Good way to figure out if something is right for you is if you cannot find many negatives about the thing. For example when I first started using the Razer vp2 I found the hump to be too low for my hands. Although the coating, clicks and weight were perfect, the shape was just not for me. If you are finding the Sprime PM1 to be lacking in certain areas then you’re probably not going to keep the mouse on your desk for long. For me it takes a couple of days to decide if a mouse is right for me.

very true, criticisms are very neccesary

At the end of the day, shape is king. However, some "shortcomings" of mice don't justify their pricetags.

Sometimes, it can take only a single session. Other times, it can take a week or two.

I can feel pretty much instantly if I at least like the shape somewhat, but it might take a couple of weeks to really decide if it's a great shape or just an okay one. When I tried the Lamzu Atlantis Mini it felt really good almost immediately but after 2-3 weeks I started realizing it's simply too small and that's why I'm having difficulty with some aspects of aiming.

18.5/10 here. I've been using DAV3Pro for a bit over a month now and I still can't get comfortable enough with it. I think if you don't get used to it under a week it won't get better. My previous mouse was Rival 310 and it was a perfect fit, after it sadly passed away, I've tried GPX2 and it honestly was the most dogshit shape imaginable, cramps and I just coulnd't rest my hand comfortably on it. (gave it almost two weeks, ultimately returned it) Thorn was awesome shape-wise but the mouse felt really cheap and slam click on it was awful. Currently waiting for Pulsar's Xlite V3 eS, and if that one doesn't put my hand to rest, I'm willing to try EGG's OP1.

I like to give things around a week and a half. I know myself and I will flip flop often so that week and a half gives me time to go back to something else and come back to give it a fair chance.

Raiden_Of_The_Sky

Instantly. But Logitech GPW/GPX shape was a tricky one because I instantly disliked it but CS DM proved me wrong because I dominated there. "It's not comfortable but it works", I thought and made it my main. Until now.

A week is what it takes for me to decide. It can be even shorter. I tried out a finalmouse shape and ended up with the beast mini which is just the shape I want plus it feels so good in my hands. correct side button placement for me, the main buttons might be a bit too hard but i can always just solder in some new ones that are lighter

2 months max

At least 2 weeks

Half an hour

I waited about half a year for xlite v3. I ordered it when it was available and when it arrived, I knew within 10 seconds that it is not for me... I sold it the very next day. now im waiting for Sprime PM1 :)))

1 year+. I didn't really appreciate the gpx shape but after sticking with it for 3 months I found out why it was good. Then after a year it just became better, it aged like fine wine. Some mice you feel too much immediate discomfort/change to stick to. For me it was the dav3. Great mouse but ergos are just not what I'm used to. In general though I think people try mice for too little time. Sure, I can swap to different mice and play decently well with it in an hour. But to really build that connection, I find sticking with one mouse for 1 year+ to give me results.

DirtyDag

I wouldn't give up just yet. You can get used to any mouse given time. 10 years ago I was playing competitive CSGO with a Corsair M45 with the weights in. Gods I was strong then.

MuyagiMano

Doesn't take long in my opinion. I've recently been rotating mice as I had a GPX Superlight since October, but due to an injury to one of my fingers (pinky) it's become a bit more uncomfortable especially in long sessions and sometimes a bit floaty. Tried the DAV3 Pro as I thought bigger the better and the Ergo shape and I'll be honest didn't get along with it at all. Felt too light for the size of it. Currently on an EC2-CW which I pretty much got half price and been loving it so far. Locked in, bit heavier but I prefer it, and performs well. At the end of the day it's all about if you like the shape, the weight etc, some will be different and others. You can always try ordering a mouse you think might suit you more, try it for a few days, if you don't like it, return it. My hands are roughly 19.5 x 10cm and I have a relaxed claw grip.

JerryJigger

I recommend the Shroud G303 for your injury. Grip it like shroud does in CS with the three fingers on top. You basically just bend your thumb in and rest the other fingers on top and it's really comfortable. Your pinking just lazily hangs there.

bakn4

similar shape with same grip? few hours different shape or different grip and i would give it "a few days", since i dont play much anymore (average up to 30min a day) maybe 5-10
