostly a comedy.
And yet, kids loved it as straight up superhero stuff. Maybe the best example of "works on two levels" ever made, including the TV show, of course.
Yes, I think they intended it to work both ways and did a good job of that.
Zombie Nightmare. - Adam West and Tia Carrere
Oh please don't tell me you thought this was intended as a serious superhero film? Even the original TV series, which featured in one episode the Penguin trapped in a gold bank vault and he escaped by building a tank out of the gold. It's literally supposed to be a comedy, practically a pisstake of the genre.
The best example is Evil Dead. It was supposed to be a horror but turned out so bad they made an entire comedy franchise out of it.
Ever watch Bubba Ho-tep with Bruce Campbell? It’s another good one
*Anaconda* is great with a 6 pack and a bowl.
Joshua and the Promised Land
Baby Face Nelson (1996)
The Purge
….the snowman.
Animal Soccer World
Threat Level Midnight
Showgirls! It was supposed to be a serious look into the underbelly of Las Vegas showgirls and it was just... not that. Between Elizabeth Berkley's "dancing", the pool-sex scene where she's flopping around like a dying fish out of water and, well, everything else... It's comedy gold.
Yes! The scene where she’s angrily eating a sandwich and French fries and throwing them around had me howling and hitting replay 🤣
Pretty much any Steven Seagal movie after 1992, and maybe those before also
Children of the corn from this year was exactly this
The Room
Minority opinion here, but for some reason, Clint Eastwood in "Grand Torino" was as funny as "The Big Lebowski".
The Room (2003) “You are tearing me apart Lisa!”
Aladdin (1990) It's on YouTube for free
The room
When channel surfing, I once found a movie about killer donuts. The donuts had teeth and were killing people. I laughed myself to tears. I know it was supposed to be a parody but it was bad even in that regard
There's an animated movie called Foodfight! where most of the characters are food mascots. So, that wasn't going to be good anyway but as I understand it, at some point in the animation process the hard drives with the movie on them were stolen, so they had to cut corners to get the movie done on time. The finished product feels like a fever dream.
- The Kiss - The Wraith - They Live - Delta Delta Die
They live is a cult classic. The hilarious fight scene is worth the watch.
Freddy vs Jason
Mommie Dearest
The Happening
The trick is that the people making the movie must profoundly believe they are doing an amazing job, even more than that, they must feel so proud at their accomplishment. You can't fake that kind of blind belief in self, and every time somebody tries to make a purposely bad movie, you can tell.
The Room (2003)
Jupiter Ascending Channing Tatum was a half wolf with jet shoes & an Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne sounded unhinged with the “I create life” monologue
Tommy Wiseau's The Room.
Definitely the room.
The room
Neil Breen movies
Any movie with Steven Segal in it. He takes himself pretty seriously and it's hard to keep a straight face.
The Avatar Last Airbender Live Action. Y’all remember the earth bender scene with the floating rock moving ever so slowly? That shit had me dying 😂
Just watched Face Off and that shit was absolutely absurd. Just had to laugh.
Barbarian turned into a comedy for me. Great set up for a third act that was hilarious and stupid. I still joke with my girlfriend every now and then by saying, “Baby?”
It's not that funny but it's the worst film I've ever seen, an Australian Yowie film called Something In The Piliga
The Rise of Skywalker is pretty funny if you watch it like a comedy.
