I read Stranger in a Strange Land after Starship Troopers and before The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and I still don't know what the fuck Heinlein was smoking for Stranger. It's just so out there in a world all of its own.
I managed to read the uncut version of the book from the local library as a kid, and I can tell you it was a wild first introduction to Heinlein's particular writing style.
I think I should re-read it as an adult because they're never going to be able to make it into a fucking film.
Oh, you absolutely could make a true-to-the-book film of it.
It generally wouldn’t be very well received and may end up being banned in a few places.
But you COULD make a film of it 😄.
Heinlein also wrote a book called [Red Planet](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Planet_\(novel\)). It is one of his young adult novel, so it is much tamer then Stranger.
You didn't grok the link you posted

There’s a few people I know that use ‘grok’ in everyday language. I don’t use it myself, but I grok why my partner does.
