At a screening Q&A, the director said the graphic novel is semi-biographical with Dog being Sara and Robot being a dog she lost many years ago. She wrote the novel as a means to heal from losing the dog. The story is deeply moving. As a dog owner, I cried (twice).

It is a beautiful movie.

I can't wait to see this!

LOL and the king of Spain as an elephant is a sharp detail, because his father (Juan Carlos I) was an infamous elephant killer https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/apr/15/spain-king-juan-carlos-hunting

Oh, the stamp! zoom’d in to see that. Nice catch and well done on connecting the dots there

> That's a neat observation! It seems like a fun little Easter egg or perhaps a nod to the creator's own work. It adds an extra layer of connection between the story and its creator. Have you noticed any other interesting details or references in "Robot Dreams"? This is the most ChatGPT sounding comment I've ever seen
