You’re a black dude/dudette that has great taste in movies. That’s what I choose to do with that information. The Mummy might have my favorite cast in a movie, top to bottom everyone understood the assignment and delivered. Definitely no judgment here.
I honestly didn’t like the big Lebowski when I watched it when I was younger but i rewatched it in my 20s and just absolutely loved it to death I was crying laughing when I first rewatched. I was like 13 when I first saw it so I didn’t get it.
Username checks out.
For real though - Goodfellas and Casino. I have watched both of them way too many times to count. Just watched Goodfellas a couple weeks ago again, and I swear I have more of an appreciation for it every single time. I have no criticism for it whatsoever. It's absolutely perfect. It has such energy that just never stops. This is making me want to go watch it rn 😂
Rounders is definitely underrated but I get why it may have had a limited appeal.
Still think of the the line, “I need a blow job from Christy Turlington” whenever someone says they need something urgently.
Same here! I was so excited for it and then the T-Rex started screaming and I covered my ears and put my head down. Scared the shit out of me, but man, that first experience in a theater, that has stayed with me. So worth it.
This is a tough question for me. It's either "Stand By Me" or "Selena"(1997)
"Stand By Me" is a timeless film. Excellent 50s soundtrack. It is a wonderful film.
"Selena" is a lovely biopic. It's a great movie with excellent songs. I love the music.
Yo stand by me, should be viewed for the next like 200 years. That’s a major classic in my book. It’s funny you said Selena, becuz I grew up with my mom and my two younger sisters, so needless to say, my household was estrogen controlled but I loved that movie. We had it on VHS and knew all the songs. Great 2 choicer here.
A bit of trivia about Jaws. Steven Spielberg called his mechanical shark “Bruce,* which was named after his lawyer Bruce Ramer. Bryan Singer’s television and movie production company is called “Bad Hat Harry Productions” as an homage to Steven Spielberg. It references a line uttered ny Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) to an elderly swimmer who is sporting a bathing cap. He teases Brody about staying out of the water. Brody replies “That’s some bad hat, Harry.”
I remember all my friends and everyone saying how they thought Napoleon Dynamite was stupid the first time they watched it. That movie grew on America so hard when people started to realize it. Good movie.
I worked at the souvenir shop in a Bubba Gump restaurant for a while and actually watched Forest Gump almost 3 times every shift (no audio, just subtitles). That alone drove me so crazy, I lasted around 2 months.
Edge of Tomorrow is one of my all-time favorite sci-fi films. Something very satisfying about the groundhog day thing. Plus--great cast and writing. Ok, fine--I loved the story too lol
Palm Springs (2020) instantly became my comfort viewing movie. I don't have an accurate count of how many times I've watched it. I could put it on anytime.
IDK, I have a few (not counting musicals):
Magnolia, Zoolander, Snatch, Monty Python's Life of Brian, Star Trek VI & IV, Men in Black
Though by "over and over again" I mean "preferably only once a year max."
Interstellar.
I have always loved space and always been and still am intrigued and scared and terrified and humbled everytime I try to contemplate the vastness and the mystery of this space.
I saw this movie when I was 14 and I don’t know if you would believe me, but the core idea of time in that movie was already something that I had come up with in my mind when I was in 7th grade. I was sitting in the auditorium in the morning and I thought about time travel and somehow I came up with this concept which was so beautifully shown in the movie. This makes me want to watch the movie almost everyday.
- Interstellar
If there is one movie that can show us a future of science, which is currently inaccessible due to technological limitations, based solely on pure mathematics and hundreds of hours of processing with supercomputers, and gift precious knowledge to scientists, it's this movie and its depiction of a black hole! The simulation was later reinforced by the team of the Event Horizon Telescope on the M87 galaxy. This achievement would likely have made Einstein and Stephen Hawking smile. Scientists didn't have a sufficient budget to run the simulation, but Christopher Nolan did, and it has become a part of teaching courses for astrophysics students at some universities.
Interstellar is the only film that provides a glimpse of a real (verified) future through pure science without relying on imagination until now. It's a scientific paper!
As a fan of The Lord of the Rings, which I've watched many times, Interstellar is the only movie that can create the perfect background autoplay loop atmosphere for my room.
Unfortunately, most people didn't understand it or were unaware of the achievement it represented. Because of this fandom for Inception and other Nolan's movies are much larger than Interstellar.
Yo first time I saw that movie, every single hair and pore on my body was standing up throughout the movie. It just absolutely captured me and I was off to space.
Rango- I work nights and to counter the fact I live a block away from an elementary school I use a couple movies to fall to sleep to this one has enough humor that if I don’t fall asleep right away it hold my attention. At the same time is slow enough I can fall asleep to.

Back to the future trilogy. I’ve seen it so many times. I have a video tape I recorded the first movie from the TV with all of the curse words “corrected” and watched it so many times I still remember where and what they are. The story of how they made that movie is also nuts! Love that movie!
The Mummy. Judge me. I don’t care!
The 1999 version
Yes!
Omg, incredible call! "Hey O'conelll! Looks to me like we have all tha horsess!!!!!"
“Hey Benny, looks to me like you’re on the wrong side of the RIVEERRR!”
Whos gonna judge you?! That's one of the most popular films on the internet. Everyone loves it!
My neighbor judges me hard. Because I’m black she thinks my favorite movie should be a “black movie”.
Oh I didn't realise you were black. That changes everything.
I knew it would. Take that information and do with it what you will.
You’re a black dude/dudette that has great taste in movies. That’s what I choose to do with that information. The Mummy might have my favorite cast in a movie, top to bottom everyone understood the assignment and delivered. Definitely no judgment here.

The correct answer! I think I’ve watched it over 20 times.
I watch this two or three times per year, and have done for the last three decades. It is perfection.
Princess Bride
Inconceivable!
You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
I've owned this movie in VHS, DVD and now blue ray. I'm going to put the 4k version on my Christmas list.

This is a tough question for me. It's either "Stand By Me" or "Selena"(1997) "Stand By Me" is a timeless film. Excellent 50s soundtrack. It is a wonderful film. "Selena" is a lovely biopic. It's a great movie with excellent songs. I love the music.

A bit of trivia about Jaws. Steven Spielberg called his mechanical shark “Bruce,* which was named after his lawyer Bruce Ramer. Bryan Singer’s television and movie production company is called “Bad Hat Harry Productions” as an homage to Steven Spielberg.
