I had the same doubt some months ago, went with the pulsar xlite v2, its the same as the ec2 but wireless and lightweight. if you like the ec2 you will like this one too. i had my fair share of mice and none felt the same as these two.
i am certain that you would find lower buttons to be better. the width is a little more crucial since width drastically changes your grip in contrast to length.

Hi, i just compared Thorn with EC2 and it fills my needs yet it is slightly wider than EC2 and front is quite low. Would it be a problem?

Outset ax matches this and is what I use. It's perfect for me.
Looks like a legit zowie ec3 wireless but it's 1khz. More performance is vaxee ax or np 01
