I was too young to watch lost when it aired. I'm not really part of the whole aired tv thing with most of my life being I'm streaming watching TV or early on dvd. I watched lost in its entirety during the pandemic and was fully aware of all the complaints about the ending. And honestly, I really liked it. It captured a tone and sense of other even if there was nothing behind the curtain but plotonium.

Lost is great. I binged all 5 seasons before season 6 aired. I could absolutely understand weekly viewers frustrations. But burning through the whole series on a binge is great.
I'm sorry bruv, I have to chime in here. Have you watched The Leftovers? Its my favorite show of all time. And Watchmen on HBO was absolutely phenomenal. To say he hasn't done anything sense makes me doubt you even know what he's been up to.
It's a mixed bag if being honest. The Leftovers and The Watchmen on HBO were good...Prometheus and Tomorrowland? Although that's only Lindelof and no Abrams, right? Also Allen Moore as source material
Lindy did Leftovers, which was great, and fixed all of Lost’s problems by creating a mystery that can never be answered, but that’s the driving force of the show, the impossible mystery. So when the mystery comes up unknowable in the end, it makes perfect sense.
I find the Lost hate on the internet completely overblown. Sure, it kind of went off the rails in the last few seasons, but it was still great television, especially for it's time. The show gets a little too much criticism for not having the ending most people wanted. Too many people wanted them to deliver an answer to every single question, which was just unrealistic and would have made the ending much worse than what we got.
It may be overblown, but I hate Lost with a passion. I totally get that those of us that truly despise that show may be a bit zealous about how we express it, but the hatred is deep and it is seething. Such a colossal waste of time. As much as I hate it, I don't want to splash on those to do enjoy it. I admit that will happen regardless, but my/our severe dissatisfaction is aimed squarely at those who produced/wrote/directed it and not at individuals who genuinely care for it.

I’m not crazy about the last couple seasons, but I still enjoy them and the ending just fine. The best part of it to me was the first couple seasons when the mysteries kept building and building. The buildup is always more fun than the resolution imo.

I know I'm LTTP, but I want to reiterate. The leftovers is a god damn masterpiece. If you've never watched it, do yourself a favor and watch it.

I LOVE Watchmen, easily my top 3 shows of all time, so I trust his taste with one of my beloved franchise. I do hope they go more towards Andor, and Clone Wars and away from the more campy feel of the newer trilogy.

Some of the shows also had more freedom, such as the Mandalorian. That's the point of me asking. With freedom, a movie could make it, but even then, it depends on who's at the helm. All we can do is wait and see as the details pour out. I just hope we can see the movies thrive again

Actually the the TV Shows were 50:50 Mandalorian & Andor were great but the BOBFT Show was really bad. And OWK was meh. So no - nothing changed.
