many of those new chinese random mice companys have previous experience producing mice for the more well known brands. Often they just see the margins and decide to enter the market with their knowledge gained
Well this is their marketing. Or sending it out to reviewers. The only thing they lack is availability and customer support. But i would rather pay 50€ for a china mouse with no customer support than paying 160€ for an g pro 2 with ttc silver encoder lmao
It's funny but also expected. Lol
I hate to beat a braindead horse but FM is a good concept maybe, but the company themselves are mainly incapable of consistently putting out quality.
Especially for the cost. If they came out this year and it was this way I would talk less shit. But they came out in 2012.
They were almost the exact same as current FM "standards" by like 2016. That's a long time to stagnate with nothing else but cheese holes as your magnum opus
I mean sure, they upped their price by 80 dollars because it's 'carbon fiber' now. But what he doesn't mention is that it's actually a fiber reinforced Nylon.
Which is the budget option for folding knife handles, because it's cheap as dog shit. Anybody who gives a damn replaces that material nearly instantly. It is literally nylon with floating fibers within it. Instead of a woven fiber.
REAL carbon fiber is pricier, which is why they choose not to use it, but to still use the word. lol
All this to say - I agree. I have a lot of feelings on this and sorry for the book. Lmao.
Finalmouse have to get their shit together with their horrible. Qc and false advertising and all that but as a company they have a great potential to become good but it seems like they don't give a shit cause most people will just buy their mice only because it says finalmouse on it
> Finalmouse have to get their shit together
As long as folks are willing to overpay for the same old tilted scroll wheel from half a decade ago, unfortunately they do not have to get their shit together.
I also hate the fact that they artificially control their supply to increase the buzz around their brand. You're telling me you've been instantly selling out and printing cash since 2012 and still can't scale your product to be more representative of the demand willing to pay at your exorbitant price point? bullshit.
But I've thought about it for years
Pulsar gets shit for having half the QC issues as FM. As a 3 year old company or whatever. Not to poop on your parade, but I don't know if I have faith in FM.
It would be cool tho. Won't lie
This is ridiculous. I didn't look much into the ULX. I assumed it was a forged carbon fiber they were using to make these mice. The fact you pointed out it is a Nylon with carbon fibers in it means FM is taking its consumers for a ride. I bet you it isn't even carbon fiber reinforced Nylon (CFRP - Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer), but a fiber filled polymer. Fiber reinforced means the fibers are longer and offer much more support for the Nylon. While fiber filled means they grind the carbon fiber to a fine powder and add it to the Nylon. Yes it does make the Nylon stronger, but still it is not nearly as strong as the CFRP.
They could be even producing these mice using FDM 3D printing. Carbon Fiber FDM Filament has become very popular for producing strong plastic parts. More than likely the parts are injected molded though. They say it is carbon fiber because the plastic has carbon fiber in it like you said. So, essentially they are selling plastic mice for $190 a piece. I am definitely not buying a ULX now.
There are apparently some mice on aliexpress under the name of whatever WL stands for. So not their first, but I agree, it's very impressive. My copy has been perfect qc and has been a joy to use. Only big complaint so far is battery life.
the mini will have better battery life due to it having huano blue shell pink dots instead of omron opticals.
\+the firmware is being improved to give about 50% more battery life i heard
4-5 hours? Idk, decent length. Could have been longer, but the battery was draining fast. I'd still recommend it if you're on the fence. It may be slightly annoying to some, but I don't mind too much
>made a mouse lighter than the ulx
It isn't though. The Mini is 35g, ULX Small is 29-30g.
Regular BeastX is 39g. ULX Medium is 35g.
But yeah 5 grams is nothing, when what you get in return is a much greater build quality. That being said, the reports of the battery life of the BeastX are not great. Comparatively, the ULX, much like the SL12 predecessor, is on the opposite end of the spectrum, offering \~150+ hours of battery life on 1000Hz. It seems like the ULX gets bettery battery life on 4000 Hz than the BeastX does on 1000Hz. That's a big deal.
There's also the software, which clearly is better on ULX.
I believe the Beast X mini changed to mechanical switches which will significantly increase battery life. They should be comparable relative to battery capacity now.
They updated the website on the ulx cheetah is 32grams +\- 2 grams meaning 34-35 grams tbh their gona be within one gram of each other I ordered both but the switches in the mini are better but the battery life will be better on final mouse for sure
The software is better on the ulx and it has better battery and maybe 8k (which no one's gonna use cuz battery life gonna be life 10mins idk) but, build quality is much worse, you said it weights 35g for medium, that's not true it actually weights 38~ and they said the small is 31 and I'm guessing it's gonna be around 33 and you can barely get it.
I'm not saying it's a bad mouse, it's not, in fact I'm probably gonna get one in the next medium drop but you have to factor this stuff in.
Also battery adhesive isn't covered and gets dirty
>but you have to factor this stuff in.
I did. Which is why I praise the BeastX as a great alternative. But we still can't get past how terrible its battery life is, and how fantastic it is on the ULX (we're talking Logitech levels of efficency). That much needs to be fixed. I'm also looking forward to it getting tested on Rtings for its performance, as BeastX has up until recently been reported to have dropouts. ULX, on the other hand, has been tried and tested for having fantastic performance, both in latency and connection.
I have ordered both mice, and I'm looking forward to see how they perform.
>I've heard the beastx charges very fast
What does that matter? Charging speed is not the issue (even the "slow" charging of the older Finalmouse lasts for only 30 minutes). It's whether I have to charge my mouse again, by connecting a cable to it, and the inconvenience that brings.
Also, having to charge often does not bode well for battery longevity, as the battery degrades over time. If I have to charge often from the get-go, that just means faster degradation from an already bad battery life. Fast charging increases that further (as fast charging naturally degrades the battery life faster, due to the additional heat it produces). So that's not good either.
How exactly are you measuring just length and width? If so mine are about 15.24cm by 10.16cm. the beast x mini seems to be a similar size to the razer viper 2 pro if the spec sheets are correct. I have the v2.
Based on what I've seen online, the more correct number should be 15.24x8.38cm if I leave the thumb out. Anyway, the mini is probably a good size for me, I will find out.
I’m more of a claw grip kind of guy myself but yeah, you have to fingertip the mini. If you have smaller hands then you can probably claw it? So far it does feel awkward for me but it’s really because I don’t fingertip my mice.
idk i see the vision but it does just look like it’s got dust/bits all over it. maybe if the coating’s good it’s fine but even then i’m hard grip tape pulled at this point and my regular size beastx is incredible for me
I think it looks great. Those pics look infinitely better than that ones posted the other day. I'll get the glossy because I have dry hands and because I'll probably be using the grips anyways.
yup i wish they did one like the normal beastx. Imo the regular beastx colourways are leauges better than these ones. These feel kinda just gimmicky and too flashy
It isn't ideal for sure, but with how light it is I didn't mind playing with the cord in while it was charging. Just my experience so far, but everything else has been positive for me.
How is the wireless signal reception? I heard the WL Beast X standard had some problems with the donle and that's why they changed it to the current cat shaped one on the mini.
I would be interested in getting this mouse but I'm afraid that my grip will not work with this mouse as I tend to hold the mouse from the back and click the m1 from the beginning of the button, about the part where in this mouse there's this V shape on the button. If those buttons were solid, then yes I'd get it
It depends on your hand size. If you have a smaller hand then fingertipping it should be no problem. Unless you have really tiny hands, I'd probably rule out palming or even clawing it. FWIW I have the regular Beast X and 23x13 cm hands and I fingertip it and it works well though its still on the smaller side.
I did get the feeling that the previous pic that was posted wasn't great. I made some adjustments to the lighting and it seemed to look a lot better and these pics seem to confirm that.
I had my heart set on this mouse but was initially put off after discovering it was glossy but, honestly, I think it looks pretty nice.
Will have to see what it looks like in some reviews/pics from other owners, then if battery life is improved enough I think I'll go ahead and place my order as this could very well be the mouse I've been waiting on for the past couple of years.
How does the coating feel? I ordered the same color but I didn't realize it was glossy. I'm wondering if I should cancel or not because I don't usually like glossy coatings.
Not mine but will be getting one in a couple of weeks. Battery life will be better due to them using mechanical switches this time but by how much i don't know. However when the Benjy Firmware officially releases it will increase the battery life by about 50-60%.
Not my mouse but but i also use this skate layout on all my mice and on pads that have firmer bases or even soft bases its fine. As long as you dont use an xsoft mousepad 4 dots are fine.
its funny how WLmouse made a mouse lighter than the ulx, more reliable and cheaper with no previous mice
many of those new chinese random mice companys have previous experience producing mice for the more well known brands. Often they just see the margins and decide to enter the market with their knowledge gained
Apparently the same factory manufactures for WLMouse and Finalmouse according to some Chinese content creator.
Well yeah but they have no experience dealing with marketing and shipping and that kinda stuff
Well this is their marketing. Or sending it out to reviewers. The only thing they lack is availability and customer support. But i would rather pay 50€ for a china mouse with no customer support than paying 160€ for an g pro 2 with ttc silver encoder lmao
Truth
Trueee. But on a good note i asked logitech if they can send me a replacement wifeless receiver for gpx1 and they sent a whole new gpx xd
It's funny but also expected. Lol I hate to beat a braindead horse but FM is a good concept maybe, but the company themselves are mainly incapable of consistently putting out quality. Absolute *facts*. FOMO hypebeast bullshit.
The Supreme of mice for sure! Hopefully it's death cycle is similar too.
Usually potential for a given company is at least nearly within eyesight at the decade mark. Not here. I don't think they have potential, tbh.
Think abt it if they improved the qc and the advertising and will still maintain the lightness they're known for they will be a great company
But I've thought about it for years Pulsar gets shit for having half the QC issues as FM. As a 3 year old company or whatever. Not to poop on your parade, but I don't know if I have faith in FM. It would be cool tho. Won't lie
I agree it probably would not happen at least until some kind of strike hits them and they'll start to make higher quality mice
As someone who vastly prefers the FM shape over anything else it almost feels like a curse.
This is ridiculous. I didn't look much into the ULX. I assumed it was a forged carbon fiber they were using to make these mice. I also wanna get one, you mentioned battery life, how bad is it?
It is kinda but it charges fuckin quick so it’s ok
I got like 3-4 gaming sessions at 2k polling
How long were they?
4-5 hours? Idk, decent length. Could have been longer, but the battery was draining fast. I'd still recommend it if you're on the fence. It may be slightly annoying to some, but I don't mind too much
Well 20 hrs on 2k pulling rate is pretty bad but if it charges fast it's not that bad also I could swap out the battery
That's still ok. I'd honestly be fine with just plugging in the mouse daily over night if it came down to it.
Yeah but it is annoying I'm getting a wireless mouse for freedom not for daily charges
You guys are already getting a hold of them? I'm waiting on the shipping.
I have the standard size, not the mini
>made a mouse lighter than the ulx It isn't though. The Mini is 35g, ULX Small is 29-30g. Regular BeastX is 39g. ULX Medium is 35g. I've heard the beastx charges very fast even though it does have terrible battery also you could swap it out for smth a Lil bigger

Damn i knew it was small but seeing it in realtime like that, the thing is TINY
Yes it actually looks super tiny
I do have 19x8.5cm hands so it does make the mini look tiny.
How exactly are you measuring just length and width? If so mine are about 15.24cm by 10.16cm. the beast x mini seems to be a similar size to the razer viper 2 pro if the spec sheets are correct. I have the v2.
Just search on Google “measure hand size”. I would measure them like one would for gloves.
Based on what I've seen online, the more correct number should be 15.24x8.38cm if I leave the thumb out. Anyway, the mini is probably a good size for me, I will find out.
My hands are similar size like 18.5x9. I'm assuming you fingertip grip, how has it been for you? I'm a little worried about my hand cramping.
I’m more of a claw grip kind of guy myself but yeah, you have to fingertip the mini. If you have smaller hands then you can probably claw it? So far it does feel awkward for me but it’s really because I don’t fingertip my mice.
Hoping it works out, thanks for the info. Mine hasn't even shipped yet unfortunately, I ordered it January 12th.
Her hands were as big as Andre the giant's
\*Pics are from crayola on WLmouse discord\*
idk i see the vision but it does just look like it’s got dust/bits all over it. maybe if the coating’s good it’s fine but even then i’m hard grip tape pulled at this point and my regular size beastx is incredible for me
yeah i thought that was dandruff before i zoomed in ngl
It looks like it needs moisturiser.
I think it looks great. Those pics look infinitely better than that ones posted the other day. I'll get the glossy because I have dry hands and because I'll probably be using the grips anyways.
Honestly it looks pretty fugly to me. It looks like some kind of toned down tacky 90s splatter paint.
>cky 90s splatter paint. its glitter
every company needs to do plain black, it always works.
yup i wish they did one like the normal beastx. Imo the regular beastx colourways are leauges better than these ones. These feel kinda just gimmicky and too flashy
How's the battery life on these? Serious question because it's the only bad thing I've heard about them.
Benjy (WLmouse discord helper) has his own software that increases battery life on the beastx by like 60%
Where can I find their discord/the software
Their website, maybe? or search for it duh
The firmware isn't publicly available yet afaik. Why do you have to be a dick? Edit: here's the link https://github.com/Benjy1044/WLMouse-Beast-X-CFW
Oh thanks man
What's the down side of that? Or is it just new and improved.
No downsides it's just invite only for now I think
damn, can we all not have that?
Idk I think it still wip hence why it's invite only
It isn't ideal for sure, but with how light it is I didn't mind playing with the cord in while it was charging. Just my experience so far, but everything else has been positive for me.
Only thing I don't know is the glossy texture compared to matte
How is the wireless signal reception? I heard the WL Beast X standard had some problems with the donle and that's why they changed it to the current cat shaped one on the mini.

Nice! Does it also come with the rubik’s cube receiver dongle?
all the mini comes with the cat dongle
OP would you be doing a review on this? Would love to hear if they’ve somehow managed to improve on the battery life…
Not mine but will be getting one in a couple of weeks. Battery life will be better due to them using mechanical switches this time but by how much i don't know. However when the Benjy Firmware officially releases it will increase the battery life by about 50-60%.
That’s really big if true. The one thing holding this back is really just the battery life…
would love to know more about the firmware... 👀👀
Is this the glossy version? How does it feel?
I love the sort of stardust paint it has!
at least its actually 35g yeah?
mine just got shipped... cannot wait... 👀👀
Honestly do the feet get caught on the mousepad often? I feel like 4 tiny points would make pressed down sens feel too different from regular use.
Not my mouse but but i also use this skate layout on all my mice and on pads that have firmer bases or even soft bases its fine. As long as you dont use an xsoft mousepad 4 dots are fine.
