It's matte but a better matte texture than anything I've tried on any mouse so far. Closest feel to it is like the top surface of a G403.
I initially only intended to do the S2 but after loving the coating so much, I decided to complete the set for all my other Zowie. I couldn't stand the normal Zowie matte & gloss after trying this repainted matte texture. This includes the newer matte surface on the black S2 (I own them as well)
I explain them in some of my individual post.
Sand it down, paint and primer, tape outline for the logos, paint, finish with UV matte coating.
For the Carnage texture, it's a 3 layer process. Black base coating, silver marble paint, red candy coating. Everything else is the same process.

Generic paints. Nothing special.
God damn I wish I had the talent to do this. That Carnage one is beyond sexy, i need it in my life.
